style: Mi Yeon’s style is casual and comfortable, She always goes out in skinny jeans and a t-shirt and rarely dresses up. Dressing up would take too long so she just throws on anything. She’s a terrible fashionista and can’t match up an outfit if her life depended on it. She doesn’t really think there’s any point to dressing up. She usually goes out bare faced. personality: Mi Yeon is a mature girl who is independent and outspoken. She's not afraid to say what's on her mind, even if that means she'll make some enemies. She is firm in her beliefs, decisive in her actions, and brutally honest, to the point of being blunt, with her words. Mi Yeon is naturally a quiet person and does not speak often, but when she does, she almost always has something worthwhile to say. She is usually uptight because she’s the oldest in the group, and she won’t allow herself to be weak because she knows she needs to be the voice of reason. She is fiercely loyal to the people she loves and would do just about anything to protect them. When people first meet her, she looks intimidating, but when they get to know her, they realize she's a sweet, innocent, playful girl who laughs easily.

Even though she is young, Mi Yeon is wise beyond her years. She is objective and a great listener. Friends always come to her for advice and encouragement because they know she'll be honest with them. In that way, Mi Yeon is understanding, and she is always there for anybody when they need her. ☼⋮ A DAY IN THE LIFE

background: Mi Yeon was born in China to a Chinese mother and Korean father. Her family immigrated to the US when she was two, and ran into many difficulties along the way. She grew up on the streets of LA, in a rundown neighborhood, with both her parents taking on multiple jobs just to get them by. Mi Yeon was often left at home with her two older brothers, Jin Hyuk and Min Hyuk, who were only four and three years older, respectively. She’s learned to take care of herself since she was four. Because they always only had each other, Mi Yeon and her brothers are extremely close. Her parents eventually made enough money to make their own business and move into a better neighborhood during middle school. She and her brothers eventually get into college, and she decides spontaneously to go study abroad in Korea in an attempt to understand her roots. When she decided to permanently reside in Korea, there was an uproar in the family as her parents and brothers could not bare the thought of their youngest daughter/sister being all alone in another country. It took all her power to convince them, and she’s been living in Korea for 4 years now.

She encountered a traumatic experience during her sophomore year in high school when her first boyfriend, whom she had been dating for six months, dumped her in front of the entire school, saying she was ugly and had no kissing skill. Mi Yeon was laughed at and talked about for the rest of her high school years. Thankfully, her best friend Carlie, who had never liked the guy, stuck by her and supported her even when she was picked on for being friends with Mi Yeon. Because of Carlie, Mi Yeon came to learn how to be such an understanding and caring person, choosing to carry herself with dignity and stand above all the immaturity. She knows the feeling of despair well and knows that people will always need someone to listen in difficult times.

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT MOVING TO LIVERPOOL?

"There’s so many emotions running through me right now, but I think I’m mostly feeling excited. I’ve always wanted to be able to travel and go places and see new things, so this is a really great adventure for me. I’m really excited for what’s to come, and I’m so glad I got to experience this with the girls."

WHAT WILL YOUR JOB / CHORE BE IN THE APARTMENT?

"Since I’m the oldest, I’ll be taking care of many things, like managing the household expenses and dividing up chores. In addition, I’ll be cooking dinner as well. I have to be the one who oversees everything because the girls look to me to lead them."

ANY GOALS YOU HAVE IN LIVERPOOL?

"I don’t’ have any specific goals. I like living life as it comes right now, so I’m not planning anything specific."

WHO ARE YOU CLOSEST TO IN THE APARTMENT?

"I am closest to Lucy because we’ve lived together for a while. I understand and tolerate her behavior at times because I know she’s a good kid. She will sometimes be too much and we’ll get in a tiff, but in the end, I let it go because she needs me. I can’t push out another person who’s lost their way. Since I was lucky enough to have my brothers to sort of guide me to be a good person, I want to be that someone for Lucy. I’m sure one day, Lucy will snap out of it and find her own way. I’m also very close to ‘I Me Mine’ because she and I can talk about things on a deeper level. She’s pretty thoughtful, and we both probably connect the most out of the bunch. Our personalities are also very similar which is why I think we click the most."

ANY ONE OF THEM THAT YOU'RE NOT CLOSE TO OR AWKWARD WITH?

"Hmm, I have a pretty good relationship with all the girls, so I wouldn’t say there’s anyone I’m awkward with. I am very worried about ‘Can’t Buy Me Love’ though. She’s always been the princess who gets handed everything, so I’m worried she will have a hard time adjusting to the new life. As a good friend, I want to help her learn the little things, like getting a job and whatnot, but I don’t know how she’ll adjust, and I think that’s what worries me most. What if she doesn’t adjust? We may be friends but we’re not going to pick up after her. I really hope there won’t be any big problems with her."

DO YOU THINK YOU'LL MOVE BACK HOME IN THE FUTURE?

"Since I just moved here, I have no intention of moving anywhere else in the immediate future. As for home, well, it depends on if I like living life here."

personality: Lu Han is someone who is considerate of others and very kind to everyone. He always welcomes people with a smile and is always open towards others. He’s helpful and attentive towards everyone and is a complete gentleman in his manners. He’s easy to talk to and has an aura about him that makes people comfortable. He’s extremely understanding and optimistic. Lu Han always chooses to look on the bright side of things is never deterred because of a struggle.

meeting: Mi Yeon had wanted to have some “me time” one day, so she set out to find a café where she could hang out for a while. She stumbled upon this little tea shop where Lu Han was working, and that’s how they met. He was taking orders for another table when his friend and coworker asked him to cover Mi Yeon’s table for him as well. Lu Han came over and took her order, and liked her instantly. There was a sophisticated air to her that he couldn’t quite pinpoint, but it peaked his interest since she looked new to the place. The shop often sees many returning customers and is very rarely greeted by a new face, and that made him more interested.

relationship: They didn’t talk much at first. She just came by twice a week for her “me time” and never really noticed his interest in her. After about a month of just looking and wondering from afar, on a particularly slow afternoon, Lu Han got the courage to talk to her. After that initial round “Hi, how are you?”, they started conversing more and slowly became friends and got to know each other that way. The more he got to know her, the more he liked her, but she is as oblivious, to his feelings as well as her own, as ever. She didn’t really trust him at first as her prior experience with guys has made her afraid and uncomfortable, but the more they talked, the more she could see that he wasn’t a bad person and the more she learned to trust him.

extra details: If the shop isn’t too busy when she comes, Lu Han will sit down and talk and enjoy a nice cup of tea with her. He invited her to go to a tea expo in London one day, and she had accepted. They spent the day sampling and learning about different teas and had a great time, which is when she began to like him more and more.
