me, me, and me. 

style — comfortable with only a white shirt and a pair of jeans, minjae likes keeping his style simple and easy-to-wear. since he likes going to places, he's usually fine slipping in his denim ripped jeans, his t-shirt, a pair of converse shoes and a jacket for cover up. however, he is obsessed with hoodies and snapbacks. according to him, those keep him warm  and cozy. also, he feels like he's unidentified while wearing those type of accessories.

+ // I need peace - majority thinks that no man is an island. social life is very important and if you always don't have a friend, you are either depressed or a weirdo. however, minjae doesn't really care being alone. he believes that sometimes (or most of the time) people need to be with themselves to think about things. after all, he is used to being just by himself. however, everything (slightly) changed when he met the group. today, he is still the quiet one but unlike before he already enjoys his friends' accompaniment. he is still the type of a peron who listens more than speak but when his friends need somebody to talk to, he's always there for them.
+ // let me handle this - minjae is a capable young man, and by it means, he knows how things (especially mechanical stuffs) were made and how to do it by himself. you can depend on him when it comes to fixing stuff and it's not that he enjoys it, he just adapted to it after a lot of helping with his dad in the house. his curiosity to things actually was what made him smart. 
+ // to err is human, so am I - life is not always perfect, minjae knows it. people makes mistake including himself, and so, minjae learned how to be forgiving with other people. from one small mistake to another, minjae can comply to a simple apology which becomes his weakness. he doesn't even know why but he has a soft spot for apologies. maybe because the words I'm sorry takes a serious lot of courage to say.

- // to do or not to do? - ever since he was young, minjae already has this pessimistic attitude. he always wonders about things that need not to think so hard about. he feels shy in expressing his thoughts and then gets scared that people might misunderstand his opinion. minjae is also afraid of responsibilities. he thinks that having a responsibility means expectations from people, and if there was something he wanted to do the least, it would be to disappoint those who are around him. 
- // oh...so that's how you feel - being young means being carefree, and minjae being young means being naive. you see, minjae isn't the type to care about things around him. he wouldn't know what it is that you feel unless you tell him verbally. and he wouldn't really know what is that you want him to know unless you oblige him to. 
- // what for? / why would I? - what would I get if I do those? what for if I do this? minjae is the type of a person who does things for himself. he got used to it. and so, he doesn't usually do others favors. maybe because he is afraid that he might do the favor wrong, that's why. moreover, it is important for him to think of the benefits he could get first before complying to their requests. sadly, minjae is like this even to his best friends.

// he used to have a crush during high shool, but it ended soon after knowing that the girl has a boyfriend. he was so broken hearted that ever since then, he avoided falling in love. 
// the very first person he met in the peers was kiyoun, and he sort of likes hanging out with her than her brother, jaesung.
// he is also very close with "running plotline character" since they're the youngest with the same hobby of wandering (running) around.

background
1997 — born as the youngest child of an engineer in gwangju, han minjae was expected to be just like his father. he carried the burden of being the only son ever since birth. apparently, minjae was a calm baby before. he doesn't usually cry and so his parents thought he would be a strong great man someday. he's a brilliant child that learned his first alphabet at the age of 3 and his numbers at 4. truly, he proved himself to his parents by topping the class in elementary school. however, everything changed years later.

childhood — when he was 12, minjae and his family moved to seoul with the hope of a better life. they lived in a decent apartment in gangnam where he was once again induced to study. apparently, minjae was enrolled in a good public school and there, he spent his childhood both diligently and carelessly. how? simple. he studies whenever he's at home or when his parents are watching but then spends the time reading comics at the school rooftop during recess or playing in an arcade near the campus after school. he really made a seperate life for himself ever since he realized he can.

present — not wanting to be called the 'black sheep' in the family, minjae tried his best to follow his parents' will. he studied in a private high school and took courses that will help in his college specs. however, he was not happy with it. he might not yet know his dreams but if there's one thing he's sure about, that is not engineering. the pressure only clouded minjae's thoughts even more. he felt responsible after witnessing his sister's achievement when she graduated architecture, but instead of inspiring minjae, it led him to question more about his future. he tried to lay out plans for himself but he really couldn't decide which path to choose. he just couldn't see what he should be 5 to 10 years from now. inside of him he knew that he'd like to enjoy his youth first until he's tired of being young. today, he wanders around the city with the hope of finally finding his ultimate interest, that one thing he'd be really passionate about. for now, he's sure that he would like to keep wandering around, to know more about himself, and about life. 

what does the word youth mean to you? — "youth, for me, is the most beautiful part of your life. in this stage you unconsciously showed sides that you didn't know you had in you. uhmm...bravery for waking up everyday just to struggle with things in school. uhh...passion for doing what you love the most. certainly a thing I am yet to experience. and love, may not be the romantic love, but compassion. the love for your friends. the love for your brothers. but youth, youth is also the stage where you could be lost. you have to be lost in order to learn. take myself for example. honestly, I am not yet ready to step out of my youth. if possible I'd like to spend my youth carelessly without thinking about the future. I'd like to do it until I find the right path for me. I feel like I have to."

how did you meet the others? — "ahn kiyoun found me one rainy night infront of a store, freezing and by myself. she lent me an umbrella and talked to me for a while. it was the day I fought major with my father about my school and so I really needed somebody to talk to, and that time I was sure that it was not my mom or my sister. I had no friends since I don't usually talk with my classmates. eventually, she introduced me to her brother, jaesung hyung and to the others. it was not an easy friendship. we did not get along as soon as we meet, it took a long time before we opened up with each other. but when everyone was ready...when I was ready, we surely got the perfect recipe. ever since then, I broke the rules at home and chose them to be my friends, and I do not regret it. we understand each other, they know and they feel me. each one of us has different experiences and I am sure that mine is the least deepest. however, I promise these guys that I will be there for them, they used to be strangers but now, they're my family. I learned to love them and I will do everything to protect each one of them."

family — 

▪ han dongjae | father | afraid of him, minjae isn't really fond with his father. he finds his disciplinarian personality very scary and tiresome. they only talk when the agenda is about the family but other than that, he doesn't really chitchat with him. honestly speaking, mr han intimidates minjae a lot. 

▪ oh minhee | mother |  compared to his father, minjae is somehow closer to his mom. he tells her whenever he needs something, whenever he's hungry or whenever he's going somewhere. but other than that, minjae keeps his life outside the house to himself. only she's different because she always tries to make him open up to her. always.

▪ han donghee | older sister | just like any ordinary siblings out there, minjae hates his sister. she's very talkative for his likings and she's very annoying. she has her own peers, he has his own, and that makes them very different. her friends are all smart geeky people, while him, a group of cool underground people. she thinks she knows all about him but he just scoffs at her every time she tries to tell him. they always fight, obviously.

friends — 

▪ "running" plotline character | best friend | it's the puberty that makes minjae more comfortable to talk about things with this friends than to his own family. this guy is his most favorite guy among the others. they're both the youngest and so they think alike. he wasn't even the first person minjae had met but he was the very first to make minjae open up his thoughts. he was the one to teach minjae how to run; from problems and from life. 

▪ ahn kiyoun | best friend | she's the very reason he got into the group. she was the most approachable person he had ever met and the sweetest. she was very easy to talk to and if he's feeling lost about his decisions, she was always there to give him pieces of advice on what to do. he was even closer to her than his own blood-related sister.

I mean, my parents decided for my career path and I am fine with it, I am enjoying it now, it's just that, I don't know what I want  for myself.
