Narae loves art. Her favorite form of art is drawing and painting although she only has it as a hobby at home or in her spare time. She doesn't care what type of paint she uses if it's painting. Kim Narae was born on June, 25 1996. She was the youngest in the family which consisted of an older brother (Youngmin) and sister (Yoonjo). Her mother and father met during a study abroad trip during college. Her father took a study abroad program in the states for a year. During the first month there, he became friends with a small group of people at school,  Ashley (her english name), being one of them. She caught his eye by being one of the few people there who were interested in Korean culture so Inchul introduced her bit by bit. He taught her hangul while she taught him english. They tiptoed around their feelings for a good few months before Inchul had the courage to aske Ashely to be his girlfriend. Although he would have to go home in 3 months time, they spent the remaining time he had there together. They made plans to stay in a long distance relationship while they both saved up money to visit each other often. Within 6 months, Ashley went to visit him and stay in Korea for a month before she had to leave. It would be the same for inchul, staying with her for a month at a time. While this was hard for them in the beginning, once graduation happened, Inchul was able to stay with her in Korea for 6 months while on a visa. although many people said they were moving to fast,  they got engaged a few weeks before the 6 months were up and married in korea the day before she had to leave. They  had to seperate for a brief period of time while they were getting her paperwork ready for her to come live in korea permemntly with him while she was getting her things ready from the states, paperwork and all. Once everything was approved (tests and all), she was able to proudly call herself a citizen of korea and be able to stay with her husband.

It wasn't long after that they had the oldest child, Youngmin and soon after Yoonjo. They met the requirement of always getting Ashley's paperwork done everyyear to be renewed as well as being able to be financially stable for the visa paperwork. Although it was a bit tough at first, Inchul was able to move up in his job and is now the CEO of a popular car brand, KIA. When Narae was born, she had it easier than her siblings. For youngmin, they were strict on him since he was the first born. It was why he was able to go to go to school for law and eventually make it to law school. For Yoonjo, she was treated nicer than youngmin but still had a strict upbringing since their parents just wanted was was best for them. She went into the makeup industry and became a stylist like she wanted. Although it wasn't what her parents wanted, they were fine with it since it's something taht made her happy. Narae on the other hand, was babied by her parents. She was the youngest as well as the one who didn't want to go to college at first. She knew from a young age when she saw BOA on stage on tv that she wanted to become an idol.  They signed Narae up for dance classes and singing classes as well to help her get enough practice for future auditions. Her siblings were a bit envious on how they let Narae go through with trying to become an idol that they didn't talk to her much for a  year or two while auditions were hapening for her. It was during this time when she started feeling isolated when it came to her siblings. To help over come it, even though she was still young, she began trying to write songs as well as raps. IT was the one thing that would bring her peace of mind while fighting was going on between her siblings and herself. It began affecting her parents too since they began getting after them for not encouraging narae to be what she wants to be. 

It wasn't until Narae auditioned for JYP that her siblings had a change of heart. They saw how much work Narae put into her audition and for her to not be allowed to even finishe her showing her potential, she was cut. Shw was broken hearted that she stayed in her room for a few days, missing her classes as well. Yoonjo and Youngmin went in and comforted Narae for the rest of the day as their parents smililed knowing everything would be alright. Youngmin began helping her sister with rap battles (apparently, he has always been good at rapping...who'd have thought.) while her sister helped her with dancing and making choreography with Narae. She still took classes for singing and dance but became an individual trainee and began practicing with her famliy. it became a group effort. 

While Narae was in 3rd year in high school (about to graduate), she still auditioned for companies but began focusing on school more. Her music teacher, as a last effort, filmed an audition video for Narae in the practice room. Narae was able to showcase everything she's been working on and was able to do the video in a one shot.  she felt thankful to her music teacher for helping her out and rooting for her when many people gave up on her even making it passed the first round of auditions. It was a Saturday morning when Narae recieved a phone call from Cube. At first she thought it was a joke but apparently her music teacher posted the video of Narae and sent it to Cube. They were scouting different places for new trainees that when one took a look at Narae's video, they wanted to get in contact with her. Her music teacher  (Mrs. Lee) gave the contact information to Cube and they reached out to her hte very next day with news of her becoming a trainee. Everyone began congradulating Narae for making it into a company. Her dreams were finally about to come true.

They were always seen together and would help each other whenever possible. She would help her with her korean and dances while Nanami would help Narae with her Japanese and singing. Even when she had to leave to start training with the girls of trance, Nanami was supportive and only said she would be onstage with her soon. They both bring out the competitive side of one another while still being sincere and caring. 

— Mother : Kim Doyeon (Ashley) // 63 // 10 Headstrong, confident and loving is the words used for Narae's mom. Since she left everything in her home country, she started over in Korea and was able to have an amazing little family. She speaks english and korean to her kids to help them be multilingual. Ashley or Doyeon (her korean name) is always supportive of her children and their dreams. As long as she is able to take them to her family in the US once in awhile, she is mostly fine with whatever they like to do. She is always their cheerleaders and is always there for them if they'd like to talk. She is like Narae's best friend if she was honest. Even when her mom goes to work as a secretary, she knows that if she is needed she'll be there. 

— father : Kim Inchul / 60 / strict, caring, proud / 9. Inchul is the bread maker for the most part in the family. Becasue of that, he had to put in long hours at the start of his job. Now, he is able to spend time and support his family. He still will scold his daughter if she needs it to push her foward but he is usually caring to her. He's proud of all this children and always does his best to make every event they have.

Her brother and her talk for hours on end when she has time about the latest games coming out as well as horror films since out of everyone in her family, they both like horror. Because of this, she is  closer to him than her sister.

what was their trainee life like? How long were they a trainee?

— Narae was a trainee for 4 years. Although she was scouted, she was able to show her talents in rapping , dance and singing. She has more confidence in her dance and rapping than she does for her singing. During her trainee years, she began to focus on getting better at everything, only resting when she had to sleep or eat. She practically lived at the trainning rooms there. Although she did break down at times, she made sure to keep a happy and positive attitude until she was alown in a practice room or in the bathroom of the dorms. She doesn't like anyone seeing her feel weak or have a hard time so she began being good at showing only what she wanted others to see, her hard work and dedicatoin. She didn't mind not being able to sleep as much as she wanted or not being able to eat her favorite snacks, she just wanted to perservere and make it to debut. 

What company is she under? What was her reaction hearing that she was chosen? How did she feel, knowing she was chosen over her teammates?

— Narae is under Cube Entertainment. She was excited but only let a smile show on her face while she said thank you. Once it was only her and her group mates, she jumped around in happiness, saying "I'm going to make everyone proud!" . Internally though, she was saying to herself  "i'm taking this chance for me. To help me grow and blossom even more."

PRSONLITY.

— Gong Chanshik Is a variety of things if honest. He is a cute, aegyo filled guy sometimes (even tho he's not used to doing it much). He is very mischevious and sneaky according to his friends since he likes to play around and pull pranks on those close to him.He can be shy at first glance as well as chic because of his looks but once he begins talking , he becomes confident and talks to others as if he's known them for years. He has a dorky side that comes out sometimes but usually only with those he is the closest and most comfortable with. He's not exactly a loud individual but he does love competing and games which in turn do make him loud. Although he is all of this, he is quiet and pondering as well. He usually is talkative to others but once he is in the car or sitting down somewhere, he will stay quiet and pensive, just calm for a lack of a better word. He likes to just think about the day or moments that happened which make him smile. 

FIRST MEETING.(2015) 

— Narae and Gong Chanshik met entirely by chance.She was playing Leauge of Legends one day and left the random fill section on without her knowing as she left to get some water. As she returned, she put her headphones on and began humming a small tune when she heard a voice on the other end.

"Are you singing "Only One" By Boa sunbaenim?"

Her eyes went wide as she realized she left the random fill on and was debating if she should talk to this guy or not. She didn't want to be rude and spoke back,

"Yes, she's my role model."

The stranger and her began talking about random songs they favorited while waiting for the game to start. Once the game began, it switched from talking about songs to talking about the game. They spoke to one another of there they wanted to land, go and stuck to one another to make sure the other was alive and well in the game. It wasn't until they won that they calmed down and became so happy.

"We won! I can't believe it!"

They both said at the same time. They both smiled before Gongchan sent her a friend request. "If it's alright with you, do you wanna play another round? I already sent you a friend request."

Without warning, he left to the lobby so she followed suit. She accepted his friend request and joined his party so they could play more. They ended up playing for a good few hours (when she should've been asleep). They talked about everything when they weren't focused on the game and realized they enjoyed each others company. It didn't feel awkward at all, just....comfortable. She chalked it up to being able to thank fortnite for finding her a good friend. When it was about time for both of them to call to quits, he asked her what other games she plays and if he could add her there if she didn't mind. She gave him her id and said good night  before saying i'll be on tomorrow to play again and logging off. 

lovestory. 

— As time went on, they began chatting more and more during games until they began talking in messaging.They became close/best friends that would always like to know what is going on in their lives. The only thing was that Narae didn't know who Chanshik was until a few months later. Narae was upfront about what she was doing and how she was training to become an idol. Gongchan on the other had, kept his identity a secret for the first few months of their friendship. It's happened once or twice before that once people find out they are talking to him, they start to treat him different and he didn't want that.He made a private instagram and other sns sites so he could talk and post there without having to worry about anyone fangirling about him. Everything was going well for awhile until she noticed when he would post a selca, he would never post one of his face. She asked him for a selca or if he could post one on insta and he said okay. She instantly liked it and said "You look so cute. Funny thing is you remind me of gongchan from b1a4." He was stunned for a moment before he replied back. "I keep hearing that. I have a few friends that call me his twin." She didn't ask or say anything after that, just agreed with him and moved foward. 

*When she went to B1A4's 5th anniversary fanmeeting, she told Gongchan how excited she was. She normally didn't fangirl but she felt like this would be fine, to just let chanshik know how she has been wanting to see them. They had a nice conversation until she had to log off and head to the concert hall. He told her to message her once she reached there to make sure she was safe. He smiled to himself as he realized she liked his group before getting up and heading out as well to meet with his group members.  He was searching for her as they performed on stage, spotting her in the 4th row and doing a grand amount of fanservice in that area. At the end of the night after the concert, the members were talking about how the fanmeet went. They noticed how Gongchan kept heading over to one area more often than not. Gongchan doesn't like to talk about his personal relationships much but he started to talk about how he might be interested in a girl he has been talking to. they were happy but when they found out he hasn't told her about his work life, they scolded him. 

CNU: "I  know it's not our relationship but you need to be open with her and tell her what you do for a living."

Jinyoung: "She'll like you even if she finds out you're a celebrity."

"Yeah and if not, then Sunwoo and I will go bother her until she accepts you" Sandeul said jokingly. 

He laughed at his hyung's words before saying he would do it. 

That night, he got on the computer late and noticed Narae was online.  He began talking to her and asked if he could video chat with her. She thought it was weird  since they never actually video chatted before but agreed to it. He surprised her with an enthusiastic greeting as they saw one another on the computer and began talking about how their day went. 

"How was the concert?

"It was amazing. Gongchan kept coming over to my side...i think he became my bias from that." Narae said shyly.

"I'm glad you said that actually. I've been wanting to tell you something for sometime now but never knew how to tell you.I'm Gong Chanshik from B1A4."

Narae didn't believe him since she thought it wasn't possible that she just so happened to befriend gongchan. "Yeah right. Quit fooling around and tell me what you wanted to tell me chanshik."

He frowned and began trying to convince her that what he said is the truth. She still didn't believe him fully, she was just skeptical.

"Look. tomorrow i have the day off and i know you have lunch breaks between practices. Let's meet up at xx park and i'll bring someone who will prove to you that i'm who i say i am."

She agreed to it and said good night to him since she had to be up in 2 hours.The next day passed quickly and before she knew it, it was lunch time. she left the company to go grab a quick bite to eat with "Gongchan"  but first had to meet him at the place he said the other day. When she reached the park, she just sat down in the swing set and waited for his arrival. She heard a cough coming from behind her so she turned to look. Behind her was two men with facemasks on. She was going to say something but Chanshik pulled his mask down and greeted her. She was confused about the other person next to him but he said he'd introduce them when they reached a resturant nearby for lunch. Once they sat down in a booth, Chanshik introduced the man as sandeul. She was in shock for a few minutes before she stood up and bowed to both of them. "I'm sorry i didn't believe you." she said loudly to him before he told her to calm down and to relax. The rest of the lunch, they were all talking and laughing as if they'd known each other for years (in which case gongchan and narae had). 

They kept on talking, having meet ups and playing games together, despite their busy schedules. They enjoyed being in each others company even if they weren't able to physically meet one another. Narae went to a few B1A4 concerts and she made Chanshik promise to come to her debut stage whenever it did happen. Everything was going well until one of his fans noticed he'd been out and about recently with a mystery girl. After that small slip up, they had to lay low for quite a bit. They didn't have outings as much anymore and only conversed on the phone, messages, video calls and games. 

After that close call, they waited a month before they were able to have secret outings again. It was around that time that Narae realized she liked him since absence does make the heart grow fonder. She kept it a secret though since she didn't want to lose her best friend. She did her best to keep her feelings pushed down and to herself while only focusing on her friendship and on her dream to be able to debut. It was around this time (December 2018-January 2019) when she recieved news from gongchan about the possible contract renewals that all the members of his group had. Three of the members were ready to resign their contract and stay with their company but the other 2 members were on the fence, wanting to be able to do more than just their music and branch out into acting and etc. He started to take it to heart and didn't know who else to talk to besides s. He called her up and they had a long phone call. He talked about his worries, fears, hopes and wishes with everything happening with their contracts and team. She did her best to calm him down and told him that although it wasn't what he wanted, he needed to be happy for them. Enjoy the time they had together until they did have to go their seperate ways but just know that your friendship will always live on. Just always support one another. IT was all she could say to calm him down since she hadn't gone through what he was going through at that moment. He agreed and the following day, they met up so she could comfort him and help him enjoy his day instead of overthinking and being emotional

After everything calmed down slightly in their lives, Gongchan went to the debut stage of Trance. He kept his word to her and would always be there to support her, even if he was busy. They kept in touch and would still try and do meet ups on the days they both had off. He ended up confessing to her after her 2 year mark in the group since any earlier would have been bad timing on his part and would probably be bad for her and her company as well as group.

The confession was cheesy to say the least. He made his own server for him and her that he worked on for the past few weeks to make sure it was perfect. He spelt out the words "Will you be my girlfriend?" into the landscape only to surround it with little virtual trinkets she loves. He sent her a request to join and while they waited in the lobby, he started to talk to her about their friendship.
