Luhan's POV

A loud knocking sound on the front door woke me up. I rolled out of bed and put on the first shirt I saw, just in case it was someone important. I opened the door, even though I hadn't asked who it was. For all I knew, there could be a murderer standing outside, but thankfully, there wasn't. A short, brown haired guy was standing awkwardly at the door. "Good morning," he said.

I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes to get a better look at his face. "Xiumin." I smiled. So he didn't hate me. "Come on in." Xiumin walked into the apartment and looked around awkwardly. For the first time that month, I noticed all of the empty chip bags and candy wrappers all over the floor. "Welcome to my, uh, house." I kicked aside some trash and led him to the couch.

"Luhan," he said, "do your parents need help cleaning? I could use a job-"

I shook my head. "My parents are on a month long business trip. They'll be home by the time school starts up again." I sat down on a chair next to him. "What's up?"

"Can I help you clean?" He picked up an empty bag. "Please? It's really uncomfortable."

So he was a neat freak. I watched for a few seconds as he picked up trash from the floor. It was extremely embarrassing to watch him kneeling on the floor gathering trash in his hand. I reached down in an attempt to help him but ended up colliding with his hand. Xiumin's eyes widened, and he pulled his hand away. "Sorry," he mumbled. I couldn't help but smile a little too wide.

It didn't take long to clean everything up, and Xiumin had even insisted on making my bed, which resulted in me standing awkwardly behind him as he fluffed up my pillows. "There," he said, smoothing the sheets. "It doesn't take too long to clean up."

He lifted his arms up and stretched as if he had just woken up. "Cute," I whispered.

"Huh?"

"Nothing. Do you wanna watch some TV?" I turned out of my bedroom and into the hallway.

"No. I wanna talk with you." Xiumin said as he followed me to the couch and showed off a gummy smile. "So, what do you like to do?" He asked it as if he was reading off of a script.

I sat down near him. "Well, I like to play soccer and-"

At the word soccer, he jumped up. "I like soccer, too! Can we please play? I haven't played in so long."

I nodded. We talked for a while, mostly just about what we liked to do. It turned out that we both had a lot in common. We both liked to play soccer, for one, and we both liked to read. "You should join the dance club. Dancing is kinda like soccer...only without the ball and you're told exactly what to do." He didn't understand how dancing and soccer were similar, but he said he would try anyways. 

Just when I thought he was all tired out, he reached a hand up to my face. "Um, what are you—?" Cold fingers brushed my cheek, sending shivers down my spine.

"I—I wish I was like this..." he mumbled.

"Like what?" I asked.

"Like a prince. Tall, thin... I want to have your body."

I blushed so hard that I thought I might start a fire. That last sentence had me thinking things that I definitely should not have been thinking at the moment. I crossed one leg over the other awkwardly and nodded. "Thanks, I guess."

"No, really!" He turned towards me and leaned in a little. "I really wish I looked like you all over the place. You're really handsome."

I decided to be completely honest. "You're making me blush."

"That's cute." He laughed a little.

I knelt on the couch so that we were face to face. "That was cute, too."

Xiumin looked down after our eyes made contact. Maybe I made him feel nervous. Lu, you shouldn't have said anything, I snapped at myself.

But he still managed to say, "Thank you, Luhan."

I smiled and wondered if I should go any farther. That's enough for one day. You just met the kid, I thought. "No problem." I resisted the urge to tell him everything I had been thinking since yesterday.

We sat in awkward silence for a while. He fidgeted with his shirt for a little while. It seemed to me, from the times that I had seen him, that none of his clothes fit him well. It was either too big or too small. "Well," I continued, "do you know about the picnic at school?"

Xiumin looked up. "Huh?" He cocked his head to the side like a puppy.

"Every year, our school has a picnic at the beginning of the year. It's actually tomorrow."

He nodded slowly. "Oh. Are you going?" I nodded. "Is Chen going?"

I sighed. I couldn't help but feel slightly jealous of Chen and Xiumin's instant friendship. "Yeah, he's gonna be there. He even told me about it."

Xiumin nodded again. "I'll go, then." I gave him the time and he wrote it down on a piece of paper from his pocket. "Thanks, Luhan." He started to stand up and my jaw dropped. Was he really going to leave me now? "My mother is probably waiting for me, so I should go now."

So he was leaving. "I'll walk you down." I was desperate for any extra seconds I could have with him.
