appearance Minki has never been the biggest guy. But he's lithe and proportional. His size never stopped him from competing just as well as any of the bigger guys in the sports he used to participate in. Currently, he sports blonde hair, but isn't shy about dying it a whole different color on a whim even if school frowns on it and have tried to make him dye his hair back. He thinks it's because with dyed hair, they can tell the twins apart more easily. Some people like to note his "squishy" cheeks as well. He has some extensive scars on his right knee from surgeries trying to repair the ligament damage there. His ears are also pierced, and when he can he does appreciate some earrings.
fashion Jackets and hats define a lot of his clothing outside of school. He also likes bigger t-shirts over simple pants. He isn't a complex guy by any means when it comes to fashion. (see the icons above, here, here, here, and here for clothing references).

nicknames

△ Squirrel - he made a cute expression once and it reminded people of a squirrel. So now his friends and family will call him this affectionately. His brother can actually do the same thing, so they call him chipmunk.

△ GamerPedia - Minki earns this after working at the cafe once they realize he is really, REALLY good at memorizing all the various rules for different games. It's not unheard of if Hanyeon or Jikyung can't explain something to a new player for them to call their resident Gamer Pedia to take over.

△ Kiki - The affectionate name you'll hear Howon normally using, but Kiha or Soojin might also drop this. Minjin picks it up too after Minki has been working at the cafe.

△ Fluff - Sometimes, Minki is just very soft, happy, and the fluffiest thing you will encounter in your day. So you would think this is in reference to that. If it's someone other than Hanyeon using it, sure. But Hanyeon? Nope: it refers to his probably having stuffing in his head rather than a brain. (Don't worry: Minki thinks this might be true and it's funny)

Gong Minki

personality

[Pos] Effervescent, Amiable, Imaginative, Genuine
[Neu] Eccentric, Chatty
[Neg] Aimless, Foolish, Transparent, Hesitant

And it's all sunshine and sparkles!! Don't give me that face. Real men love sparkles. Gong Minki is, if anything, positive energy that energizes most people around him. If there's a bleak, dark day, you can count on Minki to come bounding in with nothing but sunshine and sparkles to chase the darkness away. Minki is kind and eager to be of help to others. His manner is open and obliging, making him easy to approach, and he is equally easy to approach others. Even if someone is outright rude or mean to him, it's very unusual to see Minki be put off by it. He just continues to be himself and not let them affect him. Either he will get through to them, or he doesn't and can say he tried. If you're struggling to do something, Minki is usually one of the first to either ask, or just up and help you through it. His goal is to not add to your problems already existing either by helping you with it directly, or hoping his attitude and energy is infectious enough to lift your spirts. And is those fail? He's pretty sure his oddball habits and other eccentricites will at least amuse you. Minki is self aware enough of that to know that he can come off as a little weird to others at times. But Minki genuinely means well and wants to help.

Okay, it sounds ridiculous. But just imagine if- watch out when Minki really gets into one of his stories or explanations. His imagination knows no bounds. He can make his walk to school sound like an amazing epic to the final boss of a fantasy epic if you let him. Verbose and animated in his approach, Minki is never at a lack for words. He likes to take time to daydream and imagine the things that could be, fanastical or not, and relive them in vivd color in his mind. He's been accused of being a bit of an airhead because of this since it's very easy for him to zone out while doing this. But his vivid imagination means he is completely an out of the box thinker. Random and weird issues don't bother him. Just because one approach doesn't work doesn't mean they can't try something totally unexpected to resolve it. He is surprisingly good as a idea board for others because of this. And he is more than happy to chatter your ear off if you want to hear him explicate the intricacies of his-no, please stop him. You have to stop him otherwise he will go on and get more and more elaborate. He is also the type who can talk about nothing for an indeterminate amount of time. "You see that spot on the wall there? Ever wonder what caused it?" "Um, I'm pretty sure it's ketchup-" "But are you SURE?" Yes. This boy is just a little too weird at times. He can't help it. The most random things will come out of his mouth, so user beware.

I SWEAR I'm not this dumb-okay I really am. Minki is loud. Really loud. Loud in his reactions, loud in his expressions, and is an open book when it comes to reading him. It is too, too easy to trick Minki because it's too easy to read into what's going on in his head at any given moment. While it makes him easy to play, it also means it's easy to tell when he says something he means it. And his silliness comes off as foolish at times. He's never claimed to be the brightest crayon in the box, nor does he have any illusions on his denseness at times. Sometimes, Minki just needs a moment longer to read a situation and this can make him come off as a bit slow when it comes to intelligence. He's not dumb: just dense. And his suffers from something like wanderlust when not focused on something too intently. Going off on tangents is terribly common for him (SQUIRREL!!) and his attention span can be a little short if he gets bored or tired. And because he's so transparent, he's a terrible liar. "Minki...who did this? *he looks at Hanyeon* Oh, so Hanyeon?" "DAMNIT MINKI!"

...but what do I do now? But Minki is also a little scared and uncertain about where he is going now. He is fantastic at letting little things roll off him since they are temporary. But you know what's not? His inability to play sports. As much as he pretends he is the same person, he really isn't. He's a little more scared of taking risks, of putting himself out there where people can see him at his most vulnerable. While sometimes his airheadedness can seem a little endearing and foolish, there is a genuineness to his aimlessness. He feels lost at times. He doesn't want people to know he feels like this because it means they'll treat him differently, but he also just really wants someone to tell him it will be alright and to point him in the right direction. Minki just doesn't know how to ask without also making him vulnerable. It's a tough conundrum for him. So instead, he hesitates when he has to make important decisions. He hesitates when asked about his genuine feelings. And that hesitation sometimes makes people misunderstand him and his simplicity. It's not that he can't make complex decisions (watch the boy play chess): he's just scared of what the outcome of that decision will be...because in an instant he could lose everything again.

background

Technically the youngest of three sons (but only by 3 minutes!), Minki led a fairly uneventful but happy life. His parents own a grocery store chain that started in Incheon. They were a happy, if  bit crazy, sort of family. And while teir neighbors found them a little lively and excitable, they were good well meaning people and never caused any real harm, and were always happy to help anyone if they needed something. Life was simple and easy.

Minki and his brother Sungki were always very active children. Active in sports, in school and outside of school, always exploring and finding new places to get into mischief, but they were good boys and rarely did anything out of spite or meanness. Their parents aways encouraged them to be courageous and not to back down just because things got a little bleak. Keep your head up and facing the sun is what they would always tell them when they got depressed or sad. Minki, despite being just as good as his brother in all things physical, always seemed a little bit more of a dreamer, and he was always known as being something of a story teller. Little Minki could spend a full hour telling you about the misadventures of his legos and how they saved the princess. But not a lot of people paid attention to that when the twins were winning baseball games.

Eventually, they moved to Seoul to open another grocery store as their business bloomed. Seoul was great! New friends (Soojin and Howon), new places, new everything! The boys were running track and soccer, and early on in their high school lives they were getting attention for their athletic prowess. Everyone expected them to one day go professional in some sport. And it was fun for them. Much of their lives revolved around practice and games. Things were going so well.

And then they weren't.

Tensions had been brewing in their friend group for a long time since adolescense and the realiztion of romantic love between them. It was not that weird that all three of the boys fell for Soojin really. Soojin however, eventually chose Sungki once they started highschool, but hid it for a few months before finally telling them. This put a strain on their friendships immensely. Minki got over the rejection of Soojin in favor of his brother rather quickly, happy for the both of them; but Howon did not. Things became tense and uncomfortable.

So one day, Minki convinced all of them to go on a hiking trip into the mountains, like old times. They go fishing and camp and just have some fun. He wanted his friends and brother back like they used to be. They go and things aren't going well at all. Aside from him and Soojin, no one is really talking. Sungki is getting more and more agitated by Howon giving him the cold shoulder. Howon is still upset that Soojin didn't pick him and that they thought they had to hide it.

Finally, while out hiking on one of the mountain trails and it had just started raining: everything came to a head and they fought. They started with Sungki finally shouting at Howon that he was being a ty friend, and then Howon just snapping and telling him he was the one who decided to go behind his back with Soojin. More and more nasty, mean words were exchanged, and despite Soojin and Minki trying to calm them down, neither was backing off. Soon they were physically pushing and fighting. But the trail they were on was so close to the mountain edge and the rain was making things slick. So Minki finally jumped in and first tried to get his brother to stop.

"Sungki! It's dangerous! Stop!"
"Stay out of this!"

Then he tried to pull Howon away.

"Of course you'd take his side! Get off me!" Howon shoved him away hard-

-hard enough that Minki was shoved too close to the edge, and the ground, wet and loose, gave out from beneath him.

"MINKI!" was the last thing he remembered hearing from Soojin before he slipped and fell down the mountain side. He woke up to his friends and brother shouting, but he couldn't really move. His whole body hurt like hell, and his vision was blurry, and it just hurt. He finally lost consciouness again just as Howon found him.

He awoke again in the hospital. All things considered he was very lucky. Despite a concussion, a broken arm, a banged up knee, and some bad bruising, he was okay. No broken back or neck. And his brother and Howon seemed to have made up while he was out of it. Everyhing was okay. Until almost 6 months later and his knee was not feeling right.

Despite everything they did right, his knee's torn ligaments just weren't healing correctly, even after surgeries. He could walk fine, even jog a little and swim, but anything more than that put his leg into pain. Minki wasn't going to be able to play sports competively again, or at least in the near future. No more track, no more soccer, no more aspirations of pro sports or even university teams...

These days, Minki still seems like the person he used to be: happy, maybe a little crazy sometimes, but still amiable and friendly. His brother is now the top player on the teams, he and Soojin are still dating, and Howon is still their cloest friend. But now Minki doesn't know what to do with himself. Injuries are healed, he can still study and function, but now what does he do? He doesn't tell anyone going to his brother's games with Soojin and Howon hurts. He doesn't tell them that all the mothering and fussing over him while at home, at school, or even when he's helping at the store hurts. He's tired of everyone just feeling sorry for him. Yes, he's sad and feels a little lost after the accident, but he's not some fragile thing that will break if not coddled. So he starts doing things his friends aren't as involved in, inadvertently distancing himself from the people closest to him. He stops going to games, going to his former clubs, spends a lot of alone time reading or studying away from the others...

And that's how he finds himself at MP! Gaming Cafe. One day, after feeling particularly tired of the pity party he was surrounded by, he entered the cafe and randomly watched as some other kids played a board game. They noticed and invited him to join. No one here cared that he was that poor kid who can't play sports anymore Plus he might have renewed his love of games: board, table top, card games, heck even some of the video games even though he's terrible at them. So when he heard MP was looking to hire some people, Minki jumped at the chance. Time away from all the smothering and pity, AND he gets to be around the games? He never applied to anything quicker.

Minki's Normal Schedule

During the Week School Schedule:

Mon-Fri - School during the day. He can work any time after classes, but if he isn't he'll go to a bookstore or library fo a bit if he needs a new book. If he's not working, Howon, Soojin, or Sungki might drag him out to go hang out. He doesn't go with them willingly to practices, but he will go wait with Howon if he's doing Art Club activities. (Prior to them knowing he works at MP, they are very confused when he'll just vanish after school on them).
Tue - Chess Club after school for 1 hour. He doesn't normally pick up shifts on Tuesdays, but he can if they don't mind him coming later.

During the Week Non-School time/Summer or Breaks:

Tue and Thur - Volunteers in the morning hours at a kids library, usually with organizing the stacks but sometimes he reads to the kids, or helps them read as well.

He USED to have club activities, like Sungki, even during breaks. But since he has had to drop out of a lot of the sports clubs, he has a lot of free time during breaks. If he's not working, being dragged out shopping with Soojin, helping Howon set up for Art club or at his house to play games, or with going to a game for Sungki, or with Kiha at his apartment, he can be found hanging out at the cafe playing games or going to his normal haunts like the library or bookstore.

Weekends:

Sat-Sun - If he's not scheduled to work or be with his family, he goes swimming in the mornings for an hour or two. He doesn't normally invite anyone to come with him to these since he uses this alone time to actually reflect a bit on things?

Saturday evenings, every other week, he will usually host a game of some sort at the Cafe.

*At any time, he might have to go to a game for Sungki or Soojin. He will usually try to get out of it since it just makes him feel bad, but sometimes he can't and he might have to switch shofts with someone.

trivia

Likes:
- Books - Physical books. He's fine with ebooks, but something about having the actual book in hand is nice. He will always have some book he's reading in his bag for when he gets bored.
- Karaoke - He can't sing that well, but can hold a decent tune. Plus, karaoke is about fun, not skill!
- Spicy Food - it really seems like he can eat almost anything spicy. Bring it on!
- Black coffee - He is actually not a fan of sweets.
- Fantasy epics. They are his currently favorite things to read and watch.
- The Ocean. His ideal day woul be to spend a day at the beach with his friends.
- Fruits are his favorite snack, persimmons and apples being his favorite.

Dislikes:
- Heights - ever since his fall, Minki doesn't do well with heights. He gets flashes of when he fell, and claims it makes his knee hurt just thinking about it.
- Pity - Empathy and sympathy are fine. But lately, Minki can't stand people pitying him or others. Pity does nothing but make people feel useless or worthless, or make those pitying them feel superior. It shouldn't be that way.
- Sweets - He's never had a sweet tooth, and would prefer fruits to candy.
- Watching sports. He used to l o v e spending time with his brother and watching soccer and other sports. Not so much anymore.
- Conflict. He's a peacekeeper and will agree to disagree before fighting too much about something.

Hobbies:
- Reading - mostly fiction. He's currently getting through some Tolkien after just finishing Harry Potter and some other classics. Fantasy epics are just amazing really to him.
- Swimming - while he doesn't do it competetively, swimming is a low impact exercise he can do regularly. It's also something his brother and friends don't do, so he goes there to swim and be alone sometimes.
- Table top gaming - something he's become far more into since joining the cafe. Hes slowly gaining a small collection at home, and has even gotten his brothers and parents to play with him in the evenings when he's home.

Habits:
- Very loud and animated when he explains things, especially if he gets excited.
- Makes random noises while doing things. He will also just scream dramatically when something scares him or if he gets excited.
- Really, he gets excited and random things happen.
- Normally his smiles are big and open. But when he's upset or sad, they tend to be closed and tight, even if his tone is normal.
- The only time he's truly quiet is when he's reading over rules for a game.
- Or he gets really quiet the more tired he gets.
- says "Hey baby" in English teasingly to people he likes, male or female, when greeting them.

Etc:
- Attends Apgujeong High School along with his brother and friends.
- Despite being very good at boardgames, card games, and other tabletops and understanding their complexity, he is absolutely awful at most video games. He still has a lot of fun with them, but it's embarassing how fast he dies in Smash Bros or Zelda. The exception is Mario Kart. He is shockingly good at Mario Kart and his default character is Waluigi or King Boo.
- He's a secret ace with chess though. No one ever expects him to beat them at chess because...well because Minki.
- He's always liked boardgames and card games, but got really into them when he was in the hospital recovering. Howon and Sungki spents hours sitting with him, and when they weren't there he usually got a nurse or even a doctor or two to play with him.
- While at the cafe, he starts a bi-weekly Dungeons and Dragon's campaign with some of the regulars after watching Stranger Things. He's a really engaging DM however, using his love of storyltelling to his advantage, and it's something they're considering recording and posting to YouTube.
- After he starts working at the cafe, his parents often send him with an armload of snacks from one of their stores to share with his coworkers. They have to make sure their son's new friends stay well fed! While having a part time job might put strain on his schoolwork, they're just happy if Minki is happy.
- Right now, Minki doesn't know what his future will be. H'es put so much on being a sports star that he never really had a plan B. His knee being injured is probably one of the better things to happen to him since now he is exploring other avenues. Like he never realized how much he liked literature, or the idea of working with people directly.
- Can speak a far amount of English! Constant language classes are useful for something.
- LOVES scary games and horror. He can't really play them, but really likes watching others play and laughing at their reactions.

Minki says:
"*pterodactyl screams*"

"Okay but if we place the laptop on the table, and play a game on it: does it then become a table top game?"

"Hey, hey! What kind of music is a balloon scared of? POP Music!"

"But just imagine: you walk in. To your right: a beautiful woman attending to the concessions. To your left: a glowing treasure trove of digital fantasy at your disposal. Ahead, the rest of the horde awaits scattered askew amongst the table tops, plucky and loveable attendants all around. And THEN you hear very smoothly and melodically: Welcome to MP-" "Seriously Minki, what are you on?"

"Why does everyone look so surprised when I beat Jikyung or someone at chess??"

"Okay, but what if-" "No." "But what if-" "No!" "But what if-" "Fine...what if-?" "...I forget." "Gong Minki...!"

"What do you call a sad espresso?" "Dear god no-" "Depresso!" "Get out."

"*more pterodactly screams*"

it's dangerous to go alone! take this.

relationships

Twin Brother | Gong Sungki, 17, December 2, 2000 - FC: Han (Stray Kids)
Traits: Energetic, Personable, Optimistic, Athletic, Fearless
"Hey! H E E E Y! Smile for me!"

The Gong Twins used to be a notorious duo in their primary to early high school years. Identical and equally friendly and energetic, sometimes it was just too difficult to tell them apart unless you knew the nuances of them well enough.  Get to know them both, and you realize Sungki tends to be more grounded and less with his head in the clouds. He's the one who usually stopped them just before getting into trouble, and Minki was the more lighthearted one (even if those nuances are very subtle at times). Fortunately, Minki likes to play with his hair color frequently while Sungki usually keeps his more natural color. They were once attached at the hip, and you never got one without the other.

However, ever since the accident that benched his brother, Sungki is noticeably less energetic and seems far more introspective. He blames himself for Minki falling and feels its now his lifelong duty to make sure his brother is happy. It's actually a little smothering to Minki, but he doesn't have the heart to tell Sungki to stop. He keeps trying to bring Minki in on things, but lately Minki just wants his space away from him and the ohers. Sungki assumes it's because Minki must still blame him for the accident, so he just keeps trying. As Minki works more at the cafe and pulls farther away to hang out with new friends, Sungki grows concerned and tries to figure out some way what is going on through his brother's head.

Sungki is a member of the track and soccer clubs, known schoolwide for his agility and prowess. He also works part time at their parents' conveneince store.

Big Brother | Gong Kiha, 23, April 27, 1995 - FC: Young K (Day6)
Traits: Protective, Nurturing, Outgoing, Creative, Stubborn
"You really shouldn't lie to me. I can tell every time you try."

Currently in the IT department of CT Communications, he lives in Seoul in his own apartment. A bit of a tech genius, Kiha has been fixing everyone's computers around him since he can remember picking up a keyboard and flinging it across the room. After the accident, he makes it a point to be around the home more often but doesn't tend to invade or smother Minki as much as the rest of the family. Sungki and Howon both got a very firm, and menacing, talking to after the accident for what happened from him. He is probably the person at home Minki actually can confide in when he does feel down. Kiha has always had a knack for knowing what his brothers need to hear and for reading them like a book. He's offered for Minki, if he wants, to come live with him; but it hasn't come to that point yet for Minki. He also tries to get Minki to be honest about what is bothering him, but is often cheerily shot down by Minki who just tells him he's fine and everything is okay. The lies his brother tells, he swears...

Kiha is a bit of handyman, and is really good at fixing things from stuck doors to TVs. After working at the cafe, if something breaks and they need a quick fix, it's not uncommon for Minki to give Kiha a call and he'll help them, particularly with the PCs.

Childhood/Close Friend | Kim Soojin, 17, October 9, 2000 - FC: Chaeyoung (Twice)
Traits: Pragmatic, Sarcastic, Intelligent, Decisive, Considerate
"All of you are lucky I haven't dumped all your sorry asses by now."

The childhood friend of the twins since they came to Seoul when they were eight. As kids, she actually used to beat up others kids for picking on "her boys" and was actually feared by the other boys for her tenacity. As a more mature teenager, her fists have been replaced by words and she has one of the sharpest, most smartass mouths around. She does tend to be softer around her friends, particularly to Sungki who she is more endeared to since they've been dating since 16 years old. For a while, things were hard for her around them when she realized all three of her best friends had developed romantic feelings towards her. But he has always been fond of Sungki out of them, and in the end she chose him when he finally confessed. Minki might still have a little crush on her.

After the accident, she tried to treat Minki no differently. Out of his friends, she is the one who doesn't treat him as if he were some fragile thing. However, she can't help but be overly concerned about him when he does show some discomfort. She can't help it: the conflict that caused the accident was indirectly her fault. But she is becoming more and more concerned the more Minki seems to isolate himself from them, and is determined to figure out what is actually going on.

Soojin is part of the volleyball club, an is friends with Dayeon too. She tries to get Dayeon to tell her what is going on with Minki as well, but has little luck there since she also doesn't want to make it known what actually happened to them.

Best Friend | Park Howon, 17, September 29, 2000 - FC: Seungmin (Stray Kids)
Traits: Introspective, Even Tempered, Intelligent, Fun Loving
"I still can't believe I did that."

Growing up in the apartment right next to them, Howon has known the Gong family since they moved to Seoul. He made fast friends with the more outgoing twins and soon they were pretty much inseperable. Sometimes people accused the twins of dragging the nice boy next door into their trouble, which is totally untrue. Howon was always their quiet co-conspirator. He was always closer to Minki however and consider the other their best friend.

Minki says he doesn't blame Howon or Sungki for the accident because that's what it was: an accident, and Minki still considers Howon his best friend. They used to still hang out all the time, usually away from Soojin and Sungki, but then the guilt kept eating at Howon and he kept being overly concerned towards Minki. Honestly, if you ask Minki, instead of feeling like they were friends, it felt more like he had an indebted servant and he hates that. Minki wants his friend back, but Howon is finding it hard to let go of the past and his mistake: he HAS to make sure Minki doesn't suffer anymore for what he did: It's too much for Minki, and he's withdrawn more from him as of late. Along with Soojin, Howon is trying to figure out why Minki is more withdrawn because he also misses his friend. As he grows closer and spends more time with others, he gets jealous and more upset because Minki won't tell him what is wrong.

He's part of the art club and is a fantastic illustrator.

Co-Worker | Hong Jun, 19, August 24, 1998 - FC: Hongjoong (ateez)
Traits: See The App!
"Minki we're supposed to be working-okay, which game?"

Minki meets Jun once they both start working at MP! Gaming Cafe. At first both of them are complete opposites but no one stands between Minki and making a new friend! Even humble boys who think they hve it all under control! Jun is a good influence on Minki really. Despite how unpredictable Minki can be at times Jun seems able to read him before he is even aware. Sometimes Jun reminds Minki of his brother Kiha without the familial baggage so it's a little natural thank Minki kind of attaches to Jun. Jun takes good care of Minki, and not only by ensuring Minki has food. He's someone Minki learns to trust because Jun doesn't make a big fuss over anything and he's endlessly patient when Minki might tire others out.

Minki is also good at seeing when Jun gets uncomfortable. When things get a little too chaotic for Jun or he begins to fall into a spiral of self deprecation Minki is there to defelct or change a situation for the better. "There's no need to be worried about the little things! Let's go play this game instead!" And then he takes Jun out of the situation. In the end, they're both helpful, good natured people and that' why they get along in the end. Really.

Schoolmate/Co-Worker | Yang Yohan, 17, FC: Felix (Stray Kids)
Traits: See the App!
"So is your campaign going to follow the hero's journey?"

These two have been familiar with each other for a while since they attend the same high school. At first, Minki is really friends with Yohan's cousin Dayeon first. She is part of the volleyball club, so she ran with the "atheltics" group including the twins and Soojin. After the accident, Minki begins inviting him and Dayeon out to the csfe for a game night. It's at Minki's urging, after knowing Yohan wants some work, to apply with him to MP!

For Minki, Yohan is a good friend who not only accepts him and his loud eccentricities, but doesn't make him feel like something less than. Yohan acts as a voice of reason to Minki at times, but normally he is rolling with things. "Are you actually doing that-yes you are. Okay, here we go." After working together at the cafe, Minki learns to really admire and apprecaite Yohan's intelligence and easy going nature to the point that they become very good friends. Yohan kind of fills a space that Howon left. They easily talk about literature, books, Ted Talks, and games at length endlessly.

personality

[ pos. ] protective, open-minded, responsible, perceptive
assertive [ neu. ] neat
indolent, aloof, passive aggressive, moody  [ neg. ]

love story Hanyeon recognized Minki from the couple of times he's been at the cafe, joining in on games or watching others play. Neither ever really paid too much mind to the other, nor did they interact. The only times they did is when Minki would be paying for something, and Hanyeon would be helping out. Hanyeon just remembers him being very nice, and Minki remembers her being helpful.

Hanyeon did not know what she was getting into when they announced they'd hired him. Both being some of the youngest people there, Minki immediately went up to her and said hello! He was not put off by her expression or lack of initial response, and took her silence as acceptance before bounding off to clean a few tables at Jikyung's request. Everytime he sees her, he's more than happy to say hello and try to include her in anything he is currently playing or working on. It doesn't usually end with him actually getting a "yes" from her, but he tries without getting tired of it.

Why isn't Minki put off when he attempts to befriend Hanyeon and things just seem slow going? "Well," he scratches his head in thought, "not everyone is always ready to open up immediately. So it's okay! i can be open enough for the both of us! Besides, Hanyeon is pretty cool. I like her." Just like that. Minki is not one to normally hide his thoughts and feelings on a matter. Hanyeon actually overhears this because it was a conversation with Minjin in the back getting supplies that started the topic when he asked Minki how he was getting along. Maybe it's this conversation, or his neverending optimism, or his finally chipping away at her resolve, or maybe it's the fact that he always offers her first pick of the snacks he brings from his parents' convenience stores; but soon the pair are seen working side by side more often than not. Minki is happy to be the one making the conversation with Hanyeon calling him out when he's being a little slow or stupid or ridiculous. There doesn't seem to be any malice associated with it however; and the pair are actually growing fairly comfortable with each other and their quirks. Hanyeon is not put off by her, and she is not put off by him.

To Hanyeon, Minki is like organized chaos. Sure, he is random and a little hard to keep up woth when he gets going (entertaining chaos), but then he turns around and is not only helpful but knowledgeable about the games and helping out around the cafe upon request (the organized). To Minki, she is chaotic organization. While she is neat and perceptive, sharp and assertive (organization), she has these tsudere moments that just, honestly, endear Minki. Not that he would ever call her tsundere to here face....yet. Minki likes her, a lot. She is good at keying in on his little nuances without being crazy about it, and she is caring enough of others even if she denies it or pretends not to. She just sorta knows what to do to make Minki feel better. And he is happy to help her without even being told and not making a show of it.

(I want to leave this a little open so you can play with it as she is your character...)

Ending? Maybe he confesses first that he likes her, and she denies it. He's okay with that. He just thought she should know that someone out here does like her romantically. It's okay. He's used to rejection. He doesn't change how he acts around her or others, and maybe it makes her anxious because maybe that's just how he is. Does he really like her like that? Or is he this nice to everyone? Minki is nice to everyone right? And more importantly: does she like him. Hanyeon will deny it, but Jikyung and even Minjin can tell she likes Minki too. Will the little tsundere make the next move? Will Minki just fade into the background and accept being in the friendzone? STAY TUNED!

"hello, Minki! i'm jikyung, one of the managers at mp! gaming cafe. tell me a little about yourself!"

:"Hiya! I'm Gong Minki, but you know that since you're the one interviewing me and everything. Hey, but you might not know all that since it was Minjin who actually called me up to come in. Speaking of which, is Minjin like a mini-celecrity or something? That last interviewee you had was talking my ear off about some YouTube channel or something. Doongdoong? Doonar? Ahhh, I can't remember. But that's not important right? I'm here to tell you about me. Oh, by the way, you haven't gotten the latest ruleset for Dungeon Hunter-" Jikyung clears , looking at him pointedly. Minki is silent, blinking several times, until it final sets in, "Oh! Right! Me!" Jikyung tries to hide the smile when he perks up instantly and porceeds to keep right on talking, "I'm in highschool and I'm actually a regular here! This place is pretty awesome you know?"

"what made you apply for a job here? any experience?"

"Aside from this place being awesome?" Minki is all laughter, "And...I like it here. Everyone here is just," he trails off for the slightest second. A perceptive person might notice how his expression changes ever so slightly, but it's too quick for most to notice, "you have a lot of games I really love here!  I spend a lot of my freetime just freeloading here. So when I found out you were hiring? Heck yeah! Might as well earn my keep right? I have worked a little in my parents' convenience stores in the past if that helps?"

"know how to play any of the games here? we do tend to teach and facilitate some games!"

Minki brightly lists off the number of games he's played in the cafe before, also giving a couple of the basic rules for each. He says them so fast, but completely, it's hard for Jikyung to see him breathe. After a moment, Minki realize he's lost her and laughs sheepishly, "Sorry! Sorry. Yes I do."

"any events you want to suggest for the cafe? WE'RE OPEN TO IDEAS!"

"A new learner event could be fun! The point is to invite those who are new or have never played some of the harder games. A lot of tabletops can get really complicated, so having a day dedicated to teaching those could bring in more customers." His answer is...very normal and direct. Jikyung stares at him a moment, and Minki tilts his head in confusion, "Um...is that not a good idea?"

you have reached the end!

last words I didn't really include his parents in here, but if you need information on them I can add it! He got out of control! He wasn't supposed to be this long but here he is. And if you don't like using him as a possible LI for Hanyeon, he's okay as a single pringle too!

I can also see Minki maybe studying to be a teacher or writer or something similar? Maybe he figures out that's what he wants to do with his life after some reflection or maybe having his new co workers and friends tell or hint at him?

scene request

- Minki finally explains to his friends and brother clearly why he can't stand being around them like he used to: they make him feel useless or invalid, when he isn't. He's trying so hard to move on and figure out his life, but can't when everyone around him seem so intent on keeping him in the past. This leads to reconciliation when they make him understand they can't pretend it never happened, and that they are hurting from it too and trying to make it better; they're not trying to make him feel smothered or useless. Then have all the tears and hugs and mushy stuff. ;~;

- His friends crashing MP! and meeting his co-workers before reconcilliation. This leads to some jealousy from some people, and maybe some playful teasing from Soojin when she meets Hanyeon. It might even be a moment where they see Minki truly uncomfortable.

- Older siblings on the attacc! Tease those little siblings mercilessly!

- A visit to the Gong family's store, and the fellow employees realize how big their chain is.

- Soojin meeting Hanyeon and actually getting a little jealous over some other girl having one of "her boys'" attention. It's not romanctic jealousy: just possesive friend.

- Do the scary game night. PLEASE.

- They go somewhere, maybe an amusement park, and Minki literally panics when they try to get him to go up on the bigger rides because he's terrified of heights.

- A moment where his new friends and co-workers actually see Minki break down ,either upset or angry

- I'll add more later!!

password Minki blinks, takes a second to process, then just: *PTERODACTYL SCREAMS AND HUG THE NEAREST PERSON* "Seriously!? This is aweomse!"
