Before you start reading, I should probably warn you that this is going to be one long and pointless blog post...

The thing is, that I‘m insanely interested in my own music playcount (emphasis on insane), so even though I doubt anybody is interested, I‘m going to share with you my most played K-pop songs of 2014.

By no means am I claiming these are the *best* K-pop songs of 2014... Apart from the fact that I obviously haven‘t listened to all the songs that were released, and that some of the songs on the list were published before 2014, these are just the songs that I played the most, for whatever reason.

I‘m going to do this in two parts, 2PM songs and non-2PM songs... because, well... I‘m biased... and my list is a bit dominated by 2PM, but I do listen to other stuff... So I‘ll keep it separate so other songs won‘t get drowned in the sea of 2PM lol....

The format is: Artist-song-playcount, and if I started listening to the song before 2014, I‘ll give the total playcount in parenthesis..

Oh, and playcount is not a direct indicator of love for the song... some songs just play more easy than others (are easier to work while listening to them for example), and some songs get added in months when I‘m traveling and listen to less music so... they don‘t get played as much...

So there are lots and lots of songs that I think are great, but didn‘t make it on the list... Also, I listen to a lot of music, so if I play a song 100 times or something, it doesn‘t necessarily mean I love the song *more* than someone who played it 30 times... It‘s not a competition... just meant for fun :)

Live versions are not counted together with studio versions. And japanese and korean versions are not counted together, so I‘ll mark them with (kor) or (jap) accordingly, when unclear.

My most played 2PM songs of 2014:

1. Junho - Can‘t Let you go (jap) - 484

A song I don‘t think I could ever get tired off. And I can relate, because when it comes to 2PM...

2. 2PM - Beautiful Day - 464

My favorite song of the Genesis album. Simply awesome.

3. Jun.K - No Love (jap) - 356

Hearing this song live is just... It can‘t be described.

4. Jun.K - With You - 352

If I‘m being completely honest... I don‘t always get Minjun‘s songwriting, so I didn‘t necessarily expect his solo album to be my thing... But man, was I blown away. It‘s amazing, and hands down one of the best K-pop albums of the year (even though it was released in Japan) (and yes I know I’m seriously 2pm biased lol). And this is a song that just makes you happy.

5. Chansung - All of Me (John Legend cover) - 327

If my baby is singing so sweetly, of course I‘m going to fall in love with it.

6. 2PM - Merry-go-round - 282

Love Woo-baby‘s songwriting and I love this song.

7. Chansung + Taecyeon - 사랑한단 말- 243

My favorite (new) song of the Korean album. My baby writing songs and everything, and a bittersweet one at that.

8. Wooyoung - Give Up - 234

Usually, I keep emergency stash for when I‘m really 2PM deprived, so I didn‘t start listening to this song until December... and man I‘m so in love I can‘t even describe it.

9. Wooyoung - 반딧불을 따라서 (LEL) - 228

When Wooyoung sings... it‘s just one of the best things ever. Love that man‘s voice so much it‘s not even funny.

10. Nichkhun - Try - 227  (total: 810)

My security blanket.

11. 2PM - Go Crazy - 212

The Korean MV song.

12. Junho - I Love You - 204 (total: 481)

Possibly the sweetest song in the universe.

13. 2PM - Still - 202

I don‘t know how the hell I missed this song. But somehow I did, and believe me I cried happy tears of joy when I found it. Love it.

14. 2PM - Mine - 190

Possibly the fan-favorite of the Go Crazy album, I can understand why that would be.

15. Jun.K - No Music No Life  - 187

Another great one from his jap album... and just fits him so incredibly well.

16. Wooyoung - This is Love – 152 (total: 513)

This is just one of those songs me and my corny heart can listen to endlessly... (Yes, I‘m in love with Jang Wooyoung, in case you were asking)

17. Junho - Turn it up - 137

Not exactly typical for Junho (though it‘s difficult to say because he writes all kinds of songs)... but I absolutely love it. (His falsetto in the end is my fav part)

18. Junho + Nichkhun - Love is True - 132

I love Junho‘s songwriting... and this is a song that is super-cute and just makes you happy.

19. 2PM - Fight - 129

This song is just awesome, and the live version is even better. Yes, I‘m also in love with Taec‘s song writing... the cheesier the better...

20. Jun.K - Real Love - 126

This song is just SO DAMN beautiful... and Jun.K‘s singing is simply stunning *sighs*

Now that is over, but what about other groups?

“What does Kitsu listen to when she‘s not listening to 2PM?” Is a question that nobody asked never, but I’m still going to answer it, so here we go:

My most played K-pop songs of 2014:

1. HA:TFELT (WG Yenny) - Ain’t Nobody - 375

My favorite (non-2PM) K-pop song of the year, and favorite MV too. Absolutely Amazing. Wonderfully desperate song about loving someone that doesn’t love you back.

2. TVXQ (Homin) - Off-Road - 324

I love this song so damn much…. Changmin’s high pitched voice, and Yunho’s sweet one… It’s amazing. One of my all time fav Homin songs…

3. Kim Jaejoong (TVXQ/JYJ) - Rotten Love - 263

Jaejoong’s voice is just… there’s not anything like it. The whole album was awesome, and this song made me wonder if I should move back to listening to rock, and say goodbye to K-pop for a while… I haven’t gone yet…. But once 2PM go to the army, I might.

4. JYJ - Letting Go - 213

Apart from one drabble, I’ve kept my identity as a Cassie relatively hidden here on AFF, but I would say I’m a semi-serious one. Love all 5 of them, a lot, in any shape or form. And it’s not a secret that vocally tvxq were one of the best groups K-pop has ever seen (and in my own personal opinion probably the best). This year’s JYJ album is probably my favorite one, from the three of them, and this is my favorite song from it.

5. Kim Jaejoong (TVXQ/JYJ) - Now is Good - 210

Like a hug when you need it the most.

6. Epik High - With You - 204

Honestly, as a rule, I’m not that into rap.

Tablo is an exception, because that man is frigging amazing, and incredibly talented, and this song is just super sad and sweet… And I don’t know how to say this without sounding creepy, so don’t take this too literally, but the lyrics of this songs are like an exact description of a fangirl’s life.

(And I know it’s cheating, but if you haven’t already, you just HAVE to listen to Amor Fati, the lyrics are just… Listen to it, because it’s amazing piece of art, and the song is (indirectly) dedicated to gay people.)

7. Beast - So Hot - 165

I’m a bit of a Beauty, or maybe more than a bit, and this album, Time, is probably my favorite one from them since Fiction and Fact… It’s just so good, and this song is my favorite, love it so much, I can’t even describe it. Junhyung in the beginning just Kills me… And since I’m in love with all of their voices it’s like, every single part of this song is perfection.

8. HA:TFELT (WG Yenny)  - Nothing Lasts Forever- 155

This is a song Yenny wrote in the memory of a Wonder Girls’ fan that died of brain tumor.

Heartbreaking.

9. U-Kiss - 끼부리지마- 151

There are a lot of U-kiss songs I love, and this is one of my favorites. I just Love this song. 

(and no, not just because of the ty MV… though I’m not hating on it either ;))

10. HA:TFELT (WG Yenny) - Iron Girl - 145

A song about that being pretty is not all there is to this world, and being a woman of strength is something to admire and aspire to. In a world where people use plastic to try to become gold, she sings about inner strength and the importance of being the main character in your own story. Did I mention that Yenny is Amazing? Well, she ing is.

11. JYJ - Back Seat - 140

Yes, I love them.

12. HA:TFELT (WG Yenny) - Peter Pan - 123

Since you could say I have somewhat of a Peter-Pan syndrome, this one rings particularly true. Apparently, Yenny had thoughts about disappearing from this world because she was facing so many hardships and dealing with the cruel reality. And she didn’t understand why Wendy chose to return to real life, because if she was Wendy and had it her way, she would stay in Neverland forever.

13. Roh Jihoon - 너를 노래해 (Feat. 쇼리)  - 117

Just in case you’re reading this, Roh Jihoon: I seriously love you, and really really really really wish you to release some songs this year. Please *begs* Noona promises to buy your CD!

14. Rain - 차에 타봐 - 115

Doesn’t everyone love Rain? At least I’m not the exception.

15. Jung Yunho (TVXQ) - 11월...그리고 (November With Love) - 113

Although it is often forgotten, this man can sing. He really, really can.

16. Beast - How to Love – 103 (total: 119)

When this song was released in 2013, I wasn’t in that much of a Beast-mode at the time, so I just listened to it during 2014 instead, awesome song.

17. Lee Taemin (SHINee) - Play Me - 103

Taemin’s solo album is really good. This song, and Ace (with awesome back vocals from TVXQ’s Changmin) are my favorites.

18. Taeyang (Big Bang) - Eyes, Nose, Lips - 103

Officially, my Big Bang fangirling is on indefinite hiatus… But I made an exception for this song, and it’s amazing… I also listened to the Tablo version like 70 times, because it’s awesome. I haven’t listened to the rest of the Taeyang album… but probably will someday, if my hiatus ends.

19. C.N. Blue - Still - 102

I really like CNblue, and have been listening to them casually since, 2010 I think, and this is one of my favorite CNblue songs.

20. Beast - 12시 30분 - 102

I love this album

Aaaan that’s it… now I’m finally done.. Anyone still with me? LOL…

If anyone read my second list carefully he/she might have noticed that my list isn’t exactly dominated by the newer K-pop groups… It’s not that I don’t listen to them… it’s just… *shrugs*

But because of that I want to give a shout out to my favorite song of the year by a debut group:

Halo -이쁜게 죄야 – 84

Again, definitely not claiming it’s the best song by a debut group, but the one that I played the most, and it just makes me happy.

Anywho… that’s it… I might put up a list with my most played groups later… I donno (three guesses which group comes on top lol)…

I’ll do it if I feel like it, I’m a bit sick so I don’t really have anything better to do lol…
