PERSONALITY :　

▸ Chaeyeon is optimistic in the sense of seeing tomorrow and not thinking of the past as much. She would rather live her life instead of dwelling on the little things that majority of people find nagging. She takes opportunities and chances when can and weighs some of the risks factors depending on what those doors and paths would lead to. Chaeyeon is also strong-willed in meaning that she will move on with life and go forward with it even if there are some things that may still plague her mind every now and then. She could be stubborn in some aspects, but she's willing to do anything and everything for her best interest and child as long as it doesn't have dire consequences in the end. This leads her to be self-determined in choosing what she wants to do and how to live it whichever way she could. Of course there is one minor factor with this as she also has to think about her child's welfare, but that is merely an adjustment she can live with as Chaeyeon believes in her own feelings of what's right for her and Yeojin. I guess you can say that it's an intuitive thing that Chaeyeon may be aware of, but she hardly uses it unless it's a really strong gut feeling. She doesn't trust it as much only because of grandmother's incident and the outcome of her ex-boyfriend, but mainly because she would rather play it out and see if it still lingers, and if it does, then does she act upon it. When it doesn't cause such bad vibes, Chaeyeon let's it go until something else pops up to make her a little more aware of it. Usually the intuitive feeling happens to her when she knows she's becoming closer with another person or something to do that concerns her child and sister.

▸ Chaeyeon can come off as self-centered, but it's usually because she's independent now and free of her ex-boyfriend. It's not like she's egotistical, but she's selfish in the sense of doing things for her own self involving her own life and Yeojin's and the reason in a self-sufficient manner. She doesn't mean to make others feel inferior or bring their self-esteemed down as Harper knows the differences, but she doesn't realize that she does it at times. Maybe because of that, she comes off as a cold person at times. It's not like she means to, but she was never one to talk to people easily and comfortably, that was Chaewon's expertise. Sure she can make conversation, but hates it when she has to try to come up with something to talk about if the other party doesn't help with that. It seems like it makes her totally awkward from time to time. Don't get Chaeyeon wrong that she's not friendly, she just doesn't show her affections as normally like most girls do and it's always a level kind of response for her. Weird thing is that when it comes to showing affection for her daughter or the patients, it's a whole other story as they are innocent in their own right. Hmm, you could also say that makes Chaeyeon quite unpredictable at times, too. Like she can act one way or do something a certain way, but changes all of that later depending on her mood or whatever she's feeling at that moment. Sure it's not a great quality, but it's Chaeyeon's and she has to make due with it. This could cause Chaeyeon to have a questionable character as she is a bit doubtful from time to time. She's human and so she does hesitate when doing something, and sometimes wonders if all of this is for naught. She knows that life is not always certain, but wants to be optimistic about it, but life is ambiguous at time and she doesn't know for sure what will happen tomorrow.

▸ All in all, Chaeyeon has her good traits and bad traits. It's the same thing with her having her good days and her bad days. At the end of the day she's just human with a daughter to care for and just living her life to the fullest while she's able to and provide for Yeojin. She doesn't know what to expect or what the outcome will be, but she knows that she's living freely as much as possible and doing something she learned to enjoy thanks to her sister and child. Of course with Chaeyeon's past and issues with her parents and ex-boyfriend, she's not going to let them hinder her whatsoever. They already hindered her grandmother and so she's making sure they don't hinder her of the possible life of making it happen for both herself and for Yeojin. Chaeyeon lost a lot when her grandparents died, so she's not ready to lose more by dwelling on what could have been and not taking a different path towards her future. Chaeyeon doesn't want to live with more regrets than she already has and doesn't want to keep thinking of what she could have done if only she did this or that differently. So Chaeyeon keeps in mind the positive factors in her life and that she will make someone's day even if she has to suffer a bit to let them have their day.

BACKGROUND :

▸ Chaeyeon was born and raised in Seocho where she attended a French school with her sister, Chaewon. Her parents weren't around while growing up and she and her sister was primarily raised by their father's mother. Due to that, the sisters hold their grandmother dear to their heart while their parents were just people that helped pay for their schools and stuff. Their family situation became distant when the grandmother fell ill and it caused a rift within the family as their father wanted to send their grandmother to a nursing home to be care for as the parents were too busy with work while the children had school. The children couldn't do anything about it when their grandmother did finally went to a nursing home and the parents wouldn't allow them to visit her because she needed rests to be care for and other excuses. Several weeks later, Chaeyeon had this inkling feeling and wanted to visit her grandmother, but again another excuse was made, and later that day they received a call that she had passed. Chaeyeon was sixteen and blames her parents for not letting her and her sister see their grandmother before she left the world.

▸ Since that day, Chaeyeon became a bit rebellious and did whatever she wanted behind her parents back without their knowledge. Which somehow had her getting involved with an older man of seven years and had a relationship with him for a couple of years and thought she knew love and that he understood her and all that jazz. Eventually it was a lie when she found out that he was an already married man and she instantly cut all ties with the guy, but her parents found out and gave her lectures about having them lose face and what not. Since then they would control her whereabouts and always made her call them to check in and what not. Anyways, a couple years later she met another man while she was in medical school and they hit it off. Her parents even approved of the guy and she thought it was weird. Despite that, she continued her relationship with the guy even though he was now the one that kept control of her and her whereabouts in her parents' stead and she didn't appreciate that.

▸ One day she found herself pregnant with his child and thought that they could finally take it to the next level and that it would change his controlling behavior towards her. So when she told him, he told her to get rid of it. It was either him or the baby because he didn't want her attention to go towards the child and forget about him. Also, that would mean he had to sacrifice all that he had worked for to take care of a dumb kid that he never wanted. Of course, Chaeyeon chose the child and told him to get lost, but not before he had hit her. When she told her parents, they actually agreed with her ex and Chaeyeon lost the last respect she had for them and separated herself from them. She never understood their way of thinking or how they thought that the way he reacted was a good thing over their own child and future grandchild's well-being. Chaeyeon set out to live independently from them although they told her she would never be able to live on her own without crawling back to them and ask for forgiveness. She never did went back.

▸Chaewon moved out as well but she was still receiving support from the parents. Her sister would help out Chaeyeon when possible without her parents knowledge. The sisters didn't understand why they had children if they were going to act this way even after so many years. Anyways, Chaeyeon was able to finished her schooling although it took some time and was able to get a job as a caregiver at the same nursing home her grandmother stayed at while still caring for her daughter at the same time. Of course, Chaeyeon and Jaeshin, her boyfriend, helped out when Chaeyeon needed it. But when her hours and uncertain days at work changed she needed to find a day care to watch her daughter since Chaewon opened up her popbar shop and needed to put her focus on to that and Jaeshin became more busy at work with loads of paperwork and reports. And of course, she wouldn't bother her parents to care for a grandchild they never ask about.

▸ personal space invaders [lol, basically people who don't know how to respect people's personal bubbles, makes an exception to her family and Jaeshin, and eventually to Hoseok]

▸ messy people [ofc she's messy herself and Yeojin is by default messy, but that doesn't mean she doesn't know how to clean up after herself and her daughter]
▸ heat [if it gets too hot, she becomes itchy and uncomfortable, also feels uncomfortable if someone else's body heat is too warm for her to be next to, but tolerates it to not be mean about it although she forgets and would mention it]
▸ insects [can't stand them or the thought of them, if she sees one she will not hesitate to smash that little guy repeatedly even though it's dead]

▸ rubs her thumb against her forefinger and middle finger when nervous, anxious, or thinking of something

▸ Sister — Lim Chaewon (24) / Popbar Owner "Bubble Pop" / Meticulous, Carefree, Mischievous, Lazy / Super Close
While super close to others they seem like they're always fighting and don't like each other. It's because of the way they talk to one another. It's indifferent and usually in a tone like they don't care for one another, but will actually do something for the other and what not. Chaewon usually acts like the older one as she is more mature and not as childish as her sister, plus she looks older compare to Chaeyeon who looks younger. Chaeyeon usually (well it's more like always) gives in to whatever Chaewon wants and needs. Also, Chaewon visits her sister a lot only because she wants to see her niece, not her sister. Chaeyeon knows this as Chawon doesn't hide that fact, but doesn't really care about it as she would have done the same thing. Anyways, people would think that Yeojin is Chaewon's daughter and the girls don't correct them, it's Yeojin who does that.

▸ Daughter — Lim Yeojin (2) / Toddler / Shy, Active, Sassy, Playful / extra super close
Yeojin clings to Chaeyeon like a koala to a tree. Loves her mama to bits and Chaeyeon loves her daughter just as much. Loves being tickle by her mother and always wants her mom to play with her. Will ignore her mother if her aunt and uncle is around when she doesn't get her way with Chaeyeon. Will also ignore her mother if she sees a handsome man as well. Chaeyeon believes she got those traits from her father, but won't say much of anything else about it. Anyways, Yeojin smiles the brightest whenever she sees Chaeyeon and Chaeyeon's long day at work or tiredness due to work and others wash away whenever she has her little girl in her arms.

▸ Sister's Boyfriend/Good Friend — Ahn Jaeshin (24) / Office Worker / Funny, Talkative, Cool, Messy / Quite Close
Teases her and Chaewon's relationship from time to time. Is a great stand-in for anything manly related like helping with lifting heavy stuff or scaring off unwanted male attention or just simply needing a babysitter from time to time. Actually takes real good care of Yeojin and Yeojin enjoys his company a lot whenever her mother and aunt are busy with their work. Acts like the little brother Chaeyeon never had, but can tell one day he'll eventually become her little brother in the future with the way he and her sister are. Also, Chaeyeon won't deny the one good male influence in her daughter's life which Jaeshin does a darn good job of doing that.

▸ Friendly Acquaintances — Lee Jooyui (22) / Cafe Owner / Honest, Blunt, Observent, Awkward / not that close, just familiar strangers of sorts
Jooyui's cafe is near Chaeyeon's sister popbar shop. Whenever Chaeyeon visits Bubble Pop, she also stops by Sweet Heaven to grab some things for herself and her sister who has a real sweet tooth. Chaeyeon doesn't realize that Jooyui also helps her husband run the daycare center, and just assumes she's a nice woman with an adorable son whom she quickly notices and strikes up conversation based on the fact that they both have children.

CHARACTER's JOB :　Caregiver for the elderly at a nursing home, Seoul Home and Care

WORK STYLE :

▸ Chaeyeon's schedule used to be very convenient for herself and her daughter. That was until two other caregivers quit which left her and the other staffs to split the days and shifts that varied every other day until replacements could be hired to ease the workload. Until then, it's never the same. In one day she can care for as many as ten residents, the next day maybe just four and those four were the ones that had special needs. Like on certain days she can be helping Mr. Choi to feed himself to administrating medications to Mrs. Kang or help transition a new resident into the nursing home. Every day may be different and the care she provides will go about differently as well, but in the end she's still one of the few staff to care for the residents who have no one else to look after them.

▸ Chaeyeon now works a twelve hour shift starting at 6 in the morning to 6 in the evening with two twenty minutes breaks and one hour and a half lunch break in between. During those short breaks she makes use of it to call and check up on her daughter to see how it's going and using her lunch hour to actually visit Yeojin. Although it can be quite rough, hectic, and unpredictible as each resident is different, the care she provides them is still the same. She enjoys talking to them and listening to them whenever they talk while she goes about in handling their daily routine. Chaeyeon becomes a listening ear to their rants and talks because they have no one else to listen to them or talk to as most of their family don't visit often and not all the caregivers are as nice as she is to spare a moment of their time. She enjoys her job and it pays well, but some days are just hard to handle, especially if an unfortunate death occurs.

▸ Yeojin is normally shy and unresponsive around new people, but she has a tendency to be bias towards males and Chaeyeon doesn't know why exactly. This means that she'll let a male hold her without fussing while if it's a female that isn't her mother or aunt, then she'll try to wriggle herself out of that female's hold or tries to lean towards a male that is close by. Anyways, Yeojin only reacts and becomes playful and interactive to those she likes and knows very well. If she doesn't know you then she'll just stare at you and stay quiet. Even if that person tries to interact with her or engage her with toys and such, she'll just ignore them and look away. But once that person is like out of sight does Yeojin have a smile on her face, plays with the toy given to her, and waves goodbye at the person's back like she just didn't give them the cold shoulder a second ago. With children it's a different story as she's quite active with others her age, younger, and older. Adults, it honestly varies with each person and how often she sees them and interacts with them on a daily basis. Other than that, Yeojin is your normal two year old that seeks adventures and explores at her own expense and will only come bother you if she really likes you and wants to share with you.

▸ Can understand what you say to her, but still replies with "no" regardless the question isn't a yes/no kind of answer. Unless if you're asking her to give you back something, then she says "no" and walks away with it.

▸ Is lactose and intolerant, so only drinks soy and almond milk because milk is unavailable for her (LOL).

▸ Will start off sleeping on her back, but she'll eventually move around and off to the side to sleep on her stomach and with her in the air.

▸ Becomes quite fussy, a little grumpy, and pulls at her own hair which means it's nearing nap time. Knocks out instantly.

▸ When awoke from her nap, she just lies there and stares like she has no idea who you are, but will eventually snap out of it a minute later.

▸ Will dance every time music comes on. If she really likes the beat or song, she'll shake her booty and bop her head to the beat with her hands in the air. Sometimes she'll sing along to it as well.

▸ When eating, she'll pick up some of her food and will try to feed you, too, even if you shake your head 'no'.

▸ Loves going outside and will get down and dirty.

▸ Loves climbing things, is a fearless daredevil, until she gets hurt and avoids the item of what had caused her pain. Later returns to it as if it never done her any harm.

▸ Loves animals, love 'walking' Jaeshin's chihuahua, Snoopy.

▸ For fun, she'll repeat what you say until she just grows bore and do something else.

▸ Loves taking photos and videos, especially if she can see herself while doing so. Will often say "see" when she wants to view the image or video that has been taken.

▸ She walks and runs funny and it's quite adorable. It's because she's flat-footed. When she walks though, she basically speeds walk.

▸ Rarely cries, but when she does she only cries for a little bit or when she's hungry or someone scolds her.

▸ Doesn't really throw a tantrum, but will silently glare at you with her arms folded over her chest with an angry pout.

▸ When put into time out she'll have a sad face, but stays put because she knows she's in trouble. She will later escape when the person isn't looking though.

LAST WORDS :　Hello. This one I actually finished applying for because of the deadline, and it was kind of easy creating a character, or two. LOL Also, I was going to add in two children, but figured that it would be easier with one child with the way this whole thing turned out and waht not, but anyways, I based Yeojin off of my own niece who I babysit a few times and mang she is a handful, but luckily she isn't that much of a troublemaker. I hope Chaeyeon is alright, and if anything please do let me know about any revisions to be made to her character. Major good luck writing out the story and choosing your characters!! =]
