I've had the "ability to exclude tags" feature request on my to-do list for years but I didn't have the technology at the time to implement it. One of our moderators suggested it again recently and I gave her the same reasons as to why it couldn't be done. But that got me thinking about it again. All that code maintenance I've been doing over the years might have changed something that would help with this. So I managed to figure something out and give you the ability to exclude tags from both your tag search results and your tag browse listings.

For the tag filter form, just click on the - Exclude Tags - link and you'll see new fields for you to type in the tags that you don't want showing up in your search results.

You can also go into each tag and you'll see a button that says "Exclude this tag from results". When you exclude a tag from your results, stories with that tag will no longer show in any of the tag sections.

4/19/2014: You can now view all of the tags that you've excluded through your profile nav -> Other -> Excluded Tags.
