so what happened to little raquel to make her who she is today? well, let's start with her parents. miguel fernandez da silva santos was a world class football player who played for the english premier league team Everton. he was their star striker and could do anything and was dubbed "mr reliable" for everton. he was being payed millions of dollars just for being on he field, but off field? he wasn't happy. his father arranged a marriage for him with han iseul, a korean girl who worked for their family. sadly, he couldn't do anything to stop his marriage and when baby raquel was born, his wife fled, which left him with a child who looked nothing like him.

now moving to raquel. she grew up unloved by many of her family nembers. why? it's cause of her appearance. her relatives couldn't believe that she was related to them by blood and not just by name. it disgusted them everytime raquel shows up at their houses during thanksgiving and dinner. they would always roll their eyes as little raquel fought for attention that every toddler wanted. no one, not even her father wanted to look at her. why does her father hate her? well because of raquel, he was forced out of Everton and no one heard of him since then. he hated the little girl for ruining his perfect career and took it out on her.

what was their trainee life like? How long were they a trainee?

BIG HIT ENTERTAINMENT (2016-PRESENT)

raquel had it hard during training. she knew nothing of what she was getting herself into unlike others who had passion in it. the only reason raquel became a trainee was because she wanted to start a new life but this was beyond her expectations. raquel was a burden to everyone in class and was often scolded for being slow. not only that, raquel had to fight her inner demons that would haunt her every single time she does a mistake. having been brought up in such a hateful place, raquel was afraid of judgement and everyone could see that, which was why jimin became her pillar. he kept her going. jimin saw potential in her and was always there to help her despite being busy 24/7. he kept her going during practice or after practice. he had shaped her into becoming a woman who grew to love herself. jimin also shaped her to become more and more knowledgable in dancing as well as singing while raquel tried her hardest to improve in rapping. raquel's life was easier thanks to her close friend and since then, her dancing, singing and rapping skills became almost as good as trainees who trained for a lot of years depsite having started from rock bottom. seeing her growth, the ceo decided to put her into small solo projects such as putting her in front of the crowds in hongdae to perform covers as well as posting videos of her singing on youtube under the company's youtube channel to expose her but only her voice was revealed as well as the alias "solyn".

raquel is under bighit entertainment and was shocked to hear that she was chosen. compared to her teammates, she was the one with the least training experience and was also lacking in one aspect, and that was dancing. however, she was also grateful to know that she was chosen since this shows that she had potential despite started with no knowledge in music or performing. when she was chosen, she couldn't stop apologising to her teammates who were nothing but super supportive over their company's pick since they know how far raquel has come.

before the two got to see each other in real life, the two have heard about one another through friends or simply because they're fans of one another. heungmin was actually a fan of raquel. he enjoyed her short covers of songs while she was under the name solyn and instantly fell in love with her voice. raquel was a fan of heungmin since she's a huge fan of tottenham hotspurs, the football club he plays with and instantly fell for heungmin's childish yet mature charms. they each knew each other through the small screens of their phones and television, but how did they meet in person?

well, through mutual friends. heungmin is friends with park seojoon and seojoon is friends with raquel's friend, taehyung. during a hangout in 2018, that was when the two officially met. of course, heungmin doesn't know raquel was the voice of solyn and raquel didn't plan on telling him since her agency told her not to tell anyone. well, as cliche as it sounds, raquel and heungmin exchanged numbers on the day of their hangout after finding out their common interests and found that they had a lot in common.

when raquel became part of trance, heungmin finally got to hear her singing and boy was he shocked to hear that she was solyn. right there and then, he fell even more for her since he fell for her voices years ago. however, that was one secret out.

raquel was sure that heungmin will never get to know of her past as well as her relation with neymar, but boy was she wrong. it was the day where she was free to hangout with heungmin who had flew all the way to korea just to meet her during international break. the two hung out quietly in an unknown cafe so that fans would not be present. while they were catching up, raquel told him that she needed to go to the washroom but she left her phone behind.

long short story, her phone rang and neymar was the caller. his caller id? "cousin ney 💖" along with his picture showed up on screen and heungmin had the perfect view of her cousin's unglam that shone proudly. he was shocked to say the least and confronted her about it when she returned from the washroom. he told her to tell her the truth and that he promised not to get mad. of course, hearing those reassuring words, raquel had to tell him. she felt the need to and when she did, she felt as though a whole heavy weight was lifted off her shoulders. he promised not to tell anyone and found himself falling for her more after hearing about her vulnerable side.

HOW THEY ACT AROUND EACH OTHER

the two are always seen on their phones, texting one another whenever they have free time. literally, after practice, the first thing raquel do is pick up her phone and text heungmin. same goes for heungmin, whenever he's done with training, he'll always text raquel with a smile on his face. everyone can tell that the two like each other a lot, especially since whenever there's news, they'll always tell one another first before anyone else. the two also facetime quite a lot ever since they exchange numbers and would never miss a day depsite having two different time zones. heungmin has raquel's back while raquel has heungmin's back. there are times where raquel would breakdown and rant to heungmin who would always listen to her because he's too smitten over her.

2020 : ever since raquel shared her past with heungmin, he gets very protective whenever he sees raquel sad or hurt because he felt like he holds responsibility. she trusted him with her biggest secret and showed her vulnerable, broken side when everyone sees her as this intimidating ssenunni. heungmin felt like he plays a big role in her life, and he is not wrong. when jimin isn't around, heungmin becomes her pillar of support. whenever things get hard and neymar becomes busy, heungmin is the guy raquel goes to. heungmin supports her decisions and would always send her encouraging videos if she were to get nervous.

it's pretty obvious the two are practically in love with each other, but they're too afraid to say anything. raquel is afraid of rejection whereas heungmin is afraid of ruining the friendship he built with the girl he loved. not many know of their friendship and only a few close friends know of their friendship as well as their budding romance
