Chapter 1

          I was in my human form, ordering my pack to do all sort of activities that could increase their stamina. Yes, I was the Alpha. Although it may seem rare to you but it’s true. The elders chose me to take over my parents after their death.

         Our territory was beside the Solaris. They were one of the worst packs ever. But I know, it wasn’t them it was their Alpha and Beta. I honestly pitied them. They were ordered to do all sort of bad things to put their names in other people’s bad list.

         A few of my people were killed by them when I was young. That’s the reason why I was taught to hate them since birth. **Hey, why are you dozing off? ** Ethan my beta said to me through our minds not to mention knocking me off my thoughts. **I’m not. ** I argued quickly. **Kind of. ** I added. **Liar. You know you can’t lie to me Alpha. ** He joked. The other wolves laughed at our mind conversation but stopped when I turned to glare at them. I can’t help it.

         “Okay, that’s enough for today.” I shouted across the field, completely in Alpha mode. I didn’t exactly have to shout so loud because they had their super hearing to help them. It’s just a habit. Everyone stopped immediately hearing my command. I walked back into the house after everyone. Just as I was about to go in I heard a message that really pissed me off. **Alpha Katherine, trouble with Solaris. Come now. **

         I immediately ran to the border line between the Solaris pack and the Luna pack (our pack). I ran as fast as I could, it wasn’t long before I realized that I shifted unconsciously and was on all fours. I didn’t even give a thought about the clothes I tore when I changed. I saw a fight going on when I reached. Luckily no one was hurt yet.

         I immediately jumped on the opponent, getting scratched on my back and arm. Damn he’s strong. I said to myself. **Yup. ** I heard Jon said. He was one of my pack members and he’s third in command. We stopped fighting after I hit him enough to make me satisfied, although my wolf was shouting for me to kill him on the spot. I tried very hard to control myself.

         **What the hell is going on here? ** I said in my Alpha command voice. I couldn’t speak when were in our wolf form but still we can talk to each other in our minds. I can only speak to the Alpha through my mind even though we’re in our wolf form. It’s a gift that most Alpha has. I looked towards Jon and saw he was in front of his mate protectively. It’s a natural thing to feel possessive over your mate. I looked at Jon’s eyes and they were obviously saying more like shouting “MINE”

        ** Calm down. ** I ordered. Although he was angry like hell he still tried hard to calm down his nerves. ** Well, well. What do we have here? A new Alpha? A she wolf? ** The other Alpha smirked. ** So what? ** I growled.

         ** That’s surprising? So you’re taking over your parents? I got to tell you something they were really worthless they weren’t even meant to be the Alpha. Such weaklings. ** he chuckled. Alright that was enough to make me piss off like a mad person. I just wanted to rip his head off right where he is standing and not to mention my wolf was begging me to.

         It felt like forever since I’ve seen mum and dad and I missed them so much. The truth is it’s only been 3 months. **Leave. ** I said as calmly as I can. Jon and his mate Isabelle flinched a little at my harsh tone. He smirked at me before leaving and went on like as if nothing had happened. I promise I’m so going to kill him one day and I won’t give a damn about it.

         Jon and Isabelle just stood there frozen watching as I tried to calm my nerves down which wasn’t a success. **You two okay? ** I asked. They only nodded to me. **Be more careful. ** I said before running towards the pack house like a speeding bullet. Jon’s mate was one of our best trackers and I can’t risk losing her to some pitiful mutt. Will it be better if I just found a mate now? I’ve never actually thought about it before because I know I’ll never actually get one. Yes I have such little self-esteem. Almost everyone in the pack already has a mate and I’m the only one that hasn’t had one.

         The thought of what he said about my parents flashed my mind again and that was enough to make me wish him dead. Not to mention he was one of the people that planned on killing them. I really can’t wait to see him draw his last breath. When I reached the house, Ethan was there in his human form. He threw me a shirt and I went behind a tree to change and out on the shirt.

         The shirt was long and it reached my thigh thank God for that. I stormed into the house ignoring everyone’s questioning look on their faces. I walked straight into my room and banged the door when I closed. I always did that when I was angry at something or someone. Right now I’m really outraged at that stupid Solaris Alpha.

         I took a quick shower and then put on some fresh new clothes. I cannot keep thinking of ways to kill that stupid wolf when I had so much work to do. I needed to do the paperwork and it’s been piling up because I skipped doing them for a few days. I walked to the office feeling relief at no one was on the way when I walked to the office. I didn’t feel like talking to everyone right now.

         I did as much paperwork as I can. It was the only way I can find to distract myself from anger. I didn’t know how much time has passed when suddenly a knock came from the door. “Come in.” I said, still distracted from my work. I didn’t see who was coming in and I didn’t need to. I immediately knew who it was. Ethan.

         “Kat, you’ve been here to whole day.” I looked at him in surprise. I’ve been here for so long. I didn’t even realize that. I looked out of the window and saw that it was already night time and they moon was out. I was so beautiful tonight since it was a full moon.

         My tummy growled involuntarily and I felt myself blushed. Even though Ethan was like a brother to me but it’s not wrong to feel embarrassed right? “Go get some food and sleep. I’ll continue on.” Ethan said. “You sure?” I asked. He only nodded and then shooed me out the room. Before going out Ethan suddenly said, “I wanted to tell you in the afternoon but you were moody and all. The Firestone pack is coming for a visit. They were close friends to your dad.”   

         Oh man. This is going to be hard. The Alpha acts like a grandpa to me. He lectures me a lot about everything I do. I nodded my head and went straight to the kitchen to fill up my stomach. My muscle were stiff and I couldn’t really feel my legs so I decided to take a run and check out the Firestone’s pack to just check them out.
