“You make me wait because you know I will,” she told him, “and I am sick of waiting. Just because you know someone will do something for you doesn’t mean you should make them do it.”

“You shouldn’t have fallen for me,” he said finally. “I told you. I told you I’d it up.”

She quietly glanced up at him, “You shouldn’t have kept talking about the future. Our future.” the corners of her lips tugging upwards, “I told you that you shouldn’t promise me forever if you were going to leave.”

He hesitated but took a step forward, arms wrapping around her petite frame, “I’m sorry,” was all he managed to say. “I never meant for it to be this way.”

"It’s alright.” she shook her head, as she gave him a smile before stepping out of his arms. Her heart sank like a stone in the river, and she couldn’t help but wonder if this is what not caring felt like.
