STYLE: The style is casual and comfortable. Clara mostly wears skinny jeans and a t-shirt with a pair of sneakers. Her accessories include a necklace with a bear claw pendant, dangling earrings, a ring (middle finger, right hand), and a charm bracelet. She hates having to dress up so she just sticks with whatever is most comfortable. On really bad days, she’ll go out in sweats pants and a t-shirt and still be fine.

PERSONALITY: Like her name, Clara is someone who has a very clear sense of right and wrong, likes and dislikes, and she knows what her priorities are and what needs to be done. She has a quiet nature, and people usually mistake that as being shy. She is not. Clara is very independent and outspoken. She isn’t afraid to say what is on her mind and can sometimes be a bit blunt with her words. She doesn’t speak unless she has something worthwhile to say.
Towards her loved ones, she is fiercely loyal and extremely understanding/dependable. She will do anything to help her family. Clara is someone who will protect her loved ones with her life, and they can always count on her to be the one who will listen when no one else will, even if it’s the middle of the nigh, or if they need a shoulder to cry on. Many often come to her for advice because they can count on her to be objective and honest with them. They know she is a reasonable person who will listen before jumping to conclusions.
In most situations, she is calm and collected. She doesn’t panic easily and always keeps a level head, which can sometimes make her seem cold and distant. Although Clara is slow to trust someone new, once they have earned her trust, she trusts completely. When people first meet her, they are intimidated because she seems serious, but once they get to know her, she is a fun person to be around. With people she’s close to, she often laughs and jokes around and is easygoing, so long as they don’t do anything too off the handle.
Clara may be mature, but she can also be very innocent or gullible at times. She doesn’t understand subtle jokes and will believe it most of the time. BACKGROUND: Clara was born in Vietnam, as Diem Kieu, but moved to the US with her family when she was young. Initially, she lived in ia until she moved California when she was 9, after their loved ones betrayed her parents. This became the reason why she grew up to be slow to trust people. She had seen her parents being devastated and pushed to a corner because people were greedy, and she never wanted to relive the feeling of helplessness of not being able to comfort someone and always having to watch their pain, which made her understanding and the one people look to when they are faced with a problem.
After finishing high school, she went on to study at UCI as anthropology and classics major. Since her life was so normal and boring, she was itching for an adventure, so she signed up for a study abroad program. After finishing two years at the university, she decided to go study abroad in Greece, the focus of her classics major. Since she was an only child, her parents were initially reserved with the idea of letting her go to a new country by herself, but after hearing her reasons, they decided that it would be a good experience for her.

HISTORY: Clara met Joonmyeon for the first time when all the gods/goddesses were assembled on Olympus. He noticed her first and approached her, making friends. Their relationship grew as they became friends.
RELATIONSHIP: Joonmyeon noticed Clara first, and he tried being friendly with her. They became friends quickly and would help each other out at times. He would always try to make his feelings for her clear through his actions, but Clara was oblivious to his affections, having no prior experience in the realm of dating and relationships. He would sometimes for being herself and she would laugh with him. He helped her deal with the loneliness of not being able to be with her two best friends..

“I don’t need a map, my heart points me to you” The first time Clara saw Joonmyeon was when all the gods and goddesses gathered on Olympus. Out of everyone there, he caught her eye almost immediately. She began to feel attracted to him when they began talking. Clara quickly found out that he was a mature, funny, caring guy and was glad to have made friends with him. She hadn’t realized that she had already begun to like him. Joonmyeon, on the other hand, had noticed her right when she first came in, and immediately, he was interested in her, so when the opportunity to get to know her came, he went and struck up a conversation with her. He was glad that she seemed to like him as a person, at the least, and hoped that, one day, they could become something more.
“I raise the masts and I’m carried by the wind” After that first meeting, Clara and Joonmyeon slowly became closer friends, as he would always joke around with her, making her laugh and comforting her when she feels homesick. They would often seek out each others’ company, always talking and eating and getting to know each other. More often than not, it was Joonmyeon who would go to see what Clara was up to, if she was free, if she wanted to eat together, or if she simply wanted to take a stroll with him. Joonmyeon would always ask about her, trying to get to know her better while Clara would shy away and always seemed to change the subject with ease. They would always share their situations and feelings, talking about being chosen and the war, what it all meant, how things would turn out, etc.

Flower that bloomed in the dark, moon risen above the sea, the secret-like place, my beautiful black pearl” Through the process of becoming close friends and hanging out together, Clara starts to trust Joonmyeon more and more and becomes more comfortable with him. After having dinner together one day, Clara sees Joonmyeon chatting happily with another goddess and becomes irritated, not realizing it was jealousy. She goes back to her room in a huff, with him on her mind. After the jealousy passes, it finally hits her that she just might like him as more than a friend, and the realization shocks her. The days after the epiphany, she starts to avoid him more and more, hiding her infatuation with him, reigning in her anger when she sees him with another goddess, all the while trying to suppress her feelings for him.
When, at first, Clara was acting distant towards him, Joonmyeon was saddened and could not understand what had happened to have caused her to treat him differently. Still, he was not discouraged and tried as much as her could to get her to open up to him. He felt hurt by her indifference but refused to let her go, believing that there was a reason for it. Towards her, he was still the good friend he had become and the one she could talk to. Joonmyeon became annoyed then angered at Clara’s lack of response towards him, and he confronts her about avoiding him and such, and after a round of “it’s not you, it’s me,” Clara finally tells him what had happened. She admits to having fallen in love with him, but because she is a representation of the goddess Artemis, she cannot fall in love. Artemis was hailed as a goddess who had no interest in men and had chosen to stay unmarried, so she could not bring shame to Artemis by being with him. Clara believes that since Artemis chose her, she has a responsibility to uphold the name of the great goddess, which meant that she couldn’t be in love with him. With that, she walked away, without turning back while tears streamed down her face as her heart broke to pieces, leaving him dazed and heart broken.
“Even at the dizzying moment as the storm rages, don’t turn the boat around, don’t stop sailing” After the quarrel, they both preoccupied themselves with the war, training their powers and trying to move on. Joonmyeon had tried to talk to Clara and convince her that their love was worth fighting for. She had remained absolute in her decision, always choosing to watch over him from afar. When Joonmyeon almost lost his life in one of the battles, Clara was devastated to learn of the news. It took life and death for her to realize that she would always be suffering in a life without him and that their love was real and worth it. She finally decides that she’d rather lose everything than to separate from him again.

REASON FOR BEING CHOSEN: Artemis chose her because she saw how similar Clara was to herself. She’s been watching Clara for quite some time now, and she believes that Clara can handle the responsibility of a goddess well. Like her, Clara also loves archery (basically any shooting, really) and exploring and adventure.
CONNECTION: Artemis and Clara both love and are talented with archery. They love exploration and adventure and are firm in their beliefs. Artemis feels as if she is choosing a younger version of herself. Plus, Clara’s favorite goddess was always Artemis when she was studying for her major. The stories of Artemis inspired her, and she .always wanted to be free and strong, just as Artemis is.
HOW YOU WERE CHOSEN: Clara was in Greece for a study abroad program, and she decided that it would be great to see the various temples of the Greek gods and goddesses. She felt a draw to the Temple of Artemis and decided that would be her first destination. During her visit to The Temple of Artemis, in Ephesus, Turkey, she met the goddess, who had come to her in spirit. When she first got there, she heard a voice call her, and she followed that voice to a secret entryway into the temple’s underground, where Artemis revealed herself and told her she was chosen as the next goddess. Her initial reaction was disbelief and caution, and when that wore off, the shock came, and she was stupefied. A million questions flashed through her mind, but Artemis had vanished before she had any time to ask.
REQUEST(S): I hope you’ll put in a passionate kiss scene when they have the argument about Clara avoiding Joonmyeon or when she finds out she couldn’t live without him or maybe both. I just hope there’s a kiss scene in there somewhere. :)
SUGGESTIONS: Since the story is mainly going to be about the romance, I hope there’s a lot of angst mixed in with some humor. Too much angst would be too much to take.
