At A’s Café House

Ding

“Hello welcome to A’s Café House, what can I get you?” asked Jessica smiling just like always, but as she turn to the customer, she couldn’t help but be surprised by this particular customer.

“Hello, I believe we haven’t been properly introduced. My name is Ash.”

“Uh, yeah I know, I I mean I heard. Sorry, what can I get you?” asked Jessica as she scolded herself mentally for stuttering in front of this guy.

“I didn’t know you worked here. Is this why you were walking so late?” asked Ash, looking at Jessica with soft eyes.

“Yeah, I had to close the café….anyway are you going to order or can I go back to what I was doing?” ask Jessica rather annoyed, she was a little mad because he wouldn’t order and because of his response back at the school.

“Right….look first I would like to apologize for my response back at the school, I shouldn’t have responded like that. I’m really sorry. I hope you can forgive me.”

Jessica could only looked at him, she didn’t expect him to apologize, especially so formally.

“Its fine I suppose.” Jessica responded giving him a smile.

“May I know your name?” asked Ash smiling at her.

Jessica’s POV

I could feel my insides tingle as he looked at me. There was something about his eyes that made it almost impossible to look elsewhere. Finally, I snapped out of it, “Jessica. My name is Jessica.”  I didn’t know if he could tell my voice was a bit shaky.

“The name suits you very well. Jessica, since I have never been here will you recommend something for me?” He asked giving me another smile. That smile though.

I tried my best to answer him without stuttering, “You can try our hot chocolate. People have been ordering that a lot today.”

“Well then I’ll have that then. How much is it?”

“Oh, don’t worry about it, consider it a thank you gift, for before.”

“Well, thank you, Jessica.” He then went to sit down at one of the corner tables.

I couldn’t help but glance at him from time to time while he was drinking his chocolate at one of our tables.

“He’s hot” Tiffany, my coworker and of course best friend, mention smirking at me as she put her chin on my shoulder. I couldn’t help but roll my eyes at her.  

“Of course, you would say that” I said turning back to what I was doing.

“What is that supposed to mean?” She followed me to the back desk.

“You say that about every guy, Tiff,” I said as I sat down so I could finish the inventories for the café.
