> minjae looks exactly just like his face claim, only minjae's slightly tanner and his body a bit more bigger, not that too much thin. minjae was also born with natural hazel brown eyes (a pair of slightly poor eyesight to be exact) and strings of wavy black hair. although recently, he tints it to different colors due to the company's request.
STYLE:
> minjae isn't really the fashionable kind. his personal clothes are only limited to printed or plain colored (esp maroon) t-shirts and denim jeans. he only knows one brand of shoes and that's converse. he searches in the internet for the latest trends or asks his stylist for her advice about his airport fashion but often really follows it. only recently, minjae started collecting hats, caps and stylish sunglasses (his harry potter glasses is his most favorite). he had also become a fan of jackets and white shirts. to put it simply, minjae's style is just like any typical guys out there.

(+) - in everywhere I go, I'm okay. ever since he was young, minjae has already been a child full of dreams. he is very diligent when it comes to pursuing his dreams and has the 'never die' spirit. along with this ability, minjae is also the type of a kid who likes trying new things. and despite having a bad health condition, minjae lifted up his own body and conquered adventures with the support and guidance from his parents and friends. in exchange to his freedom, minjae promised his parents to be compliant of their requests. he practiced obedience to them that he brought it with him until her grew up. today, even to his friends and members, minjae takes it hard to refuse requests from them. he is also known for being a top student in his class and he's proud of himself for this achievement.
(?) - there's a million reason to smile. maybe because he is an only child that's why minjae longs for some friends. he is usually the type to approach people first, to introduce himself and to be friends with them. he always likes stretching out his hand towards his fellow even if they don't look interested in him. he's very polite whenever he talks to people whether that person is someone he knows or a stranger. he is also a firm decision-maker. his head is very clear that he often has dilemmas. if ever he gains options, he would weigh which choice is more beneficial to him. he likes smiling too, he never let a day without smiling and sharing his witty humors. he plays around the most and likes cracking witty word plays and acrostics poems.
(-) - I'm just being me, sorry not sorry. the problem with minjae is that he's quite persistent when it comes to his ideas. he would defend whatever it is that he thinks is right and would not let others debunk him; the only reason why he always gets into misunderstandings with s. theoretically, it must be because he grew up slightly spoiled from his parents and maybe because he's always the top student that's why he's not afraid to speak out his ideas. on the other side, minjae is a procrastinator. especially when he really don't feel like doing anything. he likes procrsastinating especially when he finds the day good for leisure and mishievousness. sometimes, even s find him very annoying already.
BACKGROUND:
> 1995 - chae soohyun and han minhee had minjae a year after their marriage. they really thought that they wouldn't have a child after receiving a news from the doctor that the possibility of minhee conceiving is low. fortunately, GOD sided with them in that small possibility and still gifted them an only child. the couple were very happy minjae was born that they spoiled him his entire life. however, another problem struck them surprise when minjae had started catching deep breathes in the midst of playing with his friends. it was when the family knew of his asthma condition. since then, minjae was suggested to stay inside their house during weekends, reading and studying instead. also, his doctor proposed a proper diet and exercise that he obediently followed for him to be immuned.
> 2007 - minjae rejoiced when the doctor finally allowed him to study in a school beyond the four walls of their house, but only with the condition that he would be extra careful not to get too tired. his parents enrolled him in a public middle school after years of homeschooling and medications. apparently, he became a member of a school club where bts' jung hoseok was his senior. with hoseok's accompaniment, minjae finally realized his ultimate ambition. and that is to perform on stage. he saw how hoseok worked hard just to fulfill his dreams and thus, was encouraged to be one as well. you might say that j-hope was (and still) his role model.
> 2010 - in 2009, minjae's father was promoted and assigned to the main office of his company in seoul. because of this, their family had to migrate to a new place in seoul after his middle school graduation. together with this is the good news his doctor had brought them. he told them that minjae's body had improved and was finally immuned to fight his asthma. since then, his parents finally gave him enough freedom to enjoy his teenage-hood. including, of course, enrolling in a dance academy where j-hope still was studying. there he met a lot of aspiring dancers and performers. for his formal schooling, minjae made it to the seoul school of performing arts.
> 2012 - it was in 2012 when minjae was scouted during an open screening held in sopa by the school for the producers. his song entry was his own written rap in a chris brown tune. at first he thought he was only being scammed until the company invited him to sm entertainment. he gave it a shot and asked assistance from one of his friends, just in case. there, he confirmed that the scout was indeed for real about him. minjae was so overwhelmed. he did not expect to be scouted by one of the biggest companies in south korea. he told his parents about this news and earned a look from them. they thought he was only attending these performing schools and academies because he only wants to meet friends while doing some fun, but they did not really view him as a professional singer. the only thing that got them into saying yes was when minjae talked to them about it. he said it is what he had always wanted to try. with a sigh, his parents gave their half-heartedly approval, and minjae promised himself to show them his passion and to get their hundred percent support sooner.
> present - now, minjae lives with the other members in the dorm assigned to them by the company. he goes home once a week to pay his parents a visit. after all, their house is just one bus away from their dorm.

> 2012 - the first time he stepped a foot on sm entertainment's parking lot, minjae already felt the pressure in getting in. he knew very well that the company that casted him is not an easy company. he just kept reminding himself that he was just lucky he had an opportunity to show them his talent. the company was undecided of him at first so he had to pass through two more screenings after the initial audition. only he became an official trainee when he submitted a demo of his own written song with the help of his friend, seungcheol.
> 2013-debut - minjae started training in october of 2012. at first, he had a hard time adjusting because everyone in his training class were all great and nobody wanted to be inferior of anyone. apparently, he met a few that still believes in having fun while training. but his favorite fellow trainee is the person who was always with him before, red velvet's joy. at least she made it less stressful for him whenever they joke around with one another. and so, he spent his training period with a certain routine; home > school > practice for hours > home, and repeat. during weekends he would visit his parents but would go back soonest to train for hours again.

BACKGROUND:
> at the beginning with you. he met seunghee by accident. it was during one of his classmates' birthday party where he and seungcheol were invited as well. apparently, that classmate of him was seunghee's cousin. it was that cousin that introduced them together. they spent the whole night talking about being trainees and how hard it was for them. they also exchanged smart jokes that neither wanted to lose to. since then, minjae had a crush on her. unfortunately, he was not able to ask for her number when the party ended. in the end, it was his classmate who gave him her number.
> oh romeo, my romeo. seunghee thought that minjae was just a stranger who got the wrong number and so she ignored his text message the first time he sent it. when he got impatient waiting for her reply, minjae directly called her phone. and when she answered, minjae confessed about his sneaky actions. he told her where he got her number and eventually, they become text mates and call buddies.
> now and forever. his feelings for her grew up from being just a simple admiration to romantic feelings as time passed by. among the people around him, it is seunghee who understands him the most and he likes that. once he called her out to meet in a cafe and there, he confessed what it was that kept bothering him. he told her he couldn't stop thinking about her and that he likes her already. seunghee took it happily and admitted that she also has a crush on him.

> I just wanna clarify a thing about his asthma in case you find it impossible. you see, I was inspired by my younger sister who used to have an asthma when we were young. she really couldn't get out of the house because of it. but a few years back her doctor told my mom to let her play and be exercised to be immuned. apparently her doctor's right and now she's very fine. she can even travel whenever she wanted and her asthma attacks never came back (and I hope it never will). so it practically happened in real life.
