KYUHYUN’S Point-of-view:

It’s exactly 7:30 in the evening and all of us were just hanging around Sungmin hyung’s place. We just finished dinner which was cooked for us by Sungmin hyung’s personal chef that they hired from Italy and now, we’re just sitting by the pool, designed by a prestigious architect which made this place look like a resort from the United States. It has coconut trees, a mini waterfall, and different sizes of rocks to make the place more appealing to the eyes. We were chatting and watching Leeteuk hyung and Donghae hyung swim. You might think that we are having the time of our lives but there are times that we feel bored, just like now.

“Hyungs, it school again tomorrow and this is the last day of our summer as high school students! Shouldn’t we do anything productive?” I asked my hyungs.

“Do you have a suggestion, Kyuhyunnie?” Sungmin hyung asked me. He really likes it when he calls me by Kyuhyunnie. Sungmin hyung is one cute guy.

“No I don’t, that’s why I’m asking you.” I replied.

“Heechul hyung, don’t you have any ideas?” Sungmin asked Heechul hyung who was staring blankly into the night sky.

Heechul hyung was looking deeply at the night sky but when Sungmin hyung nudged him, he looked like he was surprised and immediately shifted his eyes at our direction.

“Aish! What is it?!” Heechul hyung was irritated. That was so typical of him. Heechul hyung is known for his short patience and he always loses his temper easily. All of us were used to it since all of us have been best friends since we entered our first year in high school. Since we entered high school, we were enrolled in a special program at our school which separates us from the normal classrooms. We all wanted to live a fun and normal high school life but since our parents didn’t want us to just mingle with anyone, they made the decision for us. In our class, there’s only the 5 of us. We have no problem with that since all of us are friends and we can work around each other comfortably.

“Didn’t you hear what Kyuhyunnie said?” Sungmin hyung asked.

“No!” Heechul hyung replied.

“I asked if you guys wanted to something productive tonight since this is our last summer night as high school students. We will be in our last year of high school tomorrow.” I repeated.

“That’s a nice idea, Kyu.” Leeteuk hyung suddenly said. I looked back and saw that he and Donghae hyung already left the pool and they were now wiping their topless bodies with a towel.

“Do you have any ideas?” Donghae hyung asked us all.

“I don’t.” I said.

“Whatever you want is fine with me, just let me at least have some fun tonight.” Heechul hyung added.

“Wait, let me think first.” Sungmin hyung said.

“We leave the decision to you Sungminnie.” Leeteuk hyung said.

“Let your creative mind work.” Donghae hyung said.

“Donghae-ah, let’s change to our clothes first.” Leeteuk hyung said to Donghae hyung.

“Okay, do well Sungmin.” Donghae hyung said then they made their way to the guest house by the pool.

SUNGMIN’S Point-of-view:

Kyuhyunnie was right! Our lives are too boring as it is. We can’t live the normal life that we wanted because our parents already dictated it. For once, I hope we can experience a different kind of thrill and adventure that kid’s our age normally does.

We can’t go clubbing because we always do that. We also can’t go to the race tracks and have racing with our race cars since we just did that yesterday. Think outside the box, Sungmin! You can do it! Think of things that normal kids your age does for fun! I kept on encouraging myself until an imaginary light bulb switched on inside my brain.

“I GOT IT!” I shouted.

“You startled me, hyung! What is it?” Kyuhyunnie asked.

“I remembered last night, when I just got out of the sauna, I heard my maids talking about some one night only amusement park! They said that a lot of kids were going there and they also wanted to come. Don’t you think we should just go there? We have never even felt what it’s like to be in an amusement park with lots of people!” I explained to them.

I looked at the two of them and Kyuhyunnie started to nod his head.

“That can be an option; I have never been to an amusement park before. I mean, I’ve never been to an amusement park here in Korea before.” Kyuhyunnie said.

“What do you think hyung?” I asked Heechul hyung who was staring blankly into the night sky again.

“Fine by me. As long as I can have a new experience by tonight then I’m in.” Heechul hyung replied.

This was great! Both of them have agreed to my idea! I’m excited too since I was just like Kyuhyunnie. I’ve never entered a single amusement park here in Korea.

When Leeteuk hyung and Donghae started to walk towards us, I couldn’t help but shout and wave my arms.

“Leeteuk hyung!! Donghae-ah!! I got it!! I have the perfect idea!!” I shouted while waving my arms at them.

“Calm down, Sungmin. They can hear you perfectly.” Heechul hyung said.

“Sorry, hyung! I’m just too excited.” I explained

“What is it Sungminnie? You seem so excited.” Leeteuk hyung said.

“I thought of the most wonderful thing! I heard my maids last night talking about some one night only amusement park! It only happens tonight and we should totally go there!” I happily explained.

“That’s a nice idea! I want to ride the roller coaster! Let’s go Sungminnie!! I can’t wait!” Leeteuk hyung happily said. When it comes to this kind of stuff, only hyung and I doesn’t hesitate to show our excitement in front of everyone. Heechul hyung, Kyuhyunnie and Donghae are timid people but even though they keep quiet, I know that they’re having fun as well.

“Let’s go then!” Donghae said.

HEECHUL’S Point-of-view:

At last, a time where we can actually have fun! It might look like I wasn’t excited at all a while ago but when Sungmin suggested going to the amusement park, I was actually excited and happy deep inside.

I was not in my normal state tonight. I’ am normally funny, noisy and energetic but I have this thought in my mind that keeps on bugging me. My friends think I was only bored a while ago but I was actually deep in my thoughts, trying to figure out things. I just realized that we are about to leave high school but I have never really felt the actual feeling of fun and love. Yes, I do have fun with my friends but all of them will agree with me when I say that we are still lacking a different kind of happiness and fun. Plus, all of us haven’t been in love even once. When I see some couples at our school, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of jealousy. Some of the girls that go after us only liked us for our money and for our looks. When will I ever find the person that I will love and will truly love me? I feel like a total loser for not having even one relationship in my whole life.  

But enough of this drama! We went here to have fun and have a new adventure!

“Alright, where should we go first?” I asked them.

The amusement park was full of colors and laughs. Everything was illuminating to the eyes and you can hear different kinds of sounds that made me believe that this was really a fun place. Different stalls of food and games were set up and different rides were there as well.

“I’m really anticipating riding the roller coaster!!” Leeteuk hyung said.

“Me too!” Donghae added in.

“Then let’s go! We should not waste precious time!” Sungmin excitedly said.

We walked towards the line for the roller coaster but a gang of guys blocked our way.

“It has been a while Kim Heechul!” The front man said.

My friends looked at me with confused expressions. Why did he have to show up now?

“It really has been a while Kangin.” I just said with a firm expression.

“I didn’t expect to see you in this kind of place.” He replied.

“Does it say outside that Kim Heechul is not allowed?” I asked sarcastically.

“Good point but it says outside that animals are not allowed and I guess that means you’re not allowed inside?” He said then the guys with him laughed.

“Really? You already find that funny? And is that all you’ve got? I thought you were the almighty Kangin but I guess that was just a show, huh?” I replied.

I can see that his expression suddenly became darker and his hands suddenly clenched into a fist. Uh-oh, this is not good. Kangin was once introduced to me by a friend when we were hanging out at a club. He started to get drunk and started to hit on girls. I couldn’t bear the sight anymore and it looked like the girl didn’t like what was happening as well. Without thinking, I stormed in their conversation and asked him to leave the girl alone. He got mad and eventually beat me up. Both of us punched each other but he was much stronger than me that was why the guards of the club asked him to leave and I just went home. I seriously stayed in bed for 2 days because of the bruises and muscle pains. I don’t want to experience that kind of agony again.

“What did you say?! Are you asking for a beating again?! KIM HEECHUL! YOU’RE DEAD MEAT!” Kangin started to shout.

This is so not good!

“EVERYONE RUN!!!!” I shouted to all of them so they will be saved from the violent gang of Kangin.

“AFTER THEM!” I heard Kangin shout.

There were so many people that it was hard to run fast.

“HYUNG! WHAT’S WRONG?!” Sungmin was panting and was running by my side.

“DON’T LET THEM GET YOU OR YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO WALK TOMORROW! EVERYONE! SCATTER! WE WILL BE HARDER TO FIND IF WE’RE NOT TOGETHER!” I managed to shout at them. My 4 friends didn’t have time to question me anymore so they just followed what I said and all of them ran off to different directions.

DONGHAE’S Point-of-view:

I have no idea what just happened but I know that if I didn’t run, I would be drenched in my own blood by now. What did Heechul hyung ever do to that guy? Right now, I’m having a hard time running away from the big dude who has been chasing me since we scattered. People in the amusement park are so close to each other that I have to bump into a lot of them without even saying sorry.

I was desperate to find a place to hide but it’s hard when you’re running at the same time. I can feel beads of sweat on my face and the heat from my feet because of the friction from running. Where should I hide?! Every time I look behind me, I just see the man growling at me looking like he wanted to eat me alive. I may be a man but I have to admit that I get scared too and this is one of that moments.

I tried so hard to search for a place to hide and I finally saw a popcorn stand that can be accessed easily. I made my way to the stand but I practically crawled on my way there so that the guy following me won’t see where I have gone to. People started to look down on the ground when they saw me crawling but I just hoped that it won’t let the guy know that the man that he was after was the one who was crawling.

The man who was selling popcorn looked at me weirdly when I hid behind him.

“I’m sorry but can you just please pretend that I’m not here? And if someone looks for me, tell them that you saw me running past this stand.” I said to the man.

“Uh..okay?” The man said.

“Thank you so much!” I thanked him.

After a few seconds I saw the guy stopping in front of the stand and looking around. Oh God! Please don’t let him see me! Please!!

I peeked to see if he was still there. Luckily, he has left and I finally stood up. I walked calmly but suddenly, I saw the guy heading back to my direction. Oh no! Panic!! I scanned the area to see where I can hide but the only thing near me was the Ferris wheel. A girl was being ushered to take her seat at one of its boxes. She was alone and no one was seating beside her. My mind was in panic and my instinct took over me so I ran over to the Ferris wheel and I went in front of the line to take the seat beside the girl. I took the lock from the man who was assisting the girl and I was the one who make sure that our seats are safe.

“I’m so sorry but can you please just go?! It’s really an emergency!” I pleaded to the man and he just nodded then pressed a button. In one second, the Ferris wheel started moving but it stopped because they were ushering the other people who were in line to ride.

I sighed in relief and took a deep breath. Thank you God!

“Uhh--- who are you and why did you just take the seat beside me?” The girl beside me asked.

I totally forgot about her but when I looked at her, she totally took my breath away.

LEETEUK’S Point-of-view:

Heechul knows that I’m not good when it comes to running! How can he let me do this?! I thought we were here to have fun not to be caught in some gang fight! I was struggling to breathe while running, trying to catch my breath. I admit that I’ am scared and I kept on looking at the man who was chasing me. That didn’t do me any good. I just panicked and looked like a total fool.

While running, I was thinking of a way to avoid the man chasing me. What should I do?! I stopped for a moment and looked around to see where I can go that he wouldn’t notice me but instead I saw a girl from a distance that was looking at me with a weird expression on her face. She was alone and she was holding a pink cotton candy on her right hand and she was using her left hand to pinch portions of the cotton candy for her to eat. I returned her look but I wasn’t able to control my facial expression anymore. I wanted to give her a smile but I think I showed her my panting and wet face. Her eyes widened and she just flashed an awkward smile at me.

I was surprised when she pointed something behind me so I gave her a confused look. She was still pointing behind me so I decided to take a look. Oh no! I totally forgot about the man chasing me! I was too mesmerized with the girl’s beauty and awkwardness. The man was so near that I didn’t know what to do.

I was about to start running, feeling a regret for not talking to the girl but she surprised me by what she did.

“Omo! Are you looking for the guy right now who was running frantically?!! The one who has dark orange hair and looked like an old man who doesn’t know how to run?!!” The girl blocked the way of the guy who was after me and she started to act excited and scared in front of him.

The girl’s back was facing me but I can totally hear what she was saying. Hey! I’m not an old man!!Oh no! Are my fine lines starting to show?! Never mind! I kept on looking at them when I saw the hand of the girl placed behind her back and she was signaling me to bend down. The situation was pressuring me so I just did what she told me to do.

“Yes, I’ am! Why have you seen him?!” They dude asked the girl.

“Omo! What to do?! I did! I just saw him enter the horror house! Go after him! Before he escapes you! That man didn’t look he was gonna do good things!” I heard the girl say.

What the hell is she saying?! Am I that ugly?!

“Thank you, beautiful miss! Thanks for the heads up!” The dude said then ran to the other direction.

The guy still had the time to flirt with the girl, huh? We’ll let’s see if he doesn’t scream and whines like a girl once he enters the Horror house! The flood of relief came rushing into me. Thank you so much Lord for giving me another chance to live! Kim Heechul! You’re dead!

“Ehem..” I heard someone do a fake cough and when I looked up, it was the girl who helped me.

“Oh!” I let out a surprised sound and slowly, I started to stand up.

“Care to say thank you to your life savior?” The girl said with a smirk then ate a portion of her cotton candy.

Thank you so much Lord for letting me meet this one of a kind cute girl!

KYUHYUN’S Point-of-view:

Good thing I started to go to the gym with Leeteuk hyung and Donghae hyung or else I would become the meat that those guys would feast over right now. Heechul hyung, what did you do again this time?! Do you know how hard it is to be chased by a guy that’s double my own size?! I definitely know that I couldn’t take him down that’s why I didn’t dare do it anymore.

I wasn’t paying attention to where I was heading to. All I know is that running in this kind of crowd with bright and colorful lights blinding your eyes can be really exhausting! Really exhausting! Plus, wearing my jacket wasn’t really helpful with all the heat I’m feeling and the amount of sweat that my body was releasing. I have to remove this jacket!

I was in the process of struggling to remove my jacket when an idea came into mind. I immediately looked at the people around me, trying to find a man that has the same height as mine and who looks kinda like me when their backs are turned. I stopped running for a second, trying hard to breathe while panting, to look closely at the crowd that was surrounding me. My attention was immediately caught when a couple beside me stopped laughing when they saw me trying to catch my breath.

“Uhmm sir, are you alright?” The man asked me kindly.

“Can you please turn around for a sec?” I politely asked the guy. The girl with her just looked at me weirdly and tapped his boyfriend’s shoulder to signal him to just follow my orders.

When the guy turned around, my mind totally made up a decision in a second thought that this guy could pass.

“I’m sorry but can I possibly ask a huge favor from you?! Please wear this jacket and just don’t mind when a big guy asks you if you have seen me! Please! You can save a life! I promise that I’m not the bad guy here!”I tried so hard to explain to them.

“Is this really a matter of a life and death situation?” The guy asked me.

“YES! PLEASE! HELP ME!” I pleaded.

“Okay, okay! I’ll help you!” The guy was also in panic.

“Thank you so much!” I almost shouted and gave him my jacket.

I immediately ran to the other direction so I would prevent the guy from seeing me.

“Wait!! You have tons of money left here!!” The guy shouted at me. I remembered that I placed some of my money at my jacket pocket. Good thing, I still have my wallet with me right now.

“That’s all yours! Thank you sooooo much!!” I shouted at them and ran as fast as I could.

I was trying to look for a place where I can temporarily hide so I can absolutely avoid that guy who was chasing after me.

Where to hide?! Where to hide?! My head was about to fall off because of the numerous turns it made.

Finally, I saw a girl who was entering the comfort room and she was totally alone. There was no line behind her and there were only a few people surrounding the comfort room. This might be a bad idea but I had no choice.

I ran towards the comfort room trying to make it before the girl closes the door. Don’t close the door!!!! Please!!  I put in all my effort in to running faster until I blocked the door with my feet.

“What the—“ The girl peeked through the small space which the blocking of my foot made.

“I’m sorry but this is a matter of a life and death situation and if you prevented me from going inside there with you, all the guilt will be on you if I die this way without even finding the love of my life, achieving all the goals that I have set, having a family of my own and proving to my parents that there is more to life than money.” I didn’t notice that I was blabbering nonsense.

The girl was totally dumbfounded. She was just staring at me like she saw a ghost.

“Uhh—okay fine! I don’t want to forever live with that guilt.” She opened the door and let me inside.

“Thank you so much!” I sighed in relief. The comfort room was totally small and it was dark because the light wasn’t .

“Are you near the switch of the light?” I asked the girl politely.

“Yeah, but I think the light’s broken. It won’t turn on.” She replied with a soft voice.

“I’m so sorry to bring you in this kind of mess. I hope you understand.” I explained.

“Don’t worry, it has been a long time since I have experienced this kind of adventure.” She explained.

Is this fate? Did I just found a girl who was also feeling the same way as I am? We were both looking for thrill and adventure. Even though we can’t see each other in this small and dark place, I knew that she was kind-hearted and understanding. Plus, I thought she was exceptionally beautiful when I was trying to persuade her to let me in.
