떡김치, DDEOKKIMCHI　a combination of the k-drama, goblin, and her love for traditional korean food (especially kimchi). first starting off with her love for traditional korean food, the love developing as a child, there was an instance where minji ate korean food, especially kimchi and meat, for nearly a week. her brother started calling her 'kimchi', but once she binged watch the drama 'goblin' once (read: five times. she's obsessed.), her nickname upgraded to 'ddeokkimchi' by her brother. soon enough, it caught on with those around her.

PART ONE, THE INFANT
"MINSEOK'S ALWAYS THE FAVORITE."

it feels as if since the moment minji was born on june 19 before her brother, she was always the one being looked down upon. she assumes it's because her parents wanted a boy more than a girl, a likely reason when your father's a sports fanatic and your mother held a lot of anger and stress inside her (and, according to everyone, having a girl causes the most stress). although her parents continued to say that they loved both their children equally, it was evident they favored minseok over minji. they always looked after minseok more while minji played alone, they always asked for minseok even when minji would be right next to them, and they even played with minseok while minji would just be sitting and eating alone.

one saving grace, however, was always when her mother would be cooking meals in the kitchen. unlike minseok, at the time, minji would wake up early and see what her breakfast and lunch for school would be, and, for minji, that would be the only time she'd receive attention and for good reasons. that's when she fell in love with the way her mother prepared meals and enjoyed seeing her presence in the kitchen as a child, and eventually wanted to become part of the culinary field.

PART TWO, THE CHILD
"WHY?"

late into her childhood years, her mother suddenly disappeared and, despite being young, had a gut feeling it was because of her father. a few weeks after her mother's disappearance, her father appeared with a number of luggages and a woman. a woman. that was the moment minji realized that maybe her mother left because of her father's infidelity. although she hated her father and, ultimately, hated her new mother, the older woman started to grow on her, with the only reason being that she shared a love for the kitchen as well. minji started to ask about how to make meals and dishes and, at such a young age, she became a prodigy in the kitchen. and, this time around, she was getting the attention she craved from her step-mother.

however, despite her efforts in showing that she enjoyed cooking to the rest of her family, minji was still being pushed into the life of sports. she did pretty much every sport, yet didn't excell in a lot of them. because of her tall height of 173cm, she excelled in volleyball. although her father didn't know much about the sport, he was glad she found a sport she was good at. yet, that's all he cared about. he never watched her games, he never took her to practice— her father was never supporting her in the sport. she blames it on the fact that minseok's schedule always somehow aligned with hers, and whenever it didn't, he would come late into the game or even at the end. her step-mother, however, was always front row at every game and was always the one picking her up from practice, even going as far as watching the last few minutes. minji doesn't know if it's because her step-mother wants to impress minji or not, but minji started to like her for the sole reason she was supporting her in everything.

PART THREE, THE TEENAGER
"STOP BLAMING YOURSELF."

whe she got into high school, she was fortunate enough to find that the school had a volleyball team/club and, whilst on the team, was one of the better players compared to everyone else. she assumes it's because the team was made up of a few people who played professionally while the majority only played for fun or thought it wouldn't be a 'hard' sport. she started to shine on the court, even making a name for herself quickly into her early years of high school, but when your brother already had a name since even before high school, minji was always referred to as "minseok's sister" by people who didn't know her volleyball abilities. of course, minji was upset, but she couldn't do much about it besides continuing to do what she does best.

everything started to crumble down for minji when she was seventeen. although she became a volleyball co-captain, being the first underclassmen to do so, she found herself in a car accident on her way to a volleyball match. this was one of the few times her whole family would be watching her play and that got minji fired up. she wanted to show them, her father especially, that she's actually good at something, but on the way to the school, a car ran the red light and t-boned her family. and what made it worse was that it was on minji's side. instead of rushing to her game, minji was rushed onto a gurney and to the hospital.

it took awhile for minji to recover from her bone fracture in her right leg and a few bruises, that were still visible upon discharge, but her whole family was by her side the whole time. she was thankful for them and, despite all the downfalls she faced with her family, they were willing to stay by her side through tough times. however, her injury meant that she couldn't finish the volleyball season off which meant she had to quit for the year. although she was able to watch her team during matches, she felt bad for the fact she couldn't finish the season on the court with them. the girls understood why and told her that she's still welcome to join when she's fully healed, but minji made the sudden decision of quitting the sport as a whole in fear that she wouldn't perform as great as she once did. when she told her family this, they were all shocked. minseok knew that minji's decision was the best for her, even admitting that he'd do the same if he was in her shoes, but their father thought otherwise. her father thought that minji was too quick to give up, but when minji said that it was because she can finally pursue her dream of being a chef, that's when all hell went loose. her father started to yell over the fact she was choosing such a petty field such as culinary arts, and even her step-mother, the one person who supported her in everything, said it was a difficult major after you graduate. minji, although in tears, learned to fight back for what she wants. she began to talk back, saying that this was her dream for a long time and she was going to pursue it no matter what.

into their last year of high school, minji was still adament on going into culinary and enrolled into culinary arts at eumshik university. her and her brother, at the time, started to become close after what happened to minji with their parents, and minseok even asked minji to get an apartment with him. to minji, it seemed like a weird request, especially when minseok was pretty much attached to their father by the hip since day one, but minji doesn't know the underlying reason as to why he wanted to get away from home (see minseok's trivia in the relationships section below). so, the two got an apartment together and eventually felt as if everything was going right and was calming for the hyeong twins.

PART FOUR, THE ADULT
"I DON'T NEED YOU."

now freshmen in college, the two siblings are so reliant on each other for things, especially minseok towards minji in pretty much everything. it gets annoying at times for minji, but when you're living with them for the duration of (hopefully) their college years, you come to learn when to shut them out and when to actually provide help. regardless, the two siblings are just happy to be out of their parents' eyes and are pursuing their own dreams.

· her annoying younger twin brother that actually depends on minji and has been for the duration of their whole life. he always says he can't survive without minji and, although minji shouldn't laugh at this fact, she actually finds it amusing since he's old enough to support himself, but needs the guidance and support of his sister to get by.

· growing up, minji never really talked to her brother outside of school and sports (when she did do sports), only because they never shared any interests together besides some classes they shared and the same sport they joined. however, since they're different majors, with her in culinary arts and him in physical education, their talks are limited. but when they do talk, people say it's the most entertaining thing to see since their conversations are scattered and very random. the place where the two talk to most is in the apartment and on their way to school as their classes are around the same timeframe.

· the two siblings developed a habit in leaving sticky notes in the kitchen about their whereabouts and thoughts. typically, minji leaves notes when she sees that minseok had a bad day, so her notes are typically full of positivity and sweetness (with the addition of what she'll cook after school or what she did cook before leaving). minseok, on the other hand, leaves notes of funny things and jokes when he sees that minji's stressed or having a bad day. he also leaves his whereabouts since minji worries over him.

· he works parttime at an internet cafe over the summer and only in the summer because their father wants him to focus on his soccer career.

· unknowing to minji, but minseok actually doesn't want to pursue a career in soccer and actually wanted to become a high school teacher. he's told their father this back in high school, but a huge fight broke out between him and their father over the fact teachers aren't successful compared to becoming an athlete. minseok's kept this from minji in fear that she might think he's weak since he always shows a brave and strong personality in front of her. he wants to tell his sister, but he's scared that she'll see him in a different light. this is also the reason he depends on her so much. he can't depend on his own father for support when he doesn't support his dream, so he goes to minji instead.

BEST FRIEND

· jihoon was a member of the boy's soccer team in high school and was actually friends with minseok before minji. she would always run into him from time to time, especially during soccer practice when she would finish early and she'd be waiting for her brother, but they never talked until her brother brought him to the apartment. that's when minji embarrassingly was walking around in just a towel because silly girl forgot her clothes in her room that's down the hall and she ran into jihoon. although it was embarrassing for her, he actually found it amusing and actually brings this up a lot in front of her for laughs.

· minji would be lying if she said she never liked jihoon. because she did up until college rolled in. when minji thought he was going to seoul national university, he shows up to the same university as her, saying he got a soccer scholarship and will be continuing his soccer career with her brother.

· unknowing to minseok, but minji and jihoon did hook up for a bit, dating behind minseok's back, for about a month. however, their feelings started to fade and they decided to just remain friends and, to this day, they erased the fact that they ever hooked up in the first place. they later told minseok about it and he just laughed right in their face, telling them that he already knew since the first day jihoon stumbled into their apartment one night and heard 'weird sounds' coming from minji's room across the hall (yes. they did the dirty. and yes. he took her v card.).

· their conversations are pretty much all over the place since they're not afraid to talk to each other about embarassing and/or funny moments in their lives. jihoon's also the first person minji will go to to rant and vent her feelings out to.

· he works parttime at a local game stop that (wow. shocker.) is near the internet cafe where minseok works. when minji found out about this, she started to assume that jihoon and minseok were going to be a 'thing' since they're pretty much glued to the hip 24/7, even sharing the same major of freshman/general classes (e.g. math, freshman lecture, art, etc.) and having the same work hours.

· jihoon originally wanted to do physical education as a major alongside minseok, but he thought he would enjoy and be better in architecture, like his father, as he enjoys drawing and the aspects of buildings. he does, as mentioned previously, have the same general freshman classes as minseok, and they both vowed to have (or at least try) to have at least one class together for every semester.

· when he finds out that minji likes dongmin, he'll start to and poke fun at her. jihoon's the first person to find out as minji told him and, since then, minji regrets telling him because of how flustered she gets.

MUKBANG GIRLFRIEND

· seulhui and minji met when minji was still a newbie in samwon garden restaurant and, seulhui being seulhui, decided it was in her best interest to pay the restaurant a visit for a cute photo session. minji didn't blame her since the scenery is probably the best scenery for a restaurant that's manmade (it's actually really pretty and i recommend looking up 'samwon garden restaurant seoul' to see it) and the food was even more aesthetically pleasing. but, of course, seulhui went by herself and after seeing minji, seulhui started to feel even lonlier than usual. so, seulhui called over minji and, from then on, they've been pretty inseperable.

· minji actually knows seulhui through mark as she always saw her hanging out with him after classes in high school. however, they never talked until seulhui walked into the restaurant. from then on, minji was always hanging out (read: third wheeling) seulhui and mark at school.

· although online the two seem extremely close to each other, they started to drift apart. seulhui doesn't know as to why this happened, but minji blames it on herself, saying that the stress of family and school (her crisis) started to take a toll on her life and she started to hang around seulhui and mark less. they do still hang out from time to time, especially when it came to eating, but their conversations were always the same: school, work, foodstagram, and small chunks of their life. minji also blames herself for the fact that seulhui thinks she doesn't have 'true friends' for this reason.

"HYUNG" FRIEND

· minhyung, or mark as many call him, met minji when he was in dire need of a math tutor back in freshman (first) year of high school. and, lo and behold, minji was mark's best bet since she held one of the higher grades in math (how? don't know. she's just an a1 math geek.). luckily, they shared the same math class and after rushing up to her desk after class ended, pleading for help, that's when they started to talk more.

· alike to seulhui, minji started to talk less with mark for the same reason (her crisis), but, because mark is someone she's known for longer compared to seulhui, minji talks to him a little bit more than seulhui. however, their talks are still short in person, but are more loud and long through text/social media.

PART ONE
"WHY CAN'T YOU BE LIKE MINSEOK?"

growing up, minji was always compared to her younger twin brother, minseok, with her parents. she always felt inferior to her brother despite being the eldest and having seemingly better grades than him. but her parents only cared for the fact that he was better athletically and was willing to pursue a career in the sports industry as their father wanted. and, so, minji and minseok did as they were told. but after getting a broken leg in a car accident in high school, which led to minji to fall back on her second passion, cooking, she started to lose faith in herself. as her parents focused their time on their "better" child, minji was left in shambles and started to view the world differently.

minji has difficulty facing her family after they told her off for wanting to go into culinary after her injury, and that leads to her ultimate downfall: family. she feels as if her parents don't want what's best for her, but what's best for them. and what they want is the only way to be content in life. now living in the shadow of a star soccer player in the same college, she feels as if she's useless to the point she questions whether or not her life is truly worth it.

PART TWO
"I'M SORRY. PLEASE FORGIVE ME."

when minji's mother seemingly disappeared for a reason that's unknown to her and her brother, her father was quick to remarry. although minji hated her father at that very moment, she actually enjoyed being around her step-mother. minji assumes it's because her step-mother had the same passion for cooking and owned the restaurant minji currently works in, but the underlying factor was the fact that her step-mother accepted minji for who she is and what she wants. her father, on the other hand, was someone she couldn't stand and couldn't face anymore. her only way in talking to her father was through her brother, especially considering that she feels like her father hates her.

PART THREE
"WILL YOU REALLY GET FAR IN LIFE?"

when she thought everything was going her way, her brother slowly becomes more successful and, soon enough, the one person that accepted her suddenly sees that minji has (seemingly) no life ahead of her. although willing to let her work at her restaurant, minji's step-mother sees that she won't make a good enough living compared to her mother. and that's when her second crisis begins: her career. her step-mother puts the idea that culinary arts is a tough major to find a steady occupation in, and with her brother being scouted by plenty early in his uni career, minji starts to question whether or not her happiness and enjoyment for her major is really worth it. again, she starts to feel inferior and begins to realize that people don't care about her. she's only good at being hyeong minseok's older twin, anyway.

PART FOUR
"HEY, YOU'RE NOT ALONE."

as her father and step-mother begin to focus more on minseok, minji begins to seek guidance and love from others. she finds herself spending more time with jihoon compared to her brother, even despite living with her brother in their shared apartment a few minutes away from school, and she finds herself spending time with the foodstagrammers. after meeting seulhui at the restaurant during her work hours and almost instantly befriending her after seulhui said she was 'lonely' and 'wanted someone to talk and sit with her', she found herself slowly becoming more happy and content with the people around her. however, she's still afraid to speak about her issues. although they're seemingly small issues, to minji, they still rattle her brain.

스타 보이,STAR BOY　a nickname that minji and only minji calls him. it first started as a nickname only minji thought to herself, never saying it aloud. but after initiating a conversation with him on the bus after a long weekend and seeing him at the park over and over again, the nickname slipped out. dongmin was actually fine with the nickname, even saying it was 'cute' and 'unique'. and thus, the nickname stuck with both of them.

똥, DDONG　his buddy moonbin started calling him 'ddong' ('poop' in korean) after dongmin started calling him 'moonbum/moonbutt' right in his face. it isn't the most pleasing nickname for dongmin, but he thinks that he deserves it. but now all his friends call him 'ddong' and, sometimes even, when minji's mad at him, she'll call him 'ddong'.

· moonbin and dongmin have known each other for as long as they can remember. although moonbin is younger by a year, the two assume they got close because of the fact they're family friends. they see each other as brothers and tell each other everything. and by everything, i mean everything. there's not one secret that the other person doesn't know, and that's how the two like it.

· dongmin considers moonbin his only friend, and that's only because he's had people who stabbed him in the back or have used him in the past, especially girls (further info in first meeting and ending). dongmin has a difficult time trusting others in fear that he'll be used or pushed away. moonbin is one of the few people he trusts with his own life since they've known each other for practically their whole lives.

· moonbin is actually a waiter in samwon garden restaurant in seoul, sk. yes, he's minji's coworker. and yes, he knows who hyeong minji is. moonbin and minji talk from time to time, but it's usually when moonbin sees that minji's under some stress or looks down. he even goes as far as taking part, or even all, of her shift(s) at work when she wants to take a break. dongmin doesn't find out about this since ~~clueless~~ moonbin doesn't realize that the girl dongmin always talks about is her and only tells him after the fact dongmin gets closer with minji.

· moonbin's currently in his last year in high school as he's a year younger than dongmin. however, he plans to enroll as a psychology major with a photography minor, though he doesn't know which college/university to attend. he wants to major in psychology because he enjoys helping others with their problems, a reason why dongmin trusts him more than anyone, and he's someone who you can talk to and actually get good feedback. as for photography, he enjoys taking pictures and thinks that he'll enjoy it, hoping to pursue some career in the future as a side job.

· dongmin doesn't know seulhui all too well, only knowing her from the days he would just casually be walking around campus and she walks by. he does, however, vaguely recognize her from the times she'd go to terarosa coffee shop during his work hours a few times. they, however, don't talk and actually don't know each other personally, but once he sees that minji's close with seulhui, that's when he starts noticing seulhui more on campus, in hopes that he'll see minji more.

· as for mark, dongmin knows him only because they share college algebra together. they know of each other's presence, but they don't talk outside of what homework is and minor help in class. but, again, once dongmin sees that mark is friends with minji, he'll start to talk more to him about things other than math.

THE MEETING, PART ONE
"TOUCH HER AND YOU'RE DEAD."

unknown to minji, but their first meeting was at a school party. but their first meeting, to minji, was just a passing memory. a lot of mistakes were made and a lot of hands were thrown, but dongmin's the only person to remember this night. the events that went down were terrible for both dongmin and minji.

what basically happened was that there was a party at the end of their third year for their high school, both being in attendance but not knowing each other whatsoever. minji, at first, didn't want to go, but was ultimately forced to by her parents who thought she needed to "socialize more like [your] brother". she didn't want to argue, especially when college was coming in close and her parents were pretty much her whole income. so, she went with her brother who, although promised to stay with her through the whole party, went to party with his friends. that left minji, vulnerable and lonely as none of her friends wanted to go, saying it was only for the popular kids. even jihoon, a friend of both minseok and minji and probably just as popular as minseok, didn't go because he had other plans. thus, minji was left to bore herself out and fill herself up with drink after drink.

fastforward to a few hours later, minji started talking to a male, saying that he was one of her classmates back in their first year and liked her for awhile, but was scared to confess. minji, who was already drunk and out of her mind at this point, started to agree with everything he said. and, ultimately, she was dragged to a room upstairs and was going to be taken advantage of. keyword: going. dongmin's been watching minji for awhile (in a non-creepy and stalkerish way) from the moment her brother left her to the moment she started talking to the male who, although told minji he was a classmate, didn't even go to the same school and was in college. dongmin knew the male from a sports event for an opposing team of theirs, and he knew his reputation of having anger issues through what he saw during that sporting event.

fearing that minji was going to leave the party with a black eye of some sort, he followed the two and, long story short, fought the male and, in a way, rescued minji from being taken advantage of. he found her brother with his usual group and told him off for leaving his sister so vulnerable and out in the open, stating the events that happened. the male followed dongmin and another fight happened, which led to a massive group of people watching and, ultimately, tried to stop the fight. it took awhile for the fight to ultimately stop and, by the time dongmin left to go home, minji and minseok were nowhere to be seen.

THE MEETING, PART TWO
"HI. UM.. IS THIS SEAT TAKEN?"

once the two started senior year, minji vowed to never drink again and dongmin vowed to find minji again. after that night, dongmin couldn't stop thinking about minji. he wanted to know if she was okay, if she didn't get in trouble or anything. yet, all he knew was that her name was hyeong minji, the twin of hyeong minseok. he didn't know anything but her name, and that's what drove him crazy. throughout the summer, he tried to find her, but little did he know that minji worked for practically the whole summer and prepared for her final year of high school with the small breaks she had.

it wasn't until dongmin decided to take the bus to school since his car was in the shop. by chance, minji was also on that bus and has always taken the bus around. dongmin noticed minji sitting by herself, an empty seat right beside her, but dongmin decided to not take the chance. not yet.

they continued to take the same bus, dongmin even choosing the bus over driving just so he can see minji everyday. after a few months, dongmin decided to take a chance and sit next to her. although minji, at first, just looked at him, she did recognize him from all the bus rides and getting off and on the bus at the school. being the person she is, she said yes, despite taking notice that there were a number of empty seats available. minji, being the so-called 'k-drama' expert she is, openly asked him if he liked her, saying that there were a lot of other seats and he decided to sit next to her. dongmin just laughed, saying that he thought she was lonely and always saw her on the bus. minji just eyed him and nodded, not wanting to further initiate the conversation. and, ultimately, she didn't even ask for his name once she decided to get off.

THE MEETING, PART THREE
"HEY, STAR BOY."

they continued to sit next to each other on the bus, but minji never initiated a conversation nor did dongmin want to talk in fear that he'd say something stupid. that's all until minji decided to walk around the park one night and saw him. minji would be lying to herself if she said she didn't notice him with his large telescope and all. she recognized him and her curiosity got the most of her. she started to visit the park during their long weekend break and, of course, dongmin was there at the same time with his telescope and books.

after the long weekend break and school started up again, minji was looking forward to dongmin getting on the bus. she had a lot of questions to ask him and was curious about what he does. once dongmin got on the bus, she unconsciously blurted out "hey, star boy" in his direction followed by cussing under her breath. she didn't want to call him that aloud as it was something she thought of in her head for the past few days, but dongmin just laughed and replied with a "hey, minji". that's when the two started to have actual conversations of their interests and passions. however, dongmin left out the fact that they met before, as he wanted to save that story for when the time was right.

THE MEETING, PART FOUR
"SINCE WHEN?"

there was a period, towards the end of their senior year and into the summer, where the two didn't talk to each other because of preparations for college. of course, dongmin missed his interactions with minji, but minji began to get busier and busier with working and preparing for college. what made it worse was the fact that dongmin had a feeling they wouldn't attend the same university as he was hoping to get into hanseo university while minji was, apparently, staying local. of course, the thought saddened dongmin as the chance of running into each other was slim, he soon realized that, if it was meant to be, they'd find each other again.

unfortunately, dongmin didn't get into hanseo university, his dream school, but he didn't give up and would be sending another application and exam in hopes to transfer. so, he went for his second choice: eumshik university which, fortunately, he got in. that's when dongmin came across minji again after so long at their orientation. that's when both of them rekindled their friendship that was lost for months and began to spend more time together.

THE INTERACTIONS, PART ONE
[ STRANGERS ]

before they ever spoke, dongmin was the only one that knew who minji was. after the party, he started to worry over the girl, even despite not being friends. minji, on the other hand, doesn't know who dongmin is and was never fully informed about what happened at the party.

· dongmin's aware of who minji is, but minji doesn't know who dongmin is.

· no interactions whatsoever, even though dongmin desperately wants to reach out to her.

· awkwardly sitting beside each other on the bus after months of finally taking notice of each other.

THE INTERACTIONS, PART TWO
[ FRIENDSHIP ]

after they initiated a decent conversation, they started to talk more and more. they sometimes go out together as they both love travelling and exploring the city. after knowing that dongmin has an instagram, minji asked for his handle and they both started to follow each other.

· a lot of long conversations on the bus. sometimes they're random and all over the place, and other times they're serious and about their passions.

· they spend time together outside of school when both are bored, usually at restaurants or aesthetically pleasing places (e.g. beach, city, forest, etc.).

· occassional skinship, especially hugging, linking arms and dongmin wrapping his arm around minji's shoulder/waist. minji isn't fazed by the skinship.

· dongmin is typically the one taking minji's pictures and, in return, minji does the same for dongmin on occassion.

· both minji and dongmin comment and like each other's posts on instagram and are typically the first few people to like/comment.

THE INTERACTIONS, PART THREE
[ DATING ]

after they start dating, they begin to be present in each other's lives more than before. they're each other's go-to person when they're feeling down or want someone beside them, no matter how late at night it would be. they contact each other everyday and still continue to sit next to each other on the bus, though there's more skinship involved.

THE END, PART ONE
"WHY ARE YOU SO QUIET?"

as the school year comes to a close, minji starts to question their relationship because, out of nowhere, dongmin tells her that he was reaccepted and was going to be able to transfer into another university, his dream university, to be exact. minji doesn't know how to process this information, especially when he's going to go to hanseo university which is nearly two hours away. what makes this news worse for minji, however, is the fact that her father and step-mother still don't accept the idea that she's still wanting to become a chef and her mind is still questioning her choices. her crisis makes this news worse to her, and although dongmin knows about her whole crisis, dongmin doesn't know how much everything just hurts for her. behind her happy appearance, she's hurting on the inside, and dongmin doesn't know how badly she's hurting over everything.

minji has trouble processing everything, from her personal life to her love life, she becoming mentally drained over everything. she decides to take a break from things, seeking comfort in her bed and taking trips alone, even purposely ignoring people's texts. minji feels like a wreck and wants to disconnect from things. she chooses to not respond to the countless of texts she gets from dongmin and her friends and her instagram starts to become inactive, which eventually worries her followers. she's only willing to keep her parents and brother updated on things, but it soon becomes repetitive behavior as she'll usually text that she's 'going to work', 'cooking' or 'sleeping'.

dongmin, after a few days of not hearing from minji, decides to pay her a visit at the apartment. he doesn't tell minji, but he does send minseok a dm on instagram asking to visit, which, of course, he allows. and so, dongmin goes and, surprisingly, runs into her on her way out of the apartment building with a duffle bag and passport in hand.

THE END, PART TWO
"JUST TELL ME TO STAY AND I WILL."

dongmin, after dragging minji into his car and heading to the beach, their most visited place as a couple, they start to talk it out. apparently, minji was going to go to jeju alone and stay there for the duration of the whole summer to clear her mind and think things on her own. of course, being the person he is, dongmin throws question after question, raising his tone with every word he said. it eventually leads the two to begin a heated argument and, eventually, dongmin takes things too far by saying that she was the reason her mother left. of course, her birth mother, the only person who accepted her and actually stood by her through everything, but couldn't stay by her the whole time, and her ultimate weakness. minji starts to break down in tears and dongmin soon realizes what he's done. pleading and apologizing, dongmin can't help but hug her tight and, despite minji's efforts in pushing him away, dongmin wouldn't budge. that's when dongmin starts to learn more about who her mother was to her and the reason why she was ultimately going to jeju (the true reason being the fact she was running away).

eventually, dongmin and minji start to talk about their future, which minji kept continuously saying that he was going away. however, dongmin asks her if she wants him to stay and continue going to school with her. but minji tells him that she doesn't know, saying that this is his dream and not hers. she doesn't control his future and, besides, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity that dongmin can't pass. however, all dongmin can say is 'okay' before taking minji home and staying the night.

THE END, PART THREE
"I LOVE YOU."

i'll leave the ultimate decision to you. whether:
a. dongmin decides to go to his dream school, but will try to make long distance work with minji, a difficult thing to do sometimes and can change their future, or

b. stay with minji, aka his dream girl and go to the same school with her, seeing her more often, but pass up an opportunity of transferring to an amazing school for his future.

either way, there will definitely be bittersweet moments and a lot of ups and downs with their relationship.
