She couldn't help but chuckle as she glanced up at the male, "Sometimes," she said, "you love someone, but you don't love them properly."

Pausing she watched him, the way the corners of his lips hitched upwards when he realized where the conversation was heading, "And that can be due to the fact that you're young and blind, but mostly it's because you haven't learnt how to love. Usually it's because you haven't even learnt to love yourself."

He stepped forward, placing his hand on her shoulder before giving it a gentle squeeze. He uttered a quick apology before retreating back to the comfort of his home and shutting the door. 

She stood there with tears filling her eyes, threatening to spill over. Quickly she blinked them away as she retreated down the steps leading to the gate. 

Glancing back one last time she silently whispered farewell to the structure she once called home, before slipping back into the the busy streets where she blended in with everyone else.
