He Who Came Back
DauntlessJungkook
It's been two days since the incident and yet, Taeyong lay still as ever in Yensen's infirmary. He could feel Jin's tense figure besides him as they both stood across from Taeyong, hoping the other would awaken from his deep slumber. He hadn't though, and according to the doctor, he wasn't going to any time soon. Ethroyacin was already deadly to the body, as it released pain signals ten-fold throughout an individuals body. Add in a bullet graze to the mix and your done for, literally. A normal person wouldn't be able to withstand the pain from the drug, and surviving a bullet on top of that.......was highly un-doable.
Jungkook released a burdened sigh as his eyes fell on Taeyong's peaceful expression as he slept. One would think he was napping with the way his eyelashes softly pressed against his cheeks, but Jungkook knew better, knew that the other was relieving nightmares from the night of Hansol's kidnapping. Ruffling his hair with an exhausted sigh, the teen slowly walked towards his best friend until he was sitting on the edge of the others bed, staring at the tightly wrapped gauze around the others injured shoulder. The injury he should have prevented from happening.
Slowly, his eyes trailed up from Taeyong's shoulders, passed his collarbone, until it fell onto his tightly shut eyes. He hadn't seen him for a week before the incident, hadn't seen the golden eyes of his teammate shine with the mischief it usually did and suddenly, Jungkook missed the other dearly. He had known this mission would take up a lot of the other's time, had known it would pull the other away from him, all missions did after all. But this was the first mission where they weren't working together and it bothered Jungkook more than he let on.
And Jungkook hated to admit it, but he missed him,
He missed Taeyong.
He missed him.
Jungkook clenched the bed sheets tightly in his hands as he fought to keep the tears at bay. But it was difficult, especially with the sudden onslaught of memories attacking him from every corner of his brain. He released a breathless and bitter laugh as he remembered the first time he had met Taeyong. He himself had been ten at the time, and coming across another ten year old who was caught sleeping upside down in his father's office with drool coming down his chin was definitely something he would never forget. Or the time Taeyong had his first crush only to spill his own coffee all of the girls dress when he was 15, they were all memories he treasured deeply. Sighing, Jungkook let his head fall down as the tears began escaping from his closed eye-lids
"P-please, please Taeyong-ah. Please, please, just p-please," Jungkook begged consistently as he began crying uncontrollably. He could feel Jin's presence behind him, who hesitated because suddenly he no longer had the assurance that he wouldn't break composure before Jungkook.
"Jungkook, Jungkook-ah, he'll be fine." Finally the elder tensely hugged him from behind before slipping away and out of the door, determined to speak the doctor again.
"You don't know....you don't know how scared, how terrified, I was when we arrived there. Arriving to the sight of a burning building, with the field smelling of blood, especially after the sound of a bullet had gone off. Young-ah, do you know how terrifying that was? To see your body sliding onto the wet floor as the rain pounded against your skull? And I was so far away from you. I could do nothing but watch the blood slide down from your body, and I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I should have been there
