sociopaths do exist TW: MURDER

Answer to @LayDZhang and I simply wanted to get it off my mind. It was bothering me so much LOL

Hey guys,

Well, goodmorning.

I just reached my office and is drinking coffee while waiting for the boss so I'm going to write a quick blog. Last night, I fell asleep feeling very unsettled. I had actually read about a case called the Cassie Jo Stoddart case and it made me realize that sociopaths exist.

Long story short, Cassie was a popular girl who was house sitting for her aunt and uncle. She invited her boyfriend over and he did-- he, however, brought two classmates over. Brian and Torey.

- Brian and Torey were two friends, rather well liked but also were an outcast.
- They were obsessed with vlogging.
- came from rather normal family.

They were supposed to watch a movie, Brian and Torey then taking their leave and saying they were bored before they left.

- Electricity ran out, Matt got worried and wanted to stay with Cassie but his mother said no.
- The dogs began to bark at the basement.
- The rest is history. Brian and Torey came into the house through the basement, scared her with a door slam and stabbed her thirty times.

Thirty.

They would have killed Matt too, if he was in the house.

What came after that was sick. Since both of them were obsessed with vlogging, you could see in the videos how they planned it. Torey was driving, Brian vlogging the whole thing when Torey says "I'm just thinking about it. We've tried this so many times before but their parents are always home or their parents (would) come home. ".

Brian proceeds to say: "And this time, it will work. Our first victim is going to be in a house all alone. Holy , how perfect can that get?"

Torey then goes: "We're going to go down to history. Murder is freedom. Murder is power."

Another video came up, taking place the day before Cassie's death. Brian and Torey were sitting with a piece of paper, Brian saying: "We skipped fourth hour class to plan out our perfect murder."

Torey goes: But we're not going to get caught. We'll be like Scream, like Ted Bundy. But better.

Watching the videos made me realize that there are things such as sociopaths, people who look normal but are able to manipulate those around them. They simply like killing. But as I watched more of their videos it was obvious how different the two were.

Brian seemed to be milder, his stuttered every time talking about Cassie and made him seem remorseful. He seemed like someone who would be able to mass murder those around him but end up killing himself-- he seemed twisted in a way where he would want to shed blood but he wouldn't want to live through the circumstances of it so he would simply just kill himself.

Torey, on the other hand, looked like he had major sociopathic tendencies. He had no remorse at all and if you watch the videos, you'd see that he thought himself as precious. As different. Definitely narcissistic.

These two kids had friends, had a good family (From what I can tell), and seemed to have a relatively normal life. By good family, Torey's parents are still under denial that their son could do such a thing. It makes me wonder if there were any signs they could have missed or if Torey Adamcik knew how to hide it because he knew that he wasn't normal and it would be frowned upon.

Now pair up someone like Brian Draper, someone who always had a fascination with killing but no courage to do it alone, and Torey Adamcik who thinks that killing people will make him as famous as the Zodiac Killer and you have two sociopaths who had taken a life-- and more, if they were given a chance.

Torey Adamcik and Brian Draper are now in jail but it's obvious that if Torey Adamcik ever comes out, he will kill again. They both have life imprisonment without parole.

Sociopaths exist. I guess I never thought that it could be that easy to think "I want to kill someone" but I forgot that it can happen. They are wired differently and I have always asked "Why would they kill someone?" the answer is, nothing. They like it.

That's what makes them dangerous.

If any of you would want to watch the videos of them before the murder, you can check it out. It gave me shivers and you can see how easy it was for them to talk about doing it like they were going to buy groceries.

Both of them were sixteen then.

That being said, have a great day and keep safe.

honestly ive never heard of them but that's seriously messed up and scary. the fact that they actually went through with it and one having no regrets is horrible.

This is a very solid proof that you always need to be alert and trust no one easily.
It is so scary. It scares me to the point that I never want to move out of my parents house. This is seriously scary. I really hope people get safer places and none of these people can do stuff like this.
Tbh, I would say they need some psychiatric help... but I seriously at this point don't know what to say anymore. There must have been a reason why they turned out like this. Some childhood trauma, or something that triggered this side of theirs...

In all honesty I am always surprised when I heard about things like this but tbh I have read much more worst cases that it chills my bone and in the end the true monsters are the humans.

Well the word "normal" is one of the issues here.
A normal family? Normal friends? Normal life?
No such things exist truly in my opinion.
Every person encounter particular people, experience particular event, have unique way of thinking and perceiving their environment. Sure there are similar patterns but they are not natural, they were created by us.

Humans need to tag what surrounding them to feel safe, to know how to react according to the tag they identify in front of them.

The Torey's sentence about freedom and power shows us that he is in need of those and the origin(s) of those needs is crucial to understand him. So in my opinion he had experienced something who trigger those needs.

However, the psychology of a killer isn't induced automatically by his/her life experience.
Serial Killers were proven to have a different brain than non killer people. But is the brain developing like that according to a particular event or environment or because it was conceived like that from the start? We can't know for sure since serial killer are catched way after being babies XD.

I have always think that any human has the capacity ( psychological one) to kill someone else depending of the context. To defend ourself or somebody else in war or any dangerous situation mostly, but even for preventing if we judge somebody like a unavoidable threat for other in the future. The issue being our capacity of judging then XD.

But I might confess that sometimes I am really disconnected from my positive feelings and my reasoning become very "cold" toward some criminals when I am reading news for example. I'm not trusting our justice and penitentiary system in France so it is not helping to vent away those thought of taking revenge/make sure the criminal won't be a threat once again.

I think I really need a psychiatrist now. Reading this made me feel so many things that I shouldn't feel. Kinda triggering me a bit. I'm sorry.

Oh, this brings me chills. Stories like this always interest me not because I like seeing people suffer ( I hate any kind of that) but somehow I'm drawn to these types of topics. Who wouldn't be curious?

First of all, why would someone living a normal life think of these? These remind me of two best friends plotting for the perfect crime but they're still jailed in the end.

Oh God this trigger my interest yet at the same time making me having goosebumps all over. In your perspective, is it consider sickness or possible traits of a person? Anyway yeah i have a feeling i will check it out. I could use it for my writing materials or better to educate myself. After all, we all do live in a scary world.
Thank you for this exposure ^^
