Chasing YouChasing You

Water Fight
“Hey Sehun,” he smiled nervously. “You wouldn’t mind if I started dating Ah Reum, right?”
“What?” Sehun asked, taken aback by the sudden question.
Yixing smiled meekly. “You heard me.”
Sehun growled. “Don’t play with me, Yixing.”
“I’m not,” he defended.
Sehun rolled his eyes. “Of course, I mind,” he hissed.
“Why is that?” Yixing asked, feeling somewhat angered by his friend’s tone.
“Do you really want someone following you for ten years?” Sehun asked as if it was just a joke. Yixing clenched his fists. His anger growing every time Sehun opened his mouth to speak. “You don’t even really like her. Why would you make her think that you do?”
“Oh, and it makes it even better that you continuously mislead her?” Yixing snapped.
Just then, the bell rung, leaving the two motionless with their backs turned to one another. The loud cheers of the freshmen was barely audible, for the silence between the two was much louder. Never had Yixing argued with Sehun before. In fact, it was always Sehun who started arguments with him. Luhan was always the person who stood in the middle and told them to stop or the problem would just escalate. They argued pretty often, but Yixing never hated Sehun. Neither did he want to yell at him and tell him that he’s wrong because Sehun was never wrong.
Except now, he thought.
He remembered that time when Sehun got so angry when he heard about the rumors concerning Ah Reum. Like any normal childhood friend, it was natural for him to get angry, but he was beyond angry. He yelled at everyone, glared at anyone who looked at him, and repeatedly threatened to kill the person who spread the so called rumor. His behavior caught Yixing off guard since Sehun normally didn’t care about rumors. He seemed to understand how strong Ah Reum and Sehun’s friendship was because he totally did not understand before he became one of Sehun’s best friends, even though Sehun didn’t really consider him as one.
“Ah Reum wouldn’t like it if she heard what you said,” Yixing finally said.
Sehun turned to him with a glare on his face. “Do I look like I care?”
“You obviously do,”
The look on Sehun’s face softened and for once, he did not know what to do or say. Yixing’s question came to mind. The simple ten-word question that could’ve been answered with a ‘Yes’ or a ‘No’ intimidated him. He answered it without a single second to spare, and upon doing so, he said things he did not mean. However, he did not know how to react. This was the first time someone took interest in Ah Reum and for some reason, Sehun did not like it. What bothered him even more is that the person who’s interested in her is his own friend.
Yixing scratched his head in frustration. Sehun still did not answer his question and he’s late to class. Suho already warned him last time about skipping, but he couldn’t help it since his mother needed him. Of course, Suho didn’t mind if it was Sehun who skipped his class because the foolish teacher of his liked to think that Ah Reum and Sehun were hanging out. His imaginations were never true since Sehun never skipped class. Until today, that is.
“I’m leaving,” Yixing announced, grabbing his backpack swiftly, trying to ignore Sehun’s cold gaze.
….
Ah Reum stared at the building in a daze with her feet resting gently in the water. Suho’s class started fifteen minutes ago, but she was just simply not in the mood to come after the events of yesterday. If she were to go to class, then she’d have to smile and be her usual self, whom she could barely recognize anymore. She didn’t know why she had to keep this act up. But then she remembered– it was all for Sehun.
She seldom skipped class, but when she did, she always knew that Sehun would be out there looking for her. He wasn’t, though. After all, he looked so happy yesterday with the bag he was carrying around. Ah Reum never found out what was inside the bag, but she didn’t dare to ask because she had already guessed that it was from Da Eun. Thus, the smile on his face.
She kicked the water in frustration and mentally scolded herself for almost kicking the statue in the process. Kyungsoo would surely kill her if he found out that she not only skipped class, but skipped class while sitting on the fountain. He was really strict about these kinds of things and the fact that she was not necessarily his favorite student could really make things worse. Sehun would yell at her if
