Well, In my defense {my blog post response about BTS}

Here is my original post. You can read it over and then come back if you like.

I doubt that many people will actually follow my last post blog here. I'm not unknowingly using clickbait or unknowingly trolling someone. I'm not saying anything too spicy here, plus some of you might agree so I don't expect anyone to comment. But what I said is out there. I didn't think it would spark such controversy. People got so emotional about it like I offended their great ancestors or something and completely missed my main point. I was just expressing an opinion. I added a lot of strong words and took some things out of context, but I will try to explain my main point I was trying to express again.

The point I was trying to make it that BTS in untraditionally popular. They had a different path to fame. I think BTS is one of those groups that really let their music and image speak for them. I observed (it's not factual at all) that it seems like I don't see them in Korea that often, compared to other popular groups. Yes, Big Hit is small and that's one reason. But it seems like BTS is so popular and their presence is everywhere. But at the same time, their presence is hiding and/or shown differently than other groups. I can't really put it in exact words. All I can say it untraditionally. And it seemed so obvious to me when you look at the way they are portrayed from a non-bias point of view, which is why I was so surprised when I got so much backlash.

Has anything like this ever happened before in Kpop where such a popular group is from a small company?

And I do admit I was blaming the fans for them being untraditionally popular. I think I realize it's more about the media and how the industry is set up to promote bigger companies groups. I am in no way devaluing Korean fans. They no doubt matter a lot. And international fans alone can't carry a group anyway. But it just seems like their presence is so strong overseas compared to other groups. And it could be a management decision or it could be that's what just ended up happening.

Again, didn't mean to provoke emotion. I'm a pretty logical person. I don't really like emotions being thrown into things. But my outsider opinion should not be taken too seriously. Afterall I'm just a person on the internet with little power to do much anyway.

Anyway, I love BTS and I would like to see them more in Korea. That's about all I was trying to say. Everything else was just filler words.

BTS Fighting!!
