One nasty hiccup and an even nastier cure. And by nastier it meant wrong on all levels of humanity!

But then why did it feel so right? Siwon’s mind and his heart were waging wars from within him engaging in a painful but exhilarating push and pull. Kyuhyun’s eyes were wide open in utter shock. He was as stiff and lifeless as a block of wood until he realized the act and the premise. Siwon’s lips were glued to his, his eyes were closed, his hands were holding his shoulders in a death grip and his breathing was slowly becoming labored.

A second later he felt Siwon’s lips move against his. Kyuhyun gasped. And it was the biggest mistake of his life. Siwon’s tongue plunged into his mouth exploring and tasting it. And it continued doing so. Assaulting his senses and messing up his mind until there was an urgent need for him stop this from going any further. He released his balled up fists on his side and began pushing Siwon away forcefully.

But the guy was unrelenting. Unfaltering. Siwon’s hands ascended from his shoulders and were gently holding the nape of his neck. Something only lovers would do.

Something inside Kyuhyun snapped as he gave a forceful push and a firm punch on his jaw as an accompaniment. His whole body was buzzing with an unusual feeling from the kiss. Siwon reeled at his  punch and ended up caressing his sore jaw often checking if his mouth was bleeding. He watched Kyuhyun slide down onto the floor holding his mouth.

“You….you kissed me! This has got to be a nightmare!” his voice sounded unsteady.

Gathering his strength, he screamed at Siwon. “You bastard! What do you think of yourself?” He lunged at him ready to deliver another blow when Siwon coolly declared.

“Your hiccups.” Kyuhyun was puzzled. And then it struck him. In all this high voltage drama, he had forgotten all about it. Wait a second! Forgot?

“Why don’t you check if your hiccups are gone before you er punch me again!” Siwon added. The realization hit him like a ton of bricks. His hiccups were really gone. So, Siwon kissed him only to cure his hiccups? He wondered if it was solely for that reason then why could he feel like it was something more. It felt like one of those kisses he’d had with Victoria. Passionate but with more vigor and ferocity. He could clearly feel for himself that Siwon was in fact dominating the kiss.

Wait. Why was he analyzing it? And why was he comparing it with the ones he’d shared with his fiancée? Siwon didn’t mean anything to him. Then why was he feeling flustered.

Shaking his head he got up in a flash and headed upstairs where he met Jung Soo and Ryeowook on the way.

“You aren’t ready yet…” Jung Soo said as Kyuhyun refused to meet his eyes.

“I am feeling a little under the weather. You guys go on without me!” Without saying anything else he proceeded towards his room.

“You snooze you lose. And don’t say I didn’t…..” Jung Soo’s little speech got interrupted when he heard a sharp slam of the door.

“insist you to come with us.” He finished as he sighed heavily at Kyuhyun’s brattish behavior. He’s been doing nothing but give him a hard time ever since their arrival. How was he to survive the entire span of the movie shoot?

“I wonder whats wrong.” Ryeowook wondered. The poor guy has been witnessing nothing but negativity ever since they landed this morning. And he seriously wished that this gloominess would lift soon.

“At times like this, I wish he came with an instruction manual. So we can know how his mind works and what he’s thinking!” Jung Soo replied as he approached Siwon standing in the lobby holding his jaw.

“Shall we go?” he asked him.

“Sure.” Was the curt reply from Siwon. They had rented a car for the tour and the chauffeur looked like he’d jumped straight out of one those cookery shows hosted by celebrity chefs who speak English with a permanent slur. Jung Soo was suddenly struck with the idea to cast him in his movie and probably consider casting him in his future projects.

The rest of the car ride was spent ooing and awing at the resplendence of Corsica. Jung Soo and Ryeowook were having the time of their lives drinking in the scenic beauty of the island while all Siwon did was look uninterested at the spectacle.

Come to think of it, he did go overboard with it. But why though! All the fuzziness and the strange fluttering feeling in the pit of his stomach and the….desire….yes.

It was no doubt his burning desire to feel Kyuhyun by all means possible. Everything about Kyuhyun right from his soft lips to his round eyes to his smooth pale skin drove him nuts. He delved into the farthest reaches of his troubled mind for answers to the most baffling questions. Now if it were someone of the opposite he could give himself the liberty to reason it as nothing but unresolved because he was ramrod straight. Or atleast he thought he was. Until now that he had pulled off possibly the gayest act anyone could pull off in history. All for a measly bout of hiccup nonetheless!

He facepalmed at his impulsive behavior. More importantly he felt even more embarrassed that he had unknowingly let Cho Kyuhyun, his most dreaded rival crawl under his skin.

Meanwhile a certain someone was beating himself up over the hair raising incident that happened not too long ago. How could he be so damn careless? How could he have simply let him do that to him? But then why was he working himself over a kiss if the person whom he’d shared it with mattered to him almost as much as the dusty Ikea in a far corner of his room. Yes it was dusty. He reminded himself to give a piece of his mind to the room service guy who had probably forgotten to clean it earlier.

Burying himself further under the bed covers, he thought about sleeping some more so that he could wake up and reassure himself that all this was a nightmare. His phone rang right at that time.

He felt even more miserable when he’d noticed that it was Victoria again. How could he face her after this? How could he talk with a sane mindset after doing what he had done. With Choi Siwon of all people. He let his phone ring a couple times more until the call got disconnected and the room went silent. His mind anything but that.

“Hey there!” Victoria chirped from the other side and Kyuhyun felt sorry for her.

“Hey yourself Vic.” He said but she was quick to catch his weary tone.

“Whats wrong? Are you ok?” she asked.

“Umm..yeah. Just..um..a bit jet lagged.” He managed. But then it was just his mouth responding while his mind was constantly going back to those five fateful minutes.

“Oh my poor baby. Did you have breakfast?” she asked.

Sure I did with a side of one hell of a smooch from my co-star a.k.a douchebag of the century a.k.a Choi ing Siwon. Grrr.

“Yeah.” He replied.

“O..kay. Kyuhyun is there something you wanna tell me?” Victoria asked him. Sometimes it bewildered him how she could accurately point out his misgivings.

“Coz you don’t sound good at all. And no, we’re not talking about the jetlag.” She said.

He chuckled. He knew there was a reason he was still with her and hopefully for years to come.

“Why are you laughing?” she asked.

“Ha ha. For some reason you sounded exactly like Dumbledore.” He said and laughed some more.

“Is there something you wish to tell me, Harry?” He said mimicking the old wizard’s voice from the movie and rolled on his bed with laughter.

“.” She declared.

“Aww….Vic don’t be mean to me!” he said in attempts of cajoling her.

“Seriously Kyuhyun don’t you deviate from the topic. I know something’s been bothering you!” she reiterated. Well there was no escaping it since it had come to this point.

“There is something. And it concerns you.” He said in a low voice that threw his fiancée off guard.

“Me? How exactly?” she asked him.

“Are you ok with me doing this movie?” he asked her. This was one way of venting out.

“Whats this all of a sudden? Did something happen?” her worries magnified by the second. And there was nothing more tedious than having to pacify a worried Victoria. Nothing got through to her when she was in that state.

“Nothing happened babe. I am fine. Ok. So don’t go pulling off another Han River incident.” He painfully remembered the day when he had taken her out for a picnic on the banks of the Han River. Everything had been going well until a sudden sick and sadistic thought had crossed his mind. He had pulled her into the waters and both were splashing each other when he had suddenly fake slipped on the river bed and pretended to drown. He knew Victoria couldn’t swim so it was obvious she’d panic.

And it had come true. She was screaming her lungs out for help. Tears rained down her cheeks and it broke his heart to see his loved one in so much anguish.

He emerged from the waters in a rush and hugged her tightly constantly whispering his apologies into her ears. She struggled in his hold and hit his back many times but he just stood there taking all her blows until she finally stopped. He still remembered the words she said afterwards.

“I cant go on with my life without you.” She had said in all sincerity. He had suddenly felt choked with all emotions rushing from all possible places. He had sworn to her that he would never pull a prank like that ever again.

“Just tell me honestly. Are you or are you not ok with this?” he asked her again.

“Of course I am ok with it. Why else would you think you’d be on the other side of the globe when you could be here with me?” she said.

“So you’re ok with it despite it being a gay themed movie?” he asked now being cautious of his choice of words.

“Of course I am. I mean it will be awkward seeing my fiancé cozying up with another male on screen but I can understand.” She said honestly.

“Even after knowing that there will be racy scenes?” he finally asked her. Whether rejecting this movie or not at this point totally depended on her reply right now.

“Is today “rile-up-poor-Victoria” day or something?” she asked him return.

An unwarranted chuckle erupted from him as he said “No. Its “I-want-my-fiance-to-speak-her-mind” day. I admit I had been jealous seeing you in the arms of other men who are probably more dashing than me in many of your previous ramp walks. I just want to know if you feel uncomfortable.”

“If I say that I am not comfortable, will you give up this movie?” she asked cautiously.

“In a heartbeat. I’ll probably get another movie like this someday but I cant lose you.” He said. Victoria ached to be by his side and give him a long tight hug right at that very moment.

“I love you Kyuhyun. But I am not that selfish. I know how important this movie is to you given the fact that you’re doing it even when Siwon is on board. You’re working hard overcoming all odds and who am I to take your happiness away from you.” She said.

“And I don’t have to feel insecure at all. Because I know you would never cheat on me. Because I know you love me as much as I love you.” She added. And almost as if a blanket had been lifted everything seemed crystal clear to him. All his apprehensions disappeared in an instant.

“Thank you for understanding. And I wont let you down.” He reassured her.

“That’s my man. I know you’ll kick . Now I need to hang up before dad yells at me. Bye. Love you.” She said.

“I love you too. Sleep tight.” He said and hung up. His mind was oddly refreshed and he felt almost as good as new. For some reason he felt as though it was pointless to blow this “kiss” issue out of proportion. It was all in his own head and he thought that Siwon probably would have let it pass a long time ago as well.

“Might as well take a shower!” he said to himself and hopped out of bed.

A few hours later the entourage arrived with a multitude of shopping bags hanging from their arms. In fact there were so many that Ryeowook himself got hidden in the pile. Siwon had bought one of the most expensive colognes. And Jung Soo seemed busy with someone on the phone telling them to send them the rest of the filming gear by the following day. All three settled on a couch in the reception area while a freshly showered Kyuhyun came downstairs wearing a baby blue V neck tee and beige shorts. His eyes momentarily locked onto Siwon’s and then immediately onto the pile of bags.

“Whoa! You guys have practically bought an entire store!” he said in astonishment.

“There was a sale downtown. And you look……normal. Had a nice sleep?” Jung Soo said.

“Yup. And what do you mean normal? I am always normal!” Kyuhyun said in his defense.

“Says the one who was cranky the whole day. If I had known better, I’d say you were PMS-ing nonetheless.” Jung Soo said.

“Yeah whatever. Why the hell are you wasting your money like this? We get all these stuff back home!” Kyuhyun told.

“You tell him Kyuhyun-ssi. He drove me crazy the whole day.” Ryeowook said.

“Details details. Anyway I am going to bed. Don’t wake me up unless you guys have a death wish.” Jung Soo said ushering Ryeowook who dutifully followed him with all bags hanging from his limbs.

“What about dinner though?” Kyuhyun asked.

“I’ll order room service if I am hungry.” The director said and went back inside his room. Meanwhile, Ryeowook couldn’t shake this weird feeling off like something was up between Siwon and Kyuhyun.

“Hyung don’t you think something weird was going on? I mean I could be wrong but Siwon and Kyuhyun hadn’t argued all day. In fact they were avoiding each other.” He said.

“Seems like I made the right decision to postpone the start of the shoot for a couple days.” Jung Soo told him.

“You mean you did this on purpose!?” his assistant asked him but got only a wink as a response.

Downstairs more awkward silences followed. It was the same premise like this morning and it felt like déjà vu all over again. Only this time pancakes were replaced by two cups of steaming jasmine tea so there was no excuse for another annoying bout of hiccup. After Jung Soo had left for his room, Siwon had asked Kyuhyun to stay back just so they could talk about the incident this morning and clear the air around them. Siwon had thought of talking but all he could do was stare at the person sitting across from him. Kyuhyun looked alluring even for him. His damp hair fell like a curtain over his eyes. In short Siwon was having trouble coming to terms with his ual orientation. He had never, not even for a moment, doubted his uality. But these odd sensations he had been experiencing around Kyuhyun for the past couple of days were compelling him into doing so.

They were both noiselessly sipping their teas thinking of what to say to alleviate this suffocation around themselves. However Siwon was the first to break his silence.

“I am sorry for coming onto you like that. Its not really……I mean your hiccups were getting worse so I thought….I thought it was the only way to…” Siwon stuttered as he reasoned. Up until now stuttering wasn’t in his dictionary. He had always come right out and said whatever was on his mind.

“No need. I understand why you did what you did. Its just you took me completely by surprise. There’s nothing more to it, right?” Kyuhyun replied.

I wish there was nothing more to it!  He thought.

“And..uh…I am sorry for punching you.” Kyuhyun said all while twirling his cup as if the tea held his attention.

“Its fine.” Siwon replied.

“So? Is that all?” Kyuhyun urged. For some reason he could sense that Siwon had been hoping to tell him more.

“Um..yes. That is all.” As Siwon finished his cup of tea he couldn’t help but notice the gleaming platinum band and the stunning diamond that sat right at the centre of it. The ring sat pristinely snug around Kyuhyun’s fair and delicate finger, a permanent reminder of the fact that his so called nemesis was engaged. He got up excusing himself and went upstairs to his room in a rush.

He had hoped to clear the air but it had only further tightened his throat and he so wished for the day after tomorrow to come as fast as possible. Maybe once they get down to business, he could forget about the whole ordeal. Or so he thought!

Ta dah…..
