Frustrations

I've been feeling quite frustrated with my writing for a while. I know the reason, but I wasn't sure of how to put those feelings into words other than one word: lacking. I feel like my writing lacks an emotional quality to it. Looking at It Began With a Dance, I often wonder if my readers feel what the characters are feeling in that moment, or sometimes, if there is any emotional attachment at all between character and reader. All I think is, this is lacking, it's not something written deep, or good enough.

One day, I would like to be able to have books written, but I have doubts on well that will work out.

I don't necessarily feel a huge emotional attachment to your characters tbh ('cause the last chapter I read, they don't seem to be in any immediate danger or anything xD), but I do wonder what will happen to them next. I think you have a great way of making a reader there with the characters, like a spectator, and you describe scenes and action fairly well.

If you want to write more emotion into your work, then hmm I'd recommend thinking of any books/stories you've read that evoked an emotion in you and thinking of what did it...what caused you to empathize or to sympathize or whatever. And another thing that I think could help is connecting some sentences together to help the whole thing flow better. And re-reading things out loud or even getting another person to read it to you could help (not saying you don't do that already).

Hey it's alright. If it's truly getting to you maybe you should go PM some really good ff writers and ask for advice. Maybe that'll help? Or maybe make your friends read it and give you advice?
