 ZE REALM < FOREVER UPDATING > : //

FAE  ☆ fae were shaped to be diminutive humanoids plucked from the fiction of romanticism in the victorian era, pawn pieces for children's 'fairy tales' and winged sprites solely to occur in picture books. however children were never told how fae came to be, where they descended from or how they were entities that lived and breathed like them. it is said that fae hail from the pastures of ireland where they originally prevailed as a common character, before humans took over the land with their kingship and wars and drove them into hiding. they had minor magicks sure, but it wasn't enough to compete with human's diabolical weaponry, tactics and hunger for triumph. without making use of their magicks the fae grew smaller and smaller, about five inches tall and irritated that the humans had stolen their homestead. out of vengeance and ill intention the fae used their tiny size to sneak around the humans and toy with their lives, knocking over items of value, pricking their thumbs with thorns and even going as far as grouping together to haul out infant children. their mischief and pranking went on for centuries until warfare started to thin out their numbers, the king of the original fairy clan seeking out the help of a witch to restore his fallen children. the witch made it so that fae can burst free from their small stature and live within the skins of humans posing as humans, and gain back their independence so long as they do not bother another soul. with wings and vibrantly colored eyes cloaked from the public eye, fae have lasted into this modern day world, hiding amongst humans as they always have. but that doesn't mean they aren't up to their old tricks of fooling about with people's sanity. there are three classes of these creatures: fairies being the less harmful and more impish, elves being the male counterpart of fairies that are vastly more sinister and cause illness and disease within humans if they will it, and nymphs whom break the cloaking barrier to take on the form of the elements, taking safety within trees, water, earth and light.

LIFESPAN & DEATH fae have existed through many battles and continue to prove to be a breed that withstands all discord, and the eldest fairy has lived to be six hundred years old. however many don't live to see that far into their lives as they are objectives for killing, whether it be to punish them for their vandalism, take their blood or simply kill them because they are 'freaks' pretending to blend in with the rest of the world. they stop aging in their teen years and maintain a youthful glow, and start aging again when they start to heavily use their magicks. humans have been trying to wipe out fae for centuries, and have concocted many ways to rid of the little pests. cold iron is like poison to the three classes of fae, they stray from it's presence and will die a slow death if impaled by the metal. a charm used by a witch can also corral or kill a fairy, so long as the witch follow through with the entirety of the charm. the final way to kill a fairy is to rip off their wings, which they use disillusions to hide them from the world to this day. one must find a way to get those wings revealed, and then proceed to shear them off before the fairy can hide them again.

SHORTCOMINGS a fae's magic is highly limited, they can only do things such as levitating or moving objects, change small details in their appearance, or make things appear out of thin air. they have wings, but they can't fly and they're a source of power to their lineage. one can spot out a fairy by the pigmentation of their irises. not one fairy has the same eye color, and they all tend to mix like a kaleidoscope of reds, blues, purples and yellows.

DRAGONS!!! FOKIN DRAGONS!!!  ☆ dragons were constructed by archangels of reptilian or serpentine form to protect the world from wars and massive tragedies. unlike the folktales that have spewed allegations of dragons being vicious creatures bent on salvaging gold and turning warriors into barbecue, in today's time dragons are known to be fiercely sacrificial and vigilant of maintaining peace upon earth. said to be wiser than humans they navigate the planes with a primal force of nature, spirituality and longevity, and are powerful allies to look upon if one is ever in a dismal situation. although not every dragon is loyal to the creed in which they were forged upon, it still remains that they were crafted in god's image and will always have that sector of them that harbors honor. after the first trials the archangels recognized the good the dragons were doing for mother earth, and chose to further aid their expedition by granting them the power to shift into human beings. under this guise they continued through the generations as they pleased up until the middle ages, when a coven of spiteful witches willed dark magic upon the dragon population, wanting to reduce it's compass and take back the title of being the most magical beings. the spell put darkness within the dragons hearts, forcing them to turn on one another in carnage. few managed to bypass the charm and scatter across the globe, but the witches' work did as implied and made it so only a few dragons remained.

LIFESPAN & DEATH dragons have no known starting point, as they were made in the regions of heaven. but some have lived to be centuries old, their dragon form growing to a point of absolution in size and power, whereas their human state remains in the same age untouched by humanities pitfalls of age or disease. dragon's blood is one of the most rare alongside seraph and phoenix blood, and so it is not logical to kill them until their veins are dried out. but if one wishes to kill a dragon they must procure an iron sword, and coat this iron sword in dragon's blood itself to combat the magic that is nearly impossible to contend with. there is no other method than this, and witches magic can only go so far as to harming or slowing down the species.

SHORTCOMINGS dragons are easy to spot out in this world if they shift from their human form, as they are typically gargantuan creatures with scales that shine as bright as the sun. they tend to stick to their human state to avoid detection, but some wholly miss their animalistic nature at the cost of having to blend in. witches are the only other species that can come up against dragons, all others are considerably nonthreatening. dragons can understand humans and have human thoughts in their reptilian form, however whilst in this form they cannot speak the language themselves.

BANSHEE  ☆banshees must be born into a family with a certain bloodline. the difference, however, is that there is not organization like there is with reapers. the bloodline could spend years dormant and ignored. it can only surface when someone dies and is revived, by either natural or supernatural means. anywhere from a few months to several years after a banshee is revived (depending on their age when it happened), their ability forms, and they find themselves drawn inexplicably to places and people. it’s only when they’re there that it becomes clear, and against their will they let out a horrible scream that only reapers, mediums, psychics, and the person doomed to die can hear. it can last for seconds or minutes, as long as it takes for the person to die.

LIFESPAN & DEATH they have normal lifespans, but when they die, they slip into a spiritual realm between the living and the dead, and continue their duty of alerting those doomed to die.

SHORTCOMINGS normal screams do not harm them, but if endangered, banshees can emit a second type of scream. it risks injury to their vocal chords, but can paralyze those around them in place, or even kill them. after 4-5 years of practice, banshees can also practice their screams to a level where they can shatter glass or eardrums. if you look a banshee in the eye whilst she is screaming, you risk the possibility of death seeing and coming for you as an extra prize. the only species that are exempt from this are dragons, and any type of ghost that is already dead.

UNICORN  ☆ Unicorns where created to be guardians and keepers. Bound by their word and pledge they will physically feel agony if they go back on a promise or pledge, some cases even death. Unicorns are creatures of nature, able to feed off the sickness, injury, decay and flaws of nature and its creatures, including humans, and when taking these in curing, cleansing and healing what it is they fed from. A sort of symbiotic relationship. With a hide as strong as a Nemean lion in unicorn form they are hard to injure, and regenerative healing they are hard to keep encumbered. In tune with nature they are able to communicate with the beasts of nature. Even other supernaturals when they are in beast form. While in unicorn form they can speak through mind but cannot read thoughts. Their horns are even tougher then their hide, as are their hooves. A coveted weapon able to put down many supernatural creatures. In human form they are still stronger than a human.

LIFESPAN & DEATH Unicorns are born not made. Unicorns are immortal and stop aging usually between their twenties and their thirties. They can be killed but it's difficult.

SHORTCOMINGS The Ghost Orchid. Its official name is the epipogium aphyllum - as stated before can be used as poison or rubbed on a weapon to break the hide. Just like the Rafflesia arnoldii, also known as the Corpse Flower can be weaponized against a unicorn. But if you got the Ghost Orchid and caught a live hind - and could get it to stay in supernatural form long enough get started on skinning it (once you start skinning it somehow blocks the unicorn from changing back to human form) - one could remove the hide and it would not turn into human skin. And it also prevents the unicorn from taking back human form. It is brutal - inhumane and inhuman process. Because most are alive - in unimaginable agony as its cut from them. They have been heavily hunted - over four thousand years ago they where nearly made extinct. They are still on the verge of extinction but obviously hardy as four thousand years later no one has managed to finish the job. The Unicorn was created with a very crippling weakness. One that can actually result in death if the wording is right - and without witches or spells. A unicorn is bound to its word. It was created to guard - protect. And its pledge / word was meant to bind it. If the one who they pledge to breaks their word they are free. If they break their word though it physically leaves them in growing agony and ill - and can result in death. Pledges and promises are few and far between for these beasts because of it now. Also they can be captured / manipulated with strong magic.
