Hyukjae entered his front garden and slowly shut the gate quietly. It was weird coming home after school without Donghae. Whilst briskly walking up the garden path, he had to try not to focus on the broken stems from where he had picked the flowers earlier; they only served to remind him of Donghae and he had to focus right now.

The house was empty. He had made sure that his parents were gone for the weekend. Checking every room just to be sure, he breathed in deeply.

Just relax Hyuk everything will be okay. 

Sprawled out across his white leather sofa, Hyuk sighed deeply as he looked at the time. It was 7 o’clock, it had been three hours and forty-five minutes since he had last seen Hae (not that he was counting.) Letting out a cry of frustration, he buried his face in one of the many cushions and pillows that adorned the sofa. He had snuggled so deeply into the furniture, that he almost didn’t hear the bell ring.

Almost.

Jumping up he immediately thought, could it be Hae. He hoped it was. Actually, he more than hoped, he wished with all his being.

Mostly tripping over his own feet, he scrambled to the door and flung it open. He’s here! He actually came; I was beginning to get worried. Without hesitation he flew forwards, locked his arms around him and lifted Hae up. Spinning him around caused Hae to release cute giggles at the unexpected action, which was music to Hyuk’s ears.

Finally putting him down, he stopped and stared at the blushing boy before him. Donghae had changed from his uniform into an outfit Hyuk had never seen before and he was glad he hadn’t cause he may have jumped him if he had. Donghae was wearing a pair of skinny black jeans which hugged his thighs and cute perfectly. He also had on a blue checked shirt which he had buttoned down to the point where he could see his white under-top. His hair had been gelled back so it was out of his face.

But he wasn’t the only one who had changed; Hyukjae himself had changed into a black shirt and a pair of white jeans. When he had finished staring at the boy like a hungry wolf, he snapped out of it, and his previously grinning face suddenly turned into a pout.

Hae was confused by the sudden change of emotion and questioned, “Why are you looking at me like that?” 

Hyuk’s pout deepened and he cutely whined, “You’re late. Why are you so late?”

“Ewww, are you acting cute?” Hae took a step back, disgusted by the blonde’s aegyo.

But Hyuk only strengthened his acting. “Don’t change the subject.” He whined whilst stomping his feet like a toddler throwing a tantrum.

Hae recoiled in horror. Oh my god, he’s finally lost the plot. The day he decides to ask me out is the day he loses his mind. I think I might have taken too long and he became insane due to waiting.  He does look really cute though…Hae decided that the only way to stop this shocking performance was to answer his question but…

Hae blushed. “Well…you see…erm…I was super-duper nervous about our date tonight and it first of all took me a long time to get over the initial shock. Then it was a question of what I would wear, and whilst they were trying to be helpful…” Hae grabbed Hyuk’s shirt, “NEVER HAVE RYEOWOOK AND SUNGMIN HELP YOU GET READY FOR A DATE.” He warned.

Hyukjae couldn’t help but laugh at Hae’s distressed face, which earned him a slap on the arm from a pouting Hae.

“It’s not funny Hyukkie.”

“I’m sorry Hae, please continue.”  Hyuk said, as he wiped his tears of laughter.

Shooting one last glare at the blonde he continued, “Anyways, it took like a good two hours for them to finally stop faffing over me and now…here I am.” He held his arms out.

“Yep, here you are.” Hyuk still couldn’t believe it.

“So…shall we go?” Hae was trying to hide his excitement but he couldn’t.

“Yes we shall.” And with that Hyukjae slid around Donghae and covered his eyes with his hands, eliciting a soft gasp from Hae.

“What are you doing?” Hae was slightly curious but it was more his anticipation that asked.

“Do you trust me?” Hyuk’s husky voiced breathed into Hae’s ear and he shakily replied, “I trust you Hyukkie.”

Words couldn’t explain how good it felt to Hyuk for him to get that response. It’s what he had been working towards since they started their friendship. That’s why tonight had to be perfect. If something went wrong and he lost Hae, he would be more then devastated.

“Walk carefully, okay.” Hae nodded and Hyuk took this as his sign to proceed.

Guiding him cautiously through his house, Hyuk took extra care to make sure that his currently visually-impaired Hae didn’t bump into any of sharp surfaces or fall down any steps. Finally reaching his back garden door, he removed his hands from Hae’s face and watched with pride as his chocolate brown eyes filled with amazement.

Stepping up behind him, Hyuk wrapped his arms around the still shocked brunette and rested his head on his shoulder. “Do you like it?”

“I…but…how…it.” He spluttered, words failing him.

“It’s okay. Take your time.” Hyuk chuckled into his neck, which certainly didn’t help Hae at that moment.

“How! Just how, Hyukkie?” he exclaimed whilst turning around in his arms. He couldn’t believe it. Hyukjae had managed to turn his huge back garden into a romantic date set for two. The patterned, black iron railings that ran along the stone steps that led down into the garden were covered in white twinkling fairy lights, as were the trees that surrounded the large expansive space. The steps led to a slabbed patio where a table, blanketed by a white tablecloth, was laid out with a burning candle and a glass vase holding a bouquet of red roses. The patio was slightly raised and Hyukjae had scattered blue rose petals in the fancy pool it overlooked.

Hyuk peered down into Hae’s eyes, his hands locked in the small of his back, “I did it all for you. That’s how. Just keeping you in mind allowed this beauty to happen.”

Hae’s mouth fell open slightly and he started to laugh. “Are you going to be this greasy all night?”

Hyukjae grinned, that special smile that Hae loved, the one where his gums would show and his eyes would wrinkle. “Why? Do you want me to stop?”

Hae seriously thought it over, his eyebrows furrowing cutely. “Hhhhhhmmmmmmm…” He tapped his finger on his chin, “No.” He finally answered.

“Good, cause I had no intention of stopping.”

Hae rolled his eyes. “Stupid monkey.” He muttered under his breath as he tutted at the blonde’s teasing. 

“After you, m’lady.” Hae scoffed at him but descended the steps anyway. Smiling proudly because he had gotten away with saying that, he followed after. When they reached the table Hyuk pulled out Hae’s chair for him and pushed him in, before taking hi
