I know we've had the event history under the globe notification dropdown before but people didn't seem to care for it so much so I had moved it to the sidebar. I'm going to try it again and added a few tweaks to it to see if it really will be useful.

So aside from the event history notifications going back into the globe dropdown, authors will get notified of who subscribes to which of their stories (as before) and they will now also be notified whenever one of their stories gets upvoted (just click on the event history link and it will lead directly to the story that was subscribed to or voted on). You're now also able to clear out your event history through the "Clear All" link if you just like having that area clean (especially if you're on the Opera Mini theme). Gold members also get double the capacity for their histories (the event history list uses cache instead of hard disk space so it processes transactions much faster but it also has 100x less capacity).

Anyway, I'm still a little iffy on bringing back the event history list onto the globe icon since it got such a lukewarm reception the last time so let's consider this another trial run.
