I've faced the fact that the previous generation of girl groups are slowly dispersing. Sistar, 2ne1, Wonder Girls, and 4minute all disbanded. SNSD and f(x) are nowhere to be found. Miss A is up in the air. These past couple of years have been tough. My bias list of girl groups has to be reevaluated. I have enjoyed the last 5+ years of great music that these groups have provided me. I will never forget how much their music and personalities affected me. But I have decided to turn over a new leaf and accept Kpop as it is now. And because I have no plans on leaving the fandom anytime soon, here's a few girl groups I am interested in and want to learn more about.

Also, HI!! It's been too long! I've been M.I.A. for a couple of months. I can do a life update if anyone cares :)

BlackPink

I'm not even surprised. Blackpink is exactly what I look for in a girl group. I'm not a fan of girly, cutesy concepts. I like groups that are talented and a little bit rebellious when it comes to style. I was a little skeptical of them at first just because Blackpink is a re-vamped 2ne1. But I understand that YG has to make money somehow. These girls are so talented and pretty that I'm not even hating. And they can dance!! I'm excited to see them grow as idols and as artists. I just hope YG gives them more opportunities than he gave 2ne1.

Mamamoo

I've always known that they existed and I always knew Solar and a few of their songs. But I've grown to love and respect them as singers and rappers. Once again they aren't your typical girl group. They don't look or sound like anything I've been in Kpop. 

Whether you're a fan of them or not, I think we can all agree that this song is dope!!

They have too many good songs to choose from!!

Exid

I am in love with Exid!!! I think their music will speak for itself. And Solji's voice is so unreal. I love her!! Exid is arguably my favorite "new" group. I love Hani too. She's so funny too ><

This is one of my favorite songs ever. I wish they would do another slower, darker concept like this.

Red Velvet

Because I'm severely SM biased, I'm not sure if they are perhaps one of the best girl groups out right now or if I'm being over dramatic. Once again I like how unconventional they are. It reminds me of f(x) and 4minute and why I liked those groups so much. I wish they were more popular than they are now. They totally deserve it. And also, I love Seulgi. She is literally my wifey!!

These girls can dance!! Them and blackpink have such interesting choreography. I love it!!

Twice

I was reluctant to put them on the list. I love their music, but in my opinion, it seems like JYP decided to throw a group of pretty girls together and give them catchy school girl songs to half sing. I just hope they can eventually move past this point where they feel like they can only pull off these kind of songs. I know they are a fairly new group, but I'm waiting for their "The Boys" or "Red Light" moment in their career. It's crazy to me that JYP can produce interesting music for Got7, but give these kinds of tracks to Twice. But their popular so I guess it's working. I just don't want Twice's concepts to wear out too quickly. 

Their debut song is by far my favorite song. I know the whole dance!! I need another song like this.

This my list for now. I'm always open to new groups. Suggestions are welcomed :)
