My name is Sakura Miyawaki and I am scribe for Librarian Eslek Tarrosh. This journal will document my travels and the people I met in Auriga. Great things will happen so I shall get to the first details.

I was abducted from my country of Japan by High King Gewis of Gimael 4 months ago. When I was serving my time here I have gained the trust of Eslek Tarrosh the country's head Arcivist. He gave me and Minami Takahashi (Takamina) a Job as his scribes since I can write well and Minami can draw decently.

Gimaelics:

The Gimaelics from what my Master Rainoric and his bodyguards taught me are a confederation of Auriga's Northern Tribes (called Barbarians by everyone in the planet including my own people both here and back home.) that are very skilled in war. The 2 most influential tribes of Gimael are the Salians (Consisting of Broken Lords) which is the Tribe that Rainoric, Gewis, Wulfgar are part of and the Suevic-Harii or Sebharii (Consisting of Humans) which Osgar, Ulrich and Lethuc hail from. Born to the harsh tundra of Gimael they are a hardy people who can easily make do with what they have. They are virtually immune to their native climate such as I remembered a time when I saw Ulrich running around the courtyard without a shirt. They are also master artisans and merchants due to the constant influx of raiding goods and slaves to fuel their 'Free Market fencing' economy. Their military are considered the most ferocious of warriors in Auriga that my people the Japanese have the unfortunate privilege of fighting against.

Leadership among the Barbarians of the North is not of election like back in Earth or Divine right but who had the strongest will. The Salians are the strongest of the Gimaelics and have made all of the Gimaelics fall on their knees in servitude to them. Gewis wish to see that the line of Eadwulfs would continue to rule over Gimael for more millenias and is grooming my Master Rainoric to be the next High King. For him to prove he is the strongest amongst the Gimaelics, he will have to travel around Auriga completing daring quests and treacherous wars.

Thanks to their wonder metal fondly called 'Gimaelic Steel', which is truly in my eyes 'Miracle Metal'. Their famous armor can stop even the most penetrating of bullets while giving the wearer the utmost flexibility. Rainoric told me that Gimaelic steel is an alloy of several different metals that are not found from Earth. Their armor and weapons coupled with Dust, a material used to build buildings or object and even weaponize for maximum damage makes them a fearsome sight to be seen in battle. Each Gimaelic freeman are given military training in a young age and are freely carrying around at least one weapon.

Some of the various aspects of Gimaelic culture simply shocked me. It is considered normal for a 12 year old boy (Hayato who is my friend Haruka's little brother) to join the army. The punishment for many crimes are brutal and the jails are more like Torture chambers rather than actual jails. Wearing animal skins is ok in which im fine with since cotton shirts are considered a luxury item. And fighting for the most petty of reasons are constant through out the region.

Despite these flaws I have seen various shining lights about Gimaelics that we Japanese can admire from. They are brave in the face of death. Cunning in both economy and in warfare. Are open to new ideas such as when Gewis has began to reform the economy of Gimael to make it even more prosperous thanks to some new Earth Advisors which involves several Salarymen, an English teacher, a young politician and the ambassador of Croatia! Gewis has been working hard on reforms in the military that I was told from Rainoric. The military has become more meritocratic and specialized thanks to the new influx of ideas from Earth. These Earth Advisors have become the talk of the town for their achievements.

The climate in Gimael is Tundra with a very short summer of about 2-3 months and its back to snow and ice.

The snow was hard to get use to from the sunny beaches of Kagoshima back home which I miss alot. The tress would remind me of the Cherry Blossoms of spring which my Master Rainoric likes to see one day if he could. And the mountains are very rocky and have mines everywhere harvesting rocks and ores.

Rainoric Eadwulf:

My master and my new friend is the Son of High King Gewis Eadwulf can be a stubborn man if I can call him one. You see Rainoric or the Eadwulfs arent human nor any living thing for starters. He and his father Gewis are Broken Lords. Spirits who are linked in Dust Armor for the rest of their lives. The feed off Dust or in other people (which they only do when their desperate or are criminals for I have heard that the pain hurts alot).

Rainoric is the 3rd generation of a dynasty that started with his grandfather Merovech Eadwulf. Merovech founded Gimael after being exiled for murder about ten thousand Earth years ago. He founded Guaita the citade that l I live in and established the Gimaelic Kingdom. Gimael in the language of the Aurigans meaning 'Dead Land' for the land their is hard to farm.

Trained to be more of a warior than a king, Rainoric would often challenge anyone and I mean anyone into a fight with him and always come out on top whether fairly or unfairly. He also just have the same hot temper as his father and grandfather before him but I was actually able to stop it for some reasons I still dont know. Often he would talk about Sagas of famous Gimaelic hero's in return I would tell him stories of Japan and my world in which he takes an interest to.

If I can describe Rainoric, he is a man of many personalities. He can be a good friend and boss one minute and Satan incarnated the next if you happen to get him mad.  (In which his father and he are infamous for their hot tempers). Often I would help him calm down by either teaching him some yoga or just distracting him with stories or anything in particular I can use to help.

Wulfgar 'the Tower' Bjornsson:

This 7 feet tall Broken Lord is one of Rainoric's 3 Huscarls. Being a former Lumberjack, he is accustomed to carrying a large custom made axe which is 5 feet long in which he calls it 'Rock Breaker'. He lives up to his title as 'the Tower' for his gargantuan size and superior strength and is deemed 'Auriga's strongest man'. He originally was a Huscarl for High King Gewis but was transferred to protect his son Rainoric. I have seen what this man does in his spare time and he has done many great feats that can rival Earth's strongest men. He once carried a 500 kg log from a lumberyard to the market without stopping. He once destroyed a mountain with his axe because 'I wanted to hit something'. And his most famous one, during a battle he slammed his Axe to the ground so many times that it caused an earthquake! He is also a man of great honor and wisdom and would be a voice of reason in Rainoric's inner circle.

Osgar 'God Spear' Daguth

A 'Civilized' warrior. Osgar is another one of Rainoric's 3 Huscarls. Preferring to fight with a spear, a large oval shield and heavy armor made of Gimaelic Steel. Osgar is the first one to take a barrage of bullets and arrows for his High King and the first to charge into a fight. Outside of battle, he would drink wine that he would 'acquire' from merchants and would flirt or chat with Takamina or Paruru in which it either happens well or not for them. Impulsive, uncomprimising, loyal but not afraid to speak his opinion. Osgar is by far the most interesting Barbarian that I and my friends have met. He even helped teach Hayato how to fight and become a Anstrutrione Hussarian.

Ulrich "Young Wolf" Langobard

Half man and beast (Literally!). Ulrich is by far the most unique Gimaelic I ever encountered. He has the mind of a 3 year old buy in the body of a 20 something year old man. One of Rainoric's 3 Huscarls, he protects his master with his life like a loyal hound. When Ulrich is young his father, Chieftain Lethuc 'Great Wolf' Langobard, sent him to live with a group of Wolfmen called Tetikes. Ulrich learned hunting, tracking, running and gymnastics while there. But what is most shocking of the Tetikes is how Ulrich became a dim-witted (but still likeable) man that I know is that he was given a drug that had permanent affects in his body (most importantly his brain). He has enhanced strength, agility, senses and weapons proficiecny such as dual wielding and sword and shield. The only drawback of the drug he took was that it made his speech crude, impulsive, oversensitive to sound, has some very strange attachments to his few personal belongings (He sleeps with his axe just to let you know), may repeat exactly what he is told, abnormal repetive actions (Standing up and shaking himself like if he was dancing), has no sign of danger and personal hygiene and the list just goes on. But overall Ulrich is special for sometimes when the Gedriht is stuck on a problem, it is always Ulrich who can get the Job done. Sometimes I treat him like a little brother and would feed him his favorite food of Boar ribs and would scratch him in the head when he sleeps.

I sympathize with these 'Barbarians'. They are just a group of people that were wronged by almost the entire world and mine also because they live in a harsh world where food is scarce and might makes right. I wish me and my friends Minami, Haruka and Hayato could changed these men for the better for their future and their children's too.

So that is my Journal so far, Im currently on the road to Vanoran with my master and I will continue to write on tis Journal when we make up camp again.
