... There's a light. It's just a pinprick, but a light it is none the less. It's a funny colour, not the colour you'd expect to see if you were lying under the ground. It's as if there's no sun shining on the world anymore. The light is blue. It's a faint, pale blue. It almost looks like a sea crashing over the hole. 

I'm lying underground, studying the light and trying to work out where I am. The last thing I remember is darkness, never ending darkness. Silent darkness. The light is moving now, like it's trying to catch my attention. 

Slowly I send signals for my arms to move, to catch the light and bring it into my world. You see, there is no light in my world.

I can't make my arms move. They lie there, motionless. I can't move my head and look at my hands. Why would I want to do that anyway? But my hands won't move, I can't shout for help for someone to give me a hand .. if they could walk around in my world.

If they could see in the blackness. I can't even open my eyes, to check that it's blackness around. For all I know, I could be lying in a rainbow room, but I can't open my eyes to check.

I can hear, though. I can hear the nurses walking around; I can hear music sometimes. I can hear my elder sister, Ahra, talking to me. She doesn't talk to me like I'm dead, like all the others. She talks to me like I can hear. Well, I can.

She isn't here now, though. She can only come a couple times a week; she's busy working to get the money to pay for me. 

I don't know why she bothers. I'm a vegetable.

That's what a few of the nurses say. Or they same I'm useless. Or a waste of space.

The only one who doesn't, is Jungsu. He's nice to me.

I wish I could get up and dance. Or get up and cook. Jeez, I can't cook. I just want to get up and do anything.

There's the light again. It's moving about now, blurry but it's getting bigger. I can see it clearly; but I don't have my eyes open, how am I seeing?

This world ... place that I'm in make no sense. I've been in here long enough and I've lost track of time. I'm losing my memory.

I'm out of time. 

I'm running out of time and the longer it takes for me to recover, the less chance I have of survival.
