Monday morning found Kai at school, sitting at his desk, one hand propping up his chin, elbow resting on the table top, one hand busy drumming out a rhythm on his desk.  “Do you think being my slave for a week is too harsh?” Kai asked his best friend in the desk beside him. 

“I think you can get more than that,” Kyungsoo answered.  He sat slouched in his chair while he finished the last of his math homework.  “You took a huge risk.  I’d hate to be in your shoes if you got caught.  Oh, don’t forget we have that history paper due at the end of the week.”

Kai groaned and let his head fall back.  “I totally forgot about that,” he said.  He folded his arms on his desk and leaned forward.  “Alright, Sohee, that’s what you can do to make it up to me.  Write my paper for me.”

Sohee turned in her sit in front of Kai to look at him.  She smiled sweetly at him and said, “No.  How many times have we had this conversation, Kai?  I’m not doing your homework for you.”

“But this time you owe me a really big favor,” Kai argued. 

Sohee rolled her eyes.  “We’ve been over this Kai, I didn’t ask you to cover for me.”

“Your mom called me and asked where you were,” Kai said holding up his hands.  “What was I supposed to tell her?  The truth? That you were at that freaky factory you’re not supposed to be at?  That you were there at night which is even worse?  You’re my best friend, Sohee, of course I covered for you.” 

Embarrassed but secretly happy, Sohee laughed off his comment shoved at his shoulder.  He had been pulling that “best friend” card more often recently.  But she kind of did owe him.  Her mom had called him when she hadn’t returned home Friday night and Kai had lied for her, saying she was at his house studying.  Her mom hadn’t even gotten mad at her for coming home late. 

“What are you smirking at?” She asked Kyungsoo.  He looked way too amused for his thoughts to be on his math homework.  “And what do you mean ‘huge risk’?  It was just a little lie.”

“Sohee, no offense,” Kyungsoo said.  “But your mom is scary when she’s mad.  And Kai put himself at risk to face that wrath when he lied for you.  You owe him big time.”  He turned away, distracted, when Chanyeol ran by him to join Tao and Suho in roughhousing. 

“Seriously though, Sohee,” Kai said and leaned forward.  Still smiling, Sohee turned her attention away from the guys playing.  “You had me worried last night, too.  I hate it when you go to that creepy building.  I won’t make you write my paper for me,” he said and held up a finger when she opened .  “But you do owe me a favor.  I plan to collect.”  He was smirking now as he leaned back in his chair. 

Kai was saved from her retort when the teacher walked in and ordered everyone to take their seats.  The boys who had been playing around jostled each other as they hurried to their desks.  The boys who sat in front of Sohee quickly got off their desks where they had been sitting and sat properly in their chairs. 

Suho, as class leader, stood at his desk in the front and ordered the class to greet the tea
