Chapter Four
Needs | EDITINGSulli has been thinking about it over and over again. It was a big offer and a risky chance but will she be happy about it in the end? It's been a week since her last talk with Taemin over the topic and ever since then, it never left her mind. You could say it was a chance for her to try new things and get out of her comfort zone and step into soemthing new
Finally after thinking it over for the final and last time, Sulli has come to an decision. She picked up her phone and dialed the number that Taemin gave to her last week. With a pounding heart, Sulli waited for answer and when it came, suddenly her words disappeared. Was she ready?
[on the phone]
Minho: Hello?
Sulli: Hi— ah—is this a friend of Lee Taemin?
Minho: Yes it is. And who might this be?
Sulli: Um— this is the person he recommended for the role of your wife. Im just calling to give an answer
Minho: Oh, please go on. Whats your answer
Sulli: Im taking your offer but as long as you give me a job
Minho: Thats great! And no worries, I'll be giving you a job personally
Sulli: If you dont mind, can we meet? Lets personally meet each other and talk this out
Minho: Uh, sure. When do you like to meet?
Sulli: Im free this Thursday. Is that convient for you?
Minho: This Thursday? Oh okay then. So this Thursday?
Sulli: Yeah, text me the details on where should we meet and what time
Minho: Okay, so I guess see you this Thursday
Sulli: Uh yeah, see you
After hanging up, Sulli let out a much needed breath that she was holding in. Sulli thought about it again, will she be ready to face a new part of her life with her soon to be husband? Suddenly, regret went through Sulli's system but she thought that its too late to back out
The days flew by in a blink of an eye and to Sulli's surprise it was already the day she dreaded. Which means it was already Thursday and she finally gets to meet her husband. She recieved the details and they're bound to meet around lunch time at a resturant
Although Sulli dreaded this day, she thought it was only acceptable to look decent. Sulli picked put a flower printed knee length dress pairing it along with skin toned wedges and small side bag. She wemt with a simple make up with braided up do. A final look in the mirror and Sulli left
Arriving at the resturant, Sulli with a scattered mind and punding heart, she asked the waiter for the reservation of 'M Choi', the waiter directed her to a more private part of the resturant. The waiter saif that the reserved table is behind the door. Sulli was left alone, as Sulli was about to open the door, her heart raced
Sulli stepped inside and when her landed on the guy who was only there, dropped in a instant. It couldnt be! Sulli thought to herself. Getting nearer and nearer, the face starts to get more familiar.
"Minho?"
"Sulli?"
Both of them said at the same time, both were shocked. They all had mixed emotions inside them, their words were vanished. How can this be? Minho was first to get back to his senses and stood up. Sulli froze, didnt know how to move or do
"Where are my manners? Please have a sit." Minho said as he pulled out the chair for Sulli, she smiled a little and thanked him. Taking their seats, Minho and Sulli stared at each other. The fact of being each others potenial spouse shocked the both of them. Neither of them expected to meet again in this kind of situation
"So I guess your the person Taemin was referring to. If you dont mind me asking, how do you and Taemin know each other?" Minho asks, curious. Sulli stayed silent but soon enough answered his question.
"Him and I are long time childhood friends. We basically grew up together. How did you two meet?" Sulli replied
"Well him and I were from the same neighborhood and our families know each other. So you could say, we grew up knowing each other. Taemin is a good, grounded man. He's very diligent and a helpful friend. To tell you the truth, I was happy when Taemin told me that he knows a person to be my wife. But I never expected it to be you though. It was quite a turn there" Minho says, Sulli smiles shyly
"Well neither of us did but I guess its for the best right? Possibly?" Sulli replies with a slight smile, Minho chuckles. Minho suggested that they should order first before they talk in depths about the situationa and what they will do next. Through out it, Sulli felt uneasy. Was there a certain reason to be?
After waiting for some time, the food finally came and they started to eat. It took a while for Sulli to touch her food, maybe the nervousness was getting to her. Minho noticed that Sulli was quiet, being polite enough,Minho asked if there's anything wrong
"No, I guess I just feel uneasy with the situation all of a sudden. But otherwise, Im perfectly fine. Dont worry about me. Just eat." Sulli said, giving an assuring smile. Was it weird to feel worried because thats what Minho felt all of a sudden after seeing how Sulli hardly ate anything
After the meal, Minho and Sulli discussed the matters and talked it out. It was an easy process and just like what Minho said to Taemin, he'll give to the woman who is wiling to be his wife. After hearing Sulli's need, Minho thought it was a simple thing for her to ask but he doesnt want to go on full detail about it with her
"So let me get this straight, youre in need of money to pay off your rent and you want a better job than you have now to support you after? But havent you thought that after all of this, you and I have to live under one roof right? So why do you still have want money to pay?" Minho clarified
"That was my first intention but then again, my mind was scattered and I wasnt thinking straight. I was overwhelmed when he said that he knows someone that can help me but there's something I have to do in return of it. So you cant put the blame in me if I wasnt thinking straight the past week. Im just human, you know. A person just like you." Sulli said hinting sarcasam, Minho was impressed with how she talked, he never expected that
"Well sorry, well just like you, Im human too. Dont you think I wouldnt need you if Im not desperate enough? I didnt even want this in the first place. It was all my parents doings and for the past year, they've been bothering me. I just want them to stop." Minho said, Sulli dryly chuckled
"Its like were just using each other to get what we both want. How absurd." Sulli said, sarcastically rolling her eyss.
"Its the truth, we are using each other to complete our needs. Crazy right? You want a job and I want a wife, now everything works out right?" Minho says, laughing with humor.
"Yeah, I guess so. Speaking of, what kind of job are you giving me?" Sulli asked
"I'll look into that but what job interests you?" Minho says, Sulli thought about. It hasnt really came to Sulli's mind on what job she really wants to pursue. And with Minho there, Sulli thought she could get any job she dreams of. It looks like anything is possible with the person in front of her
"Any job can do as long I get good pay, I guess, but if I had the choose, it would have to do something with buisness and finance or probably anything that can relate to companies. I was going to major in Buisness until I dropped out of school due to financial problems" Sulli explained, Minho nods. Ideas started to ran through Minho's head
"Companies and buisness you say? How about you work for me? Actually Im in need of a person to be an executive sales coordinator in one of the departments of the company. Do you mind filling in that job? You will still get paid a whole ton. What do you say?" Minho suggests, Sulli starts to brighten up
"Sounds challenging but I'm sure I can take it since I've went through harder challenges throughout my life. Why not? Sure, I'll take it! But whats the company called and who's the President of it?" Sulli said, Minho smirked
"MC Incorporation, thats what the company is called and as for the President, you're looking right at him. I'm the president as well as the CEO of MC Inc." Minho said, Sulli's mouth dropped in disbelief. Minho chuckles, smirking at her.
"Shut up. No freaking way. YOU'RE THE CEO? AT THAT YOUNG OF AN AGE?" Nearly shouting the last parts, Sulli immediately covers with her hands after notcing where she is at. Minho starts to laugh, her reaction was absolutely priceless. Minho thinks to himself
"Dont believe me? Well yeah, it is quite a shocker. Who could have thought a young man at the age of 23 can run a multi-million company? Crazy, right? Are you going to change your mind? Do you still want it? I mean I could give it to someone else" Minho says, Sulli instantly shakes her head
"You kidding me? No way, I'm staying with my choice. Its just shocking to hear that my husband to be will also be the freaking CEO of the company I'm going to work for." Sulli says, ranting out. Minho laughs, shaking his head. Well, isnt she a good pick?
"Dont worry, I dont think we'll see each other that often in the company. Your job requires you to join different meetings around Korea and there's a whole lot responsibility being put into it. Are you sure you can handle it? Itcan be stressful, just giving a heads up ." Minho explains, Sulli nonchantly nods along
"Like I've said, this is only a little challenge. I can do this, I know I can. Dont I need like need special training to do that?" Sulli asks. Suddenly she started to wuestion herself on how far will she get with the title of 'Executive Sales Cordinator' since she hasnt even have a degree at all
"Dont worry about that, I've got you covered. I can personally teach you a few things about it and I'm sure you can easily learn and understand from it. One more thing, you have to come into work by Monday. No excuses. I really dont like it when someone picks something over when it comes to work. I expect that you will stay focus in your job, araso?" Minho says, Sulli nods
"Yes sir!" Sulli responds, doing a salute to Minho, he starts to laugh.
"So since my need of a job is done, now its your turn. Explain your need. Why do you need a wife in the first place?" Sulli says, wanting to know more about the situation, its not simply just her invovled. Its the both of them.
"Its like my parents control my life. They want me to get married and settle down while I'm still young and enjoying the liberation of life. But a being a stubborn me, I refuse. Yeah, you might think, I already refused it, why do I still need a wife, right?" Minho says, Sulli nods, listening
"Ever since they've told me the idea and right away, I responded with a no. So they have been pestering me about it ever since, its been getting on my nerves and I just want it to end. And the only way is to give them what they want. So here we are, stuck." Minho explains
"Well I guess you have it harder then. I just needed a job but you needed a wife" Sulli jokes, laughing. Minho laughs along with her
"Lets hope this goes well and ends well." Minho said, sighing a bit
"Dont let negative thoughts get to you. Always think positive like the saying goes. We can do this! Fighting!" Sulli ethusiascally says, doing a hand gesture giving Minho an assuring smile. Although, Minho doesnt know where this will lead, he gives a small smile to Sulli
"I know you can smile bigger than that. Here, let me fix it" Sulli says, getting up and went to Minho's side. She grabbed his face and stretched his cheeks, forcing him to smile his 'widest'. Sulli couldnt contain her laugh ss she burst after doing so
"Not funny" Minho says in a monotone, Sulli rolls her eyes and walked back to her seat
"Well sorry. Just human here" Sulli says in a matter of fact tone, even rollimg her eyes.
"No, your an alien" Minho says
"Excuse me? Pssh, whateves" Sulli says
