Chapter 3. Shopping Time!

The Lion's Pride

Melody a soft turquoise colored blanket longingly. She looked at her full cart and shook her head ruefully. She hadn’t realized just how much they needed to get. It had been a long time since she had needed to shop for a home from scratch, and now it included three others besides her.

Hearing Yhinny calling for her from the aisle with bathroom items she caressed the blanket one last time before setting it down to go find out little sister needed.

A moment later the same blanket was picked up by a much larger hand.

“She really seemed to like this.” The person said thoughtfully as they started to walk to the register. They stopped when they saw a pillow in the same type of fabric and color.

A wide smile crossed their face as they grabbed the pillow also.

“She will be so surprised.”

“Unni feel.” Yhinny said holding up a pretty towel in a heliotrope color. Touching it Melody bit back a moan causing Doojoon to look at her oddly.

She shrugged and smiled sheepishly at him. “I love soft things.”

“Do you think we can get these in our colors Unni?” Yhinny asked bringing her attention back to the matter at hand.

It only took Melody a moment to get the assorted towels in black for Trina, and a lovely sky blue for herself. Placing them in the cart along with Yhinny’s purple ones, she tapped her chin thoughtfully looking at the rest of the colors.

“Yhinny can you go ask Summer what color she wants?” When Yhin nodded and scampered off, Melody answered Doojoon’s unasked question.

“Summer has two favorite colors, pink and yellow, like her hair.” She smiled with fondness thinking of cheerful girl.

Doojoon nodded in understanding. Surprisingly he was enjoying himself and when Summer came bouncing up with her bubbly laugh he couldn’t help but smile. Yhinny followed close behind her fiddling with something.

There was something about the teenager that he couldn’t help but be intrigued by and her bright green eyes were always twinkling.

He watched her chew on her lip as she looked back and forth between the deep rose pink, and bright yellow.

Clearing his throat he tilted his head towards the yellow one when Melody and Summer looked at him.

“It suits you. It is bright like the sun, cheerful like you.”

Summer raised startled eyes to look at Doojoon and then quickly lowered them when he met them smiling. Nodding to Melody she said she would like the yellow.

Melody looked at the full cart and smiled ruefully. “Looks like we need the other one. Did you see where Trina got off to?”
Yhinny pointed to the left. “She’s over there in the kitchen section with Eunkwang.”

The three girls chatted as they headed over with Doojoon trailing behind listening.

They found Eunkwang and Trina staring at rice cookers with such seriousness that Melody asked what was wrong.

“Nothing Unni, just trying to figure out which one to get. I was looking at the Hello Kitty one but I was thinking it might not seem…um…” her voice trailed off hesitantly.

“Grown up?” Melody asked with a small laugh.

“If you girls like it we can get it. We can do the whole kitchen in Hello Kitty if you want.”

Summer’s eyes lit up and Yhinny clapped her hands. “Really Unni?”

At her nod Trina scoped up the rice cooker. Slyly she pointed to the left where there was a Hello Kitty toaster and slow cooker.

Melody laughed as the other girls went to get them.

Eunkwang vanished only to reappear with a set of matching dish clothes and dish towels in the Hello Kitty design.

“Ohh! You were in on this weren’t you?” she said with a grin as she swatted at his backside when he went past.

He appeared the picture of innocence as he walked by. “Of course not noona.”

“Mhm. Sure.” Seeing Trina put something in the cart she looked at it curiously.

“It’s a joke for Ken Oppa.” Trina said with a grin.

Melody smiled, although Eunkwang saw it didn’t quite reach her eyes.

Leaving the girls to look at the music Melody went in search of Rain.

Finding him looking at women’s scarves she looked around to make sure no one was looking and quickly slipped her arms around his waist from behind.

When he turned she smiled and pulled away.

“For someone special?” she asked indicating the pretty floral scarf in his hand.

“I’m taking Angel to dinner on Saturday.”

Melody grinned, she had heard about the date from Angel last night and she was very excited for her friends.

Even while she was happy for them part of her couldn’t help but ache with missing Taekwoon.

It was then that she saw something out of the corner of her eye, it would be the perfect little gift to send him…
