'Another Star in the Making' Her trainers and family always say her hardwork and determination show how much she truly wants this. From staying up till the early morning to get a choreo just right to spending extra attention in different classes. Along with her stubborn tendiencies to not give up, she sees this as her only option to do what she loves. Once, she wants to do something it's fairly hard to get her to turn away from it or even pause it.

'A Ball of Anxiety' She is always anxious about something, having been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. Mingxia prefers being quiet and in her own mind most of the time and takes awhile to open up to others fully.

bckground. born in ansan, lianong, china to a family of three, she was raised happily. Both her and her older brother fell in love with dancing at a young age. He leaned towards b-boying while their parents put her in ballet classes. The two were inseperable for a good chunk of time, they were only 3 years apart which meant they were never really in school together except for primary school. They spent most of their free time together at home, playing games or listening to music. 

When her brother left to South Korea to begin his next journey, she felt empty. She was happy for him but also sad she wouldn't see him at all. When he was announced to debut, her parents sent her along with her mother to go watch his debut stage. While walking the streets of Myeongdong during their short trip she was scouted by an RBW rep, who urged her to audition. 

Auditioning via webcam when they returned to China, she was soon the next Xu to leave the house. Following after her dream as well, even it meant practicing a new langauge and staying up for hours

the two have gotten closer again, once mingxia, became a trainee. the two sharing an understanding of the struggle of being a trainee in a foriegn country. The two get dinner together on their birthdays, if they are able to. He gives her advice, and is her biggest supporter.

they weren't very close when mingxia was younger but, after leaving to korea the three have only gotten closer. she would call them when she felt homesick, or when she just need someone to talk to. the three all attend Beijing Contemporary Music School, most of their classes are online. The three became friends after finding out that she was also in Korea, to become an idol. 2020 : While getting ready to debut, Mingxia notices how much they have actually all grown together. Some more than others.

What company is she under?what was their trainee life like? How long were they a trainee?

— she started training at 14, and it was hard was one of the only foreign trainees, learning Korean and practicing alongside trainees she couldn't understand. She was attending school online, on top of learning a new langauge and training. Training was hard, she was constantly home sick, and felt like it was a dead end dream unlike her brother's. She's been under RBW since 2015.

What was her reaction hearing that she was chosen? How did she feel, knowing she was chosen over her teammates?

— she burst into tears, as some of her teammates congratulated her. She excited, reliefed, and nervous all at the same time. With a tinge of guilt, over having to leave some of the girls she trained alongside behind.

— six, there were multiple variations of the potential girls. mingxia was in every one. they preformed a cover 'egotistic' by mamamoo, that mingxia arranged. she was lead vocal, main dancer.

— 2015: the two orginally met, when her brother first debuted, she couldn't speak Korean at all. You can imagine how 14 year old Mingxia blushed, meeting the older boys of Seventeen. She isntantly had a crush on Vernon, just by his appearance. Her brother or Jun translated for her and her mom. Even though the weren't that good in Korean either. 
When SEVENTEEN, found out that she was moving to Korea, they were excited knowing how happy Minghao would be to have someone closer. Mingxia slowly started visiting them more and more, Vernon slowly becoming her korean teacher with Jun by his side to translate any words they couldn't get across. 

2018: As Mingxia got to know Vernon, the more her crush grew. Fast forward 3 years, and the two were closer than anyone would've expected. Vernon knew he had to talk to Minghao about his growing crush at some point. But, considered since she was going to become an idol they wouldn't be able to date till further down the road anyways. Plus, SEVENTEEN were in the height of their popularity. 

Mingxia with a similar mindset stopped visiting as much, trying to suppress her feelings as much as possible. Focusing on school and her future career. Vernon never really knew the future idol version of Mingxia, just knew how much she wanted to debut and stand on the same stage as her brother. 

Vernon didn't know how much he truly liked her, until an interveiw with whole group with the question, 'Who would you want your sister to date?', when THE8 pointed out Vernon, his heart leaped for joy knowing he would easily get her brothers permission. 

2019: Vernon was amoung the members, Hoshi, Woozi and Dino, whom were part of the idols at the showcase with the excutives. As staff members handed out clip boards, they began flipping through them trying to get familiar with the names and faces of each company. Jun exclaimed as he spotted Mingxia's photo under RBW, causing a ruckus amoung them. Vernon smiling to himself seeing her smiling in the photo. When it came to her group to be on stage, and they did their introductions. The four clapped more enthusiastically, after she introduced herself. 

"I don't think any of us have seen her in a suit before." Hoshi commented beside Vernon, whom smiled as she nodded her head the other girls introducing themselves. Vernon mentally taking a picture of her standing on stage.
