appearance
- yohan has naturally brown hair and brown eyes. he likes to style his bangs upwards with gel or water like this.
- later on in the story, however, he loses a game with one of the other employees and because they had both originally agreed to a 'loser does what winner says bet', yohan was dared to dye his hair blonde (which he does) and keeps this look for most of the story.
- people like to comment about how long and pretty his eyelashes are.
- both of his ears are pierced, and he likes wearing long, dangly earrings.
- most of the time, yohan naturally has a very mellow, friendly, and approachable aura. he's usually seen with a gentle smile as his default expression, which is said to give him a refreshing 'boy next door' vibe.

fashion yohan has a relatively simple, low-maintenance sense of style that takes maybe 10 minutes (at most) to put together. most of the time, he opts for mono-colored t-shirts and dark jeans, but for his shifts, he sometimes adds a little bit more effort by wearing flannels, button-downs, sweaters, and jackets (usually a bomber jacket or a jean jacket).

nicknames

einstein  -  as someone with a huge interest in robotics and a plan to major in engineering, it's not hard to see why his friends and even some of his classmates gave him this nickname, though most of the time it's primarily used jokingly just to (even if there is a hint of truth to calling him a genius).

flower boy  -  yohan's been told that he's very pretty in terms of appearance, so it's easy to see how this nickname was coined. it's not necessarily used by his friends or classmates, but more of by the cafe  staff because of the few too many encounters he's had with some flirty customers (especially with high school students and slightly older girls)

yang yohan

personality

[   +  ]  considerate, enthusiastic, genuine, innovative, patient
[   /   ]   easygoing, disciplined, passionate, perfectionistic
[   -   ]  evasive, hesitant, indecisive, overthinker, passive

[   +  ]  considerate, enthusiastic, genuine, innovative, patient

In a nutshell, Yohan's image as the local boy next door stems from his friendly, helpful, and gentle nature, both during and after work hours. While he's not necessarily the life of a party, Yohan is often considered as someone who's the epitome of a good friend due to his optimistic support for others, his open-minded outlook on life, and his easygoing and little-stress approach whether it comes to workplace tasks and weekend outings with coworkers and other friends. He's not enthusiastic to the point that he's bouncing off the walls with energy, but he tends to look forward to events and encourage ideas, even if they do need a few tweaks for improvement.

Yohan also isn't the type of person who demands constant attention with the spotlight always on him. Instead, he tends to thrive when he's able to help people with whatever they need, be it big tasks or small favors, on the side or even completely behind the scenes, because he's a genuinely virtuous guy with a good heart who's confident in his self-competence. This primarily comes from his intellectual curiosity and academic success that was facilitated beginning from his childhood and remains until now, giving him the reputation of someone who's knowledgeable, hardworking, and reliable no matter what's thrown at him. Rather than being intimidated or discouraged by challenges, Yohan's curiosity pushes him to analyze the problem, consider the potential approaches, and ultimately come up with the best solution(s) to tackle the issue at hand. By now, this type of methodical approach comes to Yohan on instinct and in a manner that makes sense to him, and even if it may seem confusing to others at first, he's very thoughtful in explaning ideas and concepts in a much more colloquial way that people can understand but without patronizing them.

If there's anything that he's proud of the most though, it's that he doesn't necessarily exemplify the stereotype of a 'nerd' or 'genius' (as everyone seems to want to call him), which is no doubt true for some people he's been acquainted with and it's rubbed him the wrong way how certain people look down on others for not being as 'accomplished' as them. While it's not wrong to say that Yohan's mind works in an intellectually creative way that's very different from most, instead of belittling them, he fully and happily acknowledges that everyone is different. His curiosity doesn't only encompass science and robotics and technology; it extends outwards into international cultures, world history, pop culture and games, language and literature, and even personal lifestyles and anecdotes because who knows? - these differences and varying perspectives are new experiences, and new experiences can lead to new outlooks that facilitate thinking and give rise to new ideas.

[   /   ]   easygoing, disciplined, passionate, perfectionistic

In social settings, Yohan is considered to be a very easygoing, go-with-the-flow character, and this is useful in the sense that he's not picky with plans and is up for almost anything (as long as it isn't not dangerous and is at a reasonable hour of the day). It can also, however, be frustrating for people who dislike indecisiveness, as Yohan often replies with vague comments like "you guys can decide, I'm good with anything" and "[X] sounds fun but also [Y] seems cool too" when asked to make a social setting-oriented decision, be it day trips or dinner arrangements or even bigger plans like family vacation destinations.

As for academic and work settings, Yohan is known for being very reliable regardless of how little or big the task is, and this primarily results from his perfectionistic tendencies in being very attentive to detail and productive in the timespan he's given. Whether it pertains to cleaning tables or organizing the cafe or completing homework and projects during the school year, Yohan begins working on it early rather than procrastinate, and he prefers to finish it all the way with proper effort instead of half-heartedly finishing the task and risking the window for mistakes and errors, even if it is 'boring'.

While this has given him a great reputation in being known as someone people can count on, Yohan can sometimes also find himself too caught up in what he needs to do, and this can lead to episodes of him overworking himself by staying up too late or working relentlessly until he comes to a stopping point that he's satisfied with. Most of the time, he does a good job in regulating himself, but when an idea strikes him and he begins working on an engineering or robotics project, he just gets so caught up in his ideas that he can get carried away sometimes. This level of focus and concentration, when in moderation, gives Yohan noteworthy stamina to tackle certain tasks throughout the week, but it's also important to note that there are also times when his friends will need to step in and persuade him to rest too.

[   -   ]  evasive, hesitant, indecisive, overthinker, passive

With all things considered, perhaps the biggest flaw Yohan has deals with his tendency to avoid conflict and uncomfortable situations, leading to prolonged discomfort in which tension could have been addressed and resolved earlier on if it weren't for his overthinking and evasive approach towards confrontation. In such cases, Yohan usually confides in the few people he really trusts with these sorts of issues (mostly his cousin Dayeon and, later on, some of his trusted coworkers and Seongjun) for support and different opinions and advice, but even then, it's not very effective because he's too hesitant to do anything until he has to.

Additionally, while Yohan is known as one of the neighborhood nice guys, sometimes he's a bit too nice. Even though he's usually composed, he's not good at dealing with high-emotion scenarios, with one major example being anything that's remotely romance-related. Yes, he's an honest person, but he also has a weak heart when it comes to denying a date proposal or rejecting a love confession, and as much as he tries to maintain a calm demeanor, it tends to evoke a very awkward atmosphere filled with vague statements and tense silences. To worsen things, he ends up overthinking and berating himself later on because he "could've worded it better" or because he "let them down too harshly", and as a result, he loses sleep for the night because he's too hard on himself and his sudden lack of social skills in these situations. It's because of this why Yohan's very evasive with anything remotely related to romance and crushes and dates unless he's really comfortable with the person, and this is the primary reason why he's remained single for pretty much all his life.

Any academic stress is fine. Any kind of general, everyday social interaction is also fine. Yohan is overall very open and social, but throw in the romance element and he's ready to slip out and avoid the conflict when given the opportunity because this is not his forte and if there's anything that he'd like to hide from, it's these kinds of confrontations and awkward situations.

background  Yohan was born and raised in Seoul to his father, a biomedical engineer, and his mother, a physician's assistant at a downtown hospital in Seoul. Given this, it's not surprising that their family is well-off in terms of financial status, and until now, Yohan lives a very comfortable life as they take annual vacation trips overseas and enjoy fine dining every now and then to destress and enjoy life. Rather than spoiling himself with luxury cars and the latest fashion trends though, Yohan utilizes the opportunities he's been given to truly learn and engage himself in technology and the sciences. It's been this way since he was in elementary and middle school where he would watch youtube videos about science experiments and robotics, and where he would attend after school private tutoring and actually pay attention to the material he was learning, allowing him to excel in his studies and develop a unique sense of intellectual creativity. This, along with the attention he received from his parents and peers, really helped build his self-confidence, and Yohan isn't afraid to let people know how much he really loves with the sciences.

If there was any major conflict that he had to pinpoint in his life though, it would be towards the end of his 8th grade and the beginning of his 9th grade year when he really began to question his uality, primarily facilitated when he had started to receive a lot of confessions from girls in his grade but didn't seem to reciprocate the feeling towards anyone. Moreover, in his freshman year in high school, Yohan had found himself attracted to an upperclassman - Choi Kangmin - who had actually been the president of the robotics club and was actually one of the people who recruited Yohan in the first few weeks of school.

At first, Yohan didn't know whether his feelings were just simply admiration for Kangmin, as the latter was older and more knowledgeable and more experienced, but with time, the younger came to terms that he romantically liked Kangmin for both his intelligence, his openness, and his dedication to what he really loved. Dayeon was the only person who ever knew about this though, as Yohan trusted her the most and she herself had came out to him a year ago.

Even if Yohan's first real affection for someone did last for 11 months though, he remained relatively silent about it despite Dayeon's encouragement because he had never been good with these kinds of situations, and with Kangmin's graduation a year after they met, Yohan let it go just like that and continued focusing on school and the club activities, acting like nothing really happened. He ended up joining the officer team in his second year as the robotics club secretary, and just this spring before vacation begin, he was voted to be vice president in this upcoming school year.

Overall, Yohan's academic career has been very successful as he scores very high in his school, landing him acceptance into a top 8-week summer enrichment program for engineering at Seoul National University. His short-term aspiration is to make it into KAIST, or the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in Daejeon, and his long-term goal is to become a biomedical engineer and be able to develop a medical robotics system for hospitals to use for patient care and treatment.

Knowing that studying at KAIST or even any of the other prestigious Korean universities would be heavy in terms of tuition though (even with scholarships), Yohan thought about getting a job, though in all honesty he hadn't been sure where exactly. It was through Dayeon and her friend Gong Minki, both of whom attended Apgujeong High School too, that he was introduced to MP! as originally a customer. The game nights and weekend gatherings were fun and great destressors, and Yohan found the company and the workers very likable, so after employee applications began opening up towards the end of May and Minki continuously pestering him to join the workforce too, the former gave in and did so in the first week of June, hoping that just as the Apgujeong robotics club was his family during the school year, the MP! family would be beginning from now to graduation.

SCHEDULE  yohan enrolled into an 8-week summer enrichment program centered around engineering and robotics for current high school students and upcoming university freshmen. it begins 2 weeks after summer vacation starts, which is slightly after when yohan gets the job at MP! gaming cafe.

—  window-shopping on amazon and ebay

habits:
—  drinks a lot of water, or else he'll easily feel more tired and irritated.
—  avoids confrontation and takes the peaceful way out
—  being terrible at lying; he tends to avoid eye contact or bring up another topic as a distraction, and it's usually not subtle at all, much to his dismay.
—  hides his face in his hands whenever he's embarrassed
—  tells dayeon everything
—  answers people with questions when they ask him for his opinion on things. for example, if a coworker asks what game he wants to play, he'll answer "which ones are you in the mood for?"

fun facts:
—  Yohan is an only child, and he has no pets!
—  He's currently a student in his final year at Apgujeong High School.
—  He likes guys and doesn't deny it when asked, but he doesn't really talk about it because there's no reason to in general. So far, only Dayeon knows, but it's not long before the other MP! employees do too.
—  He's never dated anyone and has only seriously liked one person in his life (Choi Kangmin, a former upperclassman student at his school) - at least, until Seongjun comes along.
—  Yohan's best at games that emphasize hand-eye coordination (ie. Jenga, Pictionary, Operation), strategy (Monopoly, Ticket to Ride, Dungeons & Dragons), and/or logic (Clue, Catan, Pandemic).
—  He's worst at games that emphasize words and wittiness (Codename, Taboo, Apples to Apples) and pop culture knowledge (trivia-based games in general).
—  The exception to the point above is Scrabble because he'll randomly pull out scientific terms like "neutrino" and "regelation" and "paraffin". At first, the other employees used to always spell-check the more complex terms because they didn't believe him, but as time passes, the cafe staff and regular customers have come to just blindly trust him (except for the really competitive players).
—  Games that rely on luck (ie. The Game of Life) are a hit-or-miss with him.
—  He's decent at video games - not the best, but also not the worst, and he has no problem joining in if anyone offers.
—  Yohan has a love-hate relationship with the game Mafia. If he's the cop or mafia or another major, he tends to do a very good job in staying hidden until someone calls him out - then he can't really lie, or he becomes more nervous or flustered. His Mafia strategy is basically just to remain lowkey and follow along with the discussion without gathering too much attention.

yohan says
—  "Please don't make me choose, please don't make me choose, please don't make me choose."
—  "I'm not a genius. I just enjoy, like... quantum physics... and stuff..."
—  "(leaning over towards the person sitting beside him in Monopoly) Okay, but if you land on any of the green property and let me buy it from you, I'll pay 1.5x the original price and you can land on it in the future for free."

—  "Yohan would be that one college roommate who gets drunk and ends up creating a blueprint for an entire airplane."
—  "Everyone and their dog knows that Yohan is practically Bill Gates' long-lost Korean son."
—  "His IQ is probably double of mine, which would be sad, except I feel almost honored that we breathe the same air every week."
—  "Do you think he'll remember me in the future? Maybe sign my forehead? I will sell the air he breathes."
—  "Okay but why does he get to be on your team? Again???"
—  "I think his mom typoed the name on his birth certificate. His name's actually Yonan. Detective Yonan."
—  (before playing Super Smash Bros) "Can someone please stop Yohan from choosing Kirby again? Can someone please stop Yohan from choosing Kirby again?!"

it's dangerous to go alone! take this.

relationships

—    yang dayeon (17)  |   cousin  ( fc: izone's jo yuri )

occupation: high school student (upcoming final year)
closeness: 10 out of 10
personality: daring, impatient, outspoken, quirky, social

If there's anyone who knows Yohan more than himself, it would no doubt be his cousin Dayeon. Growing up around the same area of Seoul, the two have always been there for each other despite their contrasting personalities, as Dayeon is very much upbeat and daring whereas Yohan is much more level-headed and cautious. Throughout the years though, perhaps the biggest bonding moment for them was in his 8th grade year when Yohan became the first person she came out as biual to. It would be a lie to say he wasn't caught off guard, but nonetheless he still loved her and treated her no differently, and their mutual trust eventually led her to being the first to find out that he himself was romantically interested in guys in his 9th grade year.

All in all, Dayeon is the accelerator and Yohan is the decelerator, and even with the drastic difference in their character, they complement each other well and make a well-balanced duo. Dayeon pushes Yohan to explore opportunities and experience new things that may initially be out of his comfort zone (ie. bungee-jumping, which he'll never do again), and Yohan helps keep her out of trouble by holding her back from doing rash and reckless things. It also helps that they read each other like an open book, and Yohan sees her as a confidante and advice giver when he finds himself in an awkward or uncomfortable situation.

Trivia:
—  Dayeon lives a 10-minute walk away from Yohan, so they hang out a lot both during and after school, including during the summer time.
—  Dayeon was actually the person who introduced Yohan to MP! cafe, as she heard about it from her group of friends. She invited Yohan to come with her to one of the game nights and since then, Yohan finds himself dropping by whenever she does to relax and have some fun.
—  She's considered very athletic, and is currently a member of the Apgujeong High School volleyball team/club.
—  She's only dated one person so far and that ex is Yoo Seyoung, who she has a very tense relationship now after their breakup 3 months ago.
—  Following the beginnings of the Seyoung flirting fiasco (explained in the LI section), Dayeon tries to avoid dropping by the cafe whenever Seyoung is there. She also begins talking more to Seongjun more, given how much he knows and how close he's gotten to Yohan.

—    gong minki (17)  |   friend and coworker ( collab w. lagomorphic! )

occupation: high school student & MP! employee
closeness: 7 out of 10 (later a 9)
personality: amiable, genuine, imaginative, talkative

Although Yohan has known Minki for years given they're in the same grade at Apgujeong High, the two have never really talked until Dayeon, who had been friends with Minki and his friends, formally introduced them one day at one of the volleyball games that she and Soojin attended. Since then, the two began talking a bit more, and it was actually Minki who had invited them to come to MP! for an evening of games and fun. The night didn't disappoint and Yohan had a great time, and so when employee applications rolled out and Minki jumped on board, the latter convinced him to join too, knowing he had been considering a summer job anyway.

Since they both started working at MP! together, they've gotten a lot closer, and even with their contrasting personalities, Yohan finds Minki very good company and both a great friend and a great worker. Most of the time, it's the other who talks and Yohan who listens and nods along, but Minki's very honest and good-hearted, and those are traits that Yohan really admires in him.

—    kim minwoo (20)  |   friend and coworker ( collab w. whippedforhendery! )

occupation: college student & MP! employee
closeness: 8 out of 10
personality: dedicated, imaginative, protective, respectful, upbeat

If there's anyone who acts as a great brotherly figure to Yohan, it would be Minwoo. The guy is a giant puppy stuck in a human's body, and even though he's super loud and a little overprotective, it's a nice change for Yohan who's never had any siblings before. Apart from the fact that Minwoo seems to be rather fond and even slightly intimidated by Yohan, the former also occasionally asks him for help, to which Yohan is always happy to assist even if it is higher-level college work. Surprisingly, Yohan actually understands the material more than half of the time, and even when he doesn't, he reads through Minwoo's college textbook and somehow puts one and one together to synthesize a coherent answer, always eager to learn and happy to help as the older's baby brother #2.

—    hwang hanyeon (17)  |   friend and coworker

occupation: high school student & MP! employee
closeness: 7 out of 10
personality: assertive, perceptive, responsible, tidy

Given how energetic and loud most of the other cafe employees are, Yohan is most likely one of the people who bug Hanyeon the least, as he's usually very composed, gentle, and easygoing in nature. It would be a lie to say he hadn't been intimidated by her at first, but it turned out that they were a little bit more alike than he'd expected her to be as they're both very introspective and tidy, and Yohan finds her to be much more easy to get along with as time passes and they become more acquainted through work and games. Yohan also very much admires how straightforward she is, and it's a trait that he honestly wishes he could hone a bit more rather than avoid confrontation when things get uncomfortable. Hanyeon's very mature, and as much as he loves all of the other employees too, he's glad that he can find someone who isn't always energetic and pestering him to do things - it's a nice change of pace, and he hopes that he can be someone she opens up to a bit more in the future.

—    yoo seyoung (17)  |   cousin's ex ( fc: loona's jeon heejin )

occupation: high school student (upcoming final year)
closeness: 2 out of 10
personality: dedicated, hopeful, peppy, supportive, talkative

Despite hearing about Seyoung all the time during the 4-month period that she and his cousin Dayeon were dating (after meeting and getting to know each other thanks to volleyball season), Yohan had never actually met her until that one day when she entered MP! and walked up to him at the front counter. Honestly, he doesn't know what's more awkward: the fact that she starts to come regularly to half-flirt with him, or the fact that he recognizes her but not vice versa. The bigger problem is that, as a cafe employee, he's practically obligated to talk and keep her company, but the situation is so one-sidedly ironic and awkward on his end that he has no idea what to do except ask for help from the other employees to try and cover for him as much as they can. Considering she's actually from Incheon and is only visiting for the summer to stay with family, he just has to keep it on the downlow and not make things awkward - not too hard, right?

personality

[   +  ]   active, considerate, confident, spirited
[   /   ]   competitive, daring, mischievous, protective
[   -   ]   hot-headed, lethargic, petty, reckless

Seongjun is both a leader and a team player, and this primarily comes from his role as vice captain for his school's soccer team. Enthusiastic, confident, and competitive, Seongjun's can-do attitude translates from sports to work where he's always eager to facilitate and join any games. He's one of the people who likes taking charge, guiding others and teaching them and being more than happy to answer any questions, and it definitely shows both during and after work hours with his coworkers and the friends he make at the cafe.

As playful and competitive as he is though, there are at times when Seongjun does get too carried away with his shenanigans to the point that it can be impulsive and rash, such as pranking some of his friends/coworkers or staying out at night until midnight to play soccer or playing some questionable games (like truth or dare). He also does tend to stay up late, and as animated as he usually is, he definitely doesn't fare the best when it comes to continuous morning shifts, which may or may not lead to some tired mumbling (to Yohan, for example) or some small favors that he promises to make up for another time.

Lastly, Seongjun isn't the best at the whole 'forgive and forget' ordeal, as he does tend to hold grudges and be a little more aggressive when he feels like he's been wronged. It doesn't happen often because Seongjun's usually very friendly, but if he does see something that puts him off the wrong way (such as rudeness towards a friend or coworker), he doesn't hesitate to defend them, and he most definitely doesn't hesitate to keep this in mind the next time he meets them. Call him overprotective, yes, but Seongjun honestly just really cares and looks out for people, so it's no wonder why he's very well-liked both in school and at work.

love story Seeing that Seongjun attends Yongnam High (located on the other side of the city), their first meeting was at MP! when they ended up working the same shift. It was Seongjun who started the conversation first as a way to get to know his coworkers, and Yohan easily returned the friendly gesture, allowing them to become friends rather quickly,. From then on, they would have casual conversations during the shifts they had together, and Yohan found himself to be comfortable around Seongjun's happy-go-lucky aura.

The real catalyst behind it all was when a familiar face entered the cafe one day and approached one of the workers, who happened to be Yohan - except the familiar face wasn't a friend, but was actually Yoo Seyoung, otherwise known as his cousin's ex-girlfriend from Incheon. Seyoung didn't seem to recognize him at all though, as most of the time she did spend in Seoul was with Dayeon or at a volleyball competition during sports season, and as much as Yohan tried to play it off cool, Seongjun seemed to have noticed the one-sided tension.

"Uh, hey-" Seongjun had chimed, approaching Yohan after Seyoung left not long ago. "Sorry if I'm prying, but is everything okay? Cause, like, you were really stiff back there and I don't think she noticed but it was pretty obvious otherwise and I just wanted to see if you were alright."

Rather than denying it though, Yohan groaned and hid his face behind his palms, sliding them down his cheeks in dread and causing the other to raise a brow in question. "That was my cousin's ex-girlfriend and I don't think she recognized me, but it was so ironically uncomfortable and I half want to defenestrate myself right now. Please save me."

"Oh- dude, that is awkward. Why didn't you tell me? I got your back, man."

"Ugh, it's... fine. I guess. She doesn't even live here, so she's probably just visiting for a little bit and somehow managed to find this place. Everything's good. Maybe she'll head back to Incheon soon or something."

Except, Seyoung doesn't, and the next time she returns, it's a few days later and Yohan finds out that she's here for practically the entire summer to stay with family. To make it even worse, Seongjun lays down the fact that Seyoung totally started flirting with Yohan, and the latter feels plagued because if it's anything he hates, it's this kind of awkward situation.

"You sure you still don't need my help?" Seongjun asks later on after Seyoung finally leaves, only to be greeted with a pained smile from Yohan.

"You know what? I'll take it. I'll take all of it," the latter mumbles into his hands.

And thus began Seongjun's right-hand man mission to intervene whenever Seyoung does drop by, whether it's volunteering to teach her the rules of the game that he's pretty sure she should know or to play with her with whichever games she wanted to choose, and in the situations that she arrived and wanted to join a game that Yohan was already in, Seongjun would come to the rescue and join as well to add some distance between the two.

They're both smart though - Yohan and Seongjun - and they're still subtle and professional to keep it lowkey for both Seyoung and the other customers, but one day when someone brings up the question of whether or not the two were more than just friends due to how close they seem to have grown, Yohan's perspective of Seongjun and their predicament almost completely changes. The next thing he knows, he's starting to overthink about whether Seongjun has the wrong idea or started to consider him a different way, and suddenly, Yohan's senses are heightened around Seongjun, registering their physical closeness that's too close or their small touches that linger a little bit too long.

Somewhere along the way, the line in their friendship has been blurred, especially after Yohan finds out that Seongjun himself is bi and that there's a possibility that the older may feel the same way about him too. It leads to a kind of ambiguous "does he like me?" and "he asked me to hang out but is it supposed to be a date?" situation that Yohan would've never expected - and he has aboely no idea what to do.

Ending  Seeing them finally get past the stage of ambiguity and vague flirting to admit their feelings for each other would be great! From Yohan's side, it would've caused him a whole bunch of grief from how he has to both avoid Seyoung and avoid overthinking his interactions with Seongjun, but perhaps when they finally confess to each other, Seongjun reveals that he's admired Yohan since the moment they met, and that it was through Dayeon and some of the other employees that he was able to work up the courage to finally settle things with Yohan (and maybe even ask him out!).

"hello, Yohan! i'm jikyung, one of the managers at mp! gaming cafe. tell me a little about yourself!"

Yohan extends a hand to shake hers with a gentle smile. "Hi, I'm Yang Yohan - nice to formally meet you! Well, to start, I'm currently seventeen and about to start my last year in high school this upcoming academic year, and I'm striving to major in biomedical engineering after I graduate. Interests-wise, you can probably tell already by my aspiring major but I really like robotics and drawing and science -  just anything that I can work on with my hands in general."

"what made you apply for a job here? any experience?"

"With graduation coming in about a year and college approaching quicker than I'd imagine anyone would've anticipated, I figured that maybe it was time for me to begin looking for a summer job? You know, to help pay for my tuition and everything, especially if I end up heading out of the city for Daejeon or Busan and such. Seeing that I was introduced to the cafe a little while back and I really like the atmosphere here, I thought that this would be the perfect place to apply for. As for experience, this is my first job but I have worked in a somewhat management-position as an officer of my high school's robotics club, if that counts! We do handle club funds, weekly meetings, and monthly events, so I hope that could be considered as a type of informal kind of experience!"

"know how to play any of the games here? we do tend to teach and facilitate some games!"

"I do, and I would be happy to teach and facilitate some games! I've been dragged into a whole myriad of them, especially with the big collection you guys have here, but I have to say that I'm definitely best when it comes to Monopoly, Jenga, Club, and Pandemic."

"any events you want to suggest for the cafe? WE'RE OPEN TO IDEAS!"

"Oh, definitely! One event I had in mind was maybe a monthly or bi-monthly team tournament? It's a bit complex at first, but I was thinking that maybe we could split all of the employees into a certain number of teams, and when customers come to the cafe, they could register to join the tournament and we can sort them into a certain team based on their availability. Then, for maybe that week or weekend, the total points accumulated through wins and participation by the members for their teams can be tallied, and the winning team and its members get to be featured on a 'winner's wall' and maybe be given a small promotional reward, like a discount."

you have reached the end!

last words first off, i'm super sorry about the length of my application hhh. i really tried to go back and shorten some things, but i also didn't want to end up excluding some information that would maybe end up being useful when you try to understand yohan's character! with this said, please feel free to ask me to clarify anything as i'll be more than happy to do so! other than that, thank you soooo so so much for considering yohan and for taking the time to sit down and actually read through this lengthy mess. i absolutely love the idea of this applyfic, and i hope you find yohan to your liking!
