I feel Hansol uncomfortably shift besides me as I continue to stare at Taeyong from my position under the shadows of the trees.
'Why is he protecting them? There's absolutely nothing in it for him.'
I watch as he takes a shuddering breath, my eyes trailing down to his trembling hand, which clutches at his heart in an attempt to lessen the pain he was feeling. And for a moment, I feel the slightest bit of guilt for the pain I caused him.
That was before I remembered the gang I worked for.
'There are, after all, no emotions tolerated in the 3 Blazes.'
I watch as Taeyong’s eyes linger on the EXO members, whom are all strewn on different corners of the grassy area as the building before them goes up in flashing red and blue flames. I continued to watch, as Hansol stands stiffly besides me, as Taeyong finally succumbs to the darkness of his conscience.
'He endured the pain for too long. Something not humanely possible for a 'normal' person. So, tell me Taeyong-ah, who are you?'
Ignoring Hansol's whispers of protest behind me, I begin walking towards the teen, my steps strengthening with each step I take before I fall to my knees right before him. My eyes fall onto his face, so smooth, striking, and utterly beautiful. And for the first time that night, I'm hesitant of bringing him into my arms. Knowing, that once I did, he would only be ending up in one place.
'The gang's hideout. No wonder Hansol asked me to come with him, I wouldn't ever be able to kidnap this angel on my own either.'
Sighing, I rid my mind of any doubts as I wrap my hands gently around his waist, before picking him up. Nestled into my arms, my heart softens as his head falls against my neck and I began to feel his soft puffs of breath against my freezing neck.
I release a bitter smile, as my eyes trail down his soft features once more.
