The sound of the basketball bouncing off the floor echoed across the gym. Kris crouched low, dribbling the ball in one hand. 

Suddenly, he dashed forward, dribbling past an invisible defender and twisted around ending up by the three point line. He squared up and took a shot. 

The ball flew through the air and swished. 

Panting, he left the ball and went to the bench to get some water. He wiped the sweat off his face with a towel and picked up his phone, 8:21 it read. He sighed. He's been here 3 hours already.

"8:30," he though, "I'll leave by then," 

That being decided, he got up to go retrieve his ball.

He'd only taken a few shots when the ground started to shake. He looked around in shock.

The tremors continued, growing stronger and stronger. Soon, all Kris could focus on was staying on his feet. That didn't last too long. 

He ended up slipping and crashed onto the ground. He landed on his back hard and hit his head. He tried to get up again but now, he was a little dizzy and the shaking ground didn't help that fact. 

In the end, he made it back onto his hands and feet and tried to get to the door. What was happening? 

A loud groan echoed across the gym, followed by a thunderous boom. Kris looked back in shock to see a basketball net crash onto the floor. 

Another groan sounded from above him as well and he looked up to see the basketball net he had been shooting on was about to fall
