Going Through Withdrawal

I got a pretty minor surgery done on my foot Friday at 8am (today is Monday at 10pm for some prespective). I've been getting non-stop ingrown toenails on my right captain's toe for the past 3 years. It's been infected for 2 years or so. I couldn't afford the procedure (plus it was scary as ) so I just never did it. Finally this summer I was getting really fed up with my gross toe bleeding and being in pain and , plus I got better health insurance so I said it. Though I don't know if the procedure was 100% covered or if my mom just secretly paid for it. Anyways, so the doc numbed my toe (I was awake obv), removed a section of my toenail (all the way to the base), drained the puss, bandaged me up and I was on my way.

My toe was supposed to be numb for 8 hours following the procedure, but I got home around 30 minutes later and I was in pain. So I got my mom (she works there) to get the doctor to write me a script for some pain meds. But for the time being I only had extra strength Tylenol which wasn't doing jack . I had to drive myself to the pharmacy to pick it up which holy I almost died.

Let's stray from the story for a sec. Gina Marie, I love ya. You're a great car. But what the did I do to deserve this? My brakes suddenly stopped working just as I was approaching an intersection. I had to swerve onto the other side of the road, did some crazy- mission impossible, action movie to avoid all the cars as I got myself into a big parking lot so I can try to slow myself down. Emergency brake wasn't working, I was panicking. It was so ing scary. I put Gina in Neutral then drove into a curb to stop myself so I can put her in park. I took my prescription pain pills as soon as I got them, and those things kick in quick, like 10 min. So I'm behind Acme with my little brother in the parking lot. I'm in my PJs, I look like , I've got one shoe on. My other foot is covered in a GIANT bandage and we need a ride home. So I downloaded Lyft (btw here's a code for new users: SAM281127 you get $$ towards your first ride) and I got a ride home with Lyft.

I got home, made some burgers cause I was ing starving then I passed the out. And it was like 6pm. I slept until 10 or so, woke up, it was time for me to take more of the pain meds (2 every 4 hours). The pain meds (Codiene / Tylenol 3) made me SO SLEEPY. Legit, I got them around 5pm Friday, and by 3 pm Saturday I had slept for 16 hours. 16 ing hours. I couldn't operate. I felt like a zombie. Anytime I woke up, I'd pretty much just take more of the pain meds if it were time to do so, then go back to sleep. I couldn't stay up even if I wanted to. And I wasn't in ANY pain, so I was really keeping up on the medicine.

All of a sudden, Saturday at 3:30 or whatever, I noticed I only had 3 pills left. Doc only gave me 15. So , lemme preserve these. So I stopped taking them. Oh btw I had lots of side effects from this medicine, the sleepiness obviously, I had absolutely ZERO appetite, I was itchy all over (it wasn't that bad tho), and random dizzy spells (I just passed it off as being sleepy). So I stopped taking the medicine, last ones i took were like 3:30pm I think. So time passes, I'm struggling to stay awake, but I wanted to stay up.

See, the goal was to stay up until 9:30, then take the medicine and go to sleep. But I didn't even make it to 9:30... So 8:30 rolls around, I was eating some chips (still had no appetite at this point, so I was forcing myself to eat). Then decided to make a burger. In the middle of making the burger I started feeling really sick. And it was happening really fast too. I just felt so ill. So my little brother took over making the burgers and I just sat down and sipped on some water. I started feeling nauseous and I was like what the . My fingers started shaking, I didn't know what was going on. I started feeling like I was gonna throw up. I started googling Codiene, the prescription medicine I was taking. These are all signs of withdrawal.

the

Seriously? Withdrawal symptoms after not even 24 hours of being on the medication?! It was really sudden but I RAN to the bathroom and vomited up the chips I had eaten earlier. After that I started feeling a little better. I called my mom up, like what the I'm going through withdrawal symptoms?! I was still dizzy so I sent my dad to the store to get me bonine and extra strength tylenol cause I didn't want to take the codiene anymore.

Well ing extra strength tylenol doesn't do jack . I've been in so much pain since yesterday. It . I actually caved and took one codiene pill this morning because I was in so much pain I couldn't sleep. Today I was actually out of the house doing some stuff and my toe hurt so badly. All I wanted to do was crawl back into bed. It's still swelled up and I can't bend my toe. I don't know why I can't bend it, it's not because of pain. It's weird, I just can't bend it.

So I've been having a crazy weekend. And geez I didn't even write about my first real college party I went to last week. I made out with a chick, but that's a story for a different blog post. She wants to have a with me, so I'd like to write out the whole experience in one blog post.
