"a lot of people think i'm a bad person or don't deserve to be in such a high rank like a soldier. sometimes i think they're right. i mean, i don't talk as much as many would like me to and i can surely be too serious for others, but... that's just... how i am. i don't do well with relationships and people always assume my whole being for how i act towards others, but... i really think i'm not all that bad? i read a lot to get smarter and expand my knowledge. i take time alone to gain more energy to get through the day, to feel more confident and determined with myself and what i do. my mother also says i'm reliable and a helpful person to those i care about. so... i just... i just don't understand how people can jump to conclusions the way they do with me. am i... that bad?"
BACKGROUND. being the son of a past general and a current healer, troy not only had a known presence in aequor, but he had a lot to carry on his shoulders. coming from a family that was already well known in the kingdom, especially within the royal family, troy was bound to be raised to continue the family legacy within the ranks of aequor. as a child, troy learned his way around aequor with the help of his mother, but was also raised to fight alongside his father. unlike past generations of his, troy had more of a difficult time in adapting to the same lifestyle as his father due to his interest in the world out of fighting, a reason why he enjoyed travelling aequor with his mother and a reason why he's so intrigued with the ocean. developing a love for the water and the freedom of being out of the soldier lifestyle, troy slowly became a very private and misunderstood person within the ranks. a lot of questions surrounded troy and his lifestyle, but it was presumed he was acting this way because his father had died in the hands of hajnal when troy was a young teenager still trying to fit into the mold of generals and soldiers.
now twenty-five, troy hasn't changed in terms of his quiet, yet intellectual demeanor. however, he has gotten used to the lifestyle his forefathers took up since a young age, but he slowly became more aware of how the schedule was like. during his off hours/days, you could find him in the ocean, happily swimming away or in the palace library reading up on medicine, magic and fighting tactics, taking after both his parents. but, even though he prefers alone time over being around others, which is evident in how he acts and reacts with company, he still manages to rise up in ranks, hoping to become a general like past generations. but will he trade in that freedom he craved for the harsh life of a general?
"son, you'll grow up to be a fantastic general. i assure you of that," his father patted him on the back, a smile becoming most evident in his tone.
but troy wasn't intrigued nor was he listening. he was more interested in how to make this so-called 'herbal tea' that's supposed to help reduce stress because, according to his mother, stress comes with age and he surely didn't want to be stressed like his mother.
"troy," his father questioned, pulling out a seat next to his son, looking at the book in his hand. his father chuckled, "has your mother told you about stress?"
troy looked at his father with practically no expression before looking back down, "i don't want that so-called stress, father."
"stress isn't something you can stop, son," his father let out a laugh before standing back up, picking up his sword and carrier from the library table. he quickly kissed his son's head before ruffling his hair, something that troy was always fond of as a child. troy's gaze quickly went up to his father, a smile finally showing. "i'll be back soon, okay? it's an urgent matter i need to attend. and don't worry, mother already knows i'm heading out as well."
"okay, father," troy quickly hugged his father before he left, but little did eleven year-old troy know that it was his last time with his father.
when his father died, of course a funeral was made for the well-known and loved general of aequor. but because troy was close with his father, with all their differences aside, he didn't attend the funeral. troy just sat in the library reading books upon books, but he was still dressed for the day, black clothes and all.
his mother was worried for her son as he just locked himself away in the library reading. many of the members in the palace and even citizens were flustered, thinking that the general's son wasn't in good terms or possibly was disgusted by his father as he didn't attend the funeral. but no one knew he was feeling guilt sweep his whole being and soul. he didn't properly say goodbye to his father nor did he say a deserved 'i love you' to him. he felt like his time with his father was short-lived, and troy hated knowing that he didn't spend and share enough father-son memories with the old man.
he felt guilty and, of course, upset over his father's death. what could he possibly do at that instance, with those feelings? read, of course.
"troy, sweetie, you need to get your nose out of those books."
the now eighteen year-old soldier looked up at his mother with a small chuckle. troy shook his head, "this book is too interesting to drop now."
his mother chuckled before walking up to him and pushing the book down onto the table. of course, troy grunted lowly at his mother. she looked at him, "i'm going to the sea for salt water. want to come?"
this was one of the few times troy was out since his father's death besides what his generals ordered him to do and going to the library. it was refreshing, though.
he looked at the sea as his mother was collecting salt water. troy let out a long breath of air before walking towards his mother, "mother, may i swim?"
his mother chuckled at his son, "no one's stopping you."
and that was the moment troy started to develop a strong interest and passion for the ocean since his father's death. he started to feel more free and at peace with himself, and he could've sworn he saw his father in the distance smiling at his son's newly founded interest as well.

aveline and troy were practically built to know each other since a young age as their families have a long history of friendship together. however, the two never spoke to each other until a few years ago when they ran into each other by the ocean. but, even so, they clicked almost automatically as they both share a love for being by the ocean and bottling up their emotions for the sake of others. aveline and troy are basically the same person, just different genders and different ranks in aequor.

AQUARIUS. this originated from, not only his zodiac sign, but his love for water and the ocean. however, this nickname isn't as common as the previous one as not many people out of the palace and healers know that he likes the ocean and swimming. / healers and people relating to the royal family/soldiers call him this as a joke. some citizens who reside near the ocean who see him and run into him call him this for fun, but it's not common.

troy isn't like what many perceive him to be. most of the time, people think that he's this brooding and hard-to-approach man that should be feared by many, someone that doesn't care about family or has any thoughts of even starting one. however, that's practically the opposite of how he is. every day troy has to live with people thinking he's some cruel and menacing figure because of the fact he rarely talks and doesn't show as much emotions towards people and things. that's how he lives his life day to day, and it's difficult for troy to do so.
however, he knows that the thoughts of others doesn't matter, a reason why he's able to walk the streets of aequor and maintain his status within the ranks.
he's a diligent person, waking up in the early hours of 5-6am in order to freshen up, eat breakfast and be the first few to train in order to have more time to himself in the evening hours. sometimes, however, if he wakes up earlier than 5, you can find him in the ocean swimming just for fun. the generals find this odd as he's typically the only person who's never in the palace proximities, but troy always says that it's "part of his training since i'm exercising in a place where i can also destress and calm my heavy heart". of course, this causes a lot of uncertainty with the generals and soldiers, but they know that he's being honest, thus why he's able to get away with it.
when training comes to an end, troy's always spending time to himself by the ocean or in the library, sometimes even with his mother learning to cook up some remedies and experiment with herbs. ever since his father's passing, he tries to spend more time with his mother as much as possible since he's learn that family should be a top priority, a reason why he's familiar with other healers.
