She sat there and shrugged, “The truth is I miss him,” she said, “But I will rather swallow poison before I admit it.”

 

Silently as if the world knew that she needed all the comfort in the world, the wind stopped blowing and the quiet chirping of birds could be heard in the distance as she gazed out at the small playground ahead of her, “And I can hardly stand the silence between us. But that doesn’t mean that I’ll be the first to speak.” 

 

She knew that she was lying to herself if she said that she wasn't afraid, afraid of everything she had planned coming crashing down like waves at sea during a storm, but she remembered something that he once said to her, "I hope you're doing things for yourself," he spoke, "other people won't remeber your choices thirty years in the future"

 

He paused, "You're the one that has to live with them."
