"You are so special go me," she was pushing against his chest, "but we apologize more than we talk. We always get angry or sad or so damn closed off."

He grabs her arms, pinning them to the wall behind her as tears stream down her cheeks.

"It's okay," she was shaking, "I forgive you. I think I always will, but I think you need to leave now. I think you need to go" 

He presses his face against the crook of her neck, "I'm sorry. I love you." Like it would make everything right again. 

The pair doesn't move, they stay like that, the only sounds in the room were the sounds of their shaky breaths and pounding heartbeats.   

"Perhaps I am holding you back," she breaks the silence, "Perhaps you are holding me back as well."

He pulls away, just far enough to look her in the eye, "Because that's what people do when they're in love as hell but they're not compatible," she continues, "they hold each other back."
