Chapter 5
A Fight & Love Of A MotherAs they were busy shopping for the little barbecue party later in the evening, a lady approached Nichkhun
They exchanged a few words before she excused herself and left, but the thing is, Victoria was fuming inside, could it possibly be the little encounter of the lady?
'Why should I be affected by it? I'm in no place to be fumed. We're in no relationship for me to feel this way' Victoria thought to herself
Finding every ingredient they need, they went to go pay. But as Kayla laid her eyes on ice cream, she begged her parents if they could by some
"How about we stop by the ice parlor and get ice there? Isn't it that better Princess? There's going to be more flavored there then here" Nichkhun suggested
"So at the ice cream parlor there will be green tea ice cream? Mommy, you know green tea ice cream is favorite" Kayla chirped
"Really? That's your favorite? You know baby, that's my favorite too!" Victoria said with a smile, Kayla looks at her wide eye
"We have the same favorite ice cream flavor Mommy? Wow, daebak!" says Kayla giving two thumbs up
"You know Mommy, Daddy has a different favorite ice cream flavor. He likes Vanilla. Did you know that Mommy?" Kayla asked
"Yes baby, I do know that." Victoria replies with a slight smile. Nichkhun only gave her a small grin
After paying for the things they have bought, they drove to the ice cream parlor. Usually when it's this time of the week, the place would be packed but today there was hardly any people
"Let's go Mommy! Daddy!" Kayla says as she opened the car door, stepping down.
"Wait for us Princess" Nichkhun said before also getting out of the car and walking towards the parlor
As soon as Nichkhun opened the door of the ice cream parlor, Kayla immediately ran to where they were serving ice cream
"Daddy! Daddy! There's Green Tea ice cream!!" Kayla said excitedly as she had her hand on the glass, pointing to it
Nichkhun as well as Victoria laughed at how Kayla was excited over seeing that they have ice cream that she wanted
After ordering and paying for the ice cream, they took a seat by the table and were happily eating the ice cream
"Oh it's so delicious!" Kayla said happily, wiggling her body due to the excitement
"Eat slowly baby. Don't get ice cream on your dress." Victoria said as she wipes Kayla's lips
"Your saying that to Kayla when you have ice cream on your lips." Nichkhun said with a small grin
"I do? Where?" Victoria asked, wiping her lips. But instead of wiping it off, it smeared. Nichkhun laughs a bit before taking the tissue and wipes it off himself
"Thank you" Victoria said as she was blushing a bit. Nichkhun nods and continues to eat
After finishing the ice cream, they left the parlor and headed home to prepare for the barbecue party
Victoria insisted to help carry the grocery bags but Nichkhun refused saying that it's alright, he can carry them
Victoria didn't want to argue back, so she just let him. Nichkhun told Victoria to head inside the house and get changed into more comfortable clothes
He handed the keys to Victoria and she left him with Kayla. They both headed to Kayla's and changed
"Mommy, do you have to go work tomorrow?" Kayla asked, as they walked to the living room
"I don't think so baby, why?" Victoria asked
"I want you to stay with me tomorrow. Daddy is working tomorrow and I don't want to stay with Nanny" Kayla said with a pout
"I can't promise you, baby. I'll have to see okay?" Victoria says, Kayla nods. Both walked to the kitchen after noticing that Nichkhun wasn't at the living room
"Yay! Samgyupsal! Mmm" Kayla said, rubbing her little tummy, causing Victoria and Nichkhun to burst in laughter
Washing the vegetables and everything else, all of them headed to the backyard, where the grill was at
Nichkhun started the grill and placed a few of the pork belly meat as well as other vegetables
"Wah, it's smells really good" Victoria said, taking in the aroma of the barbecue
After all the pork belly meat was cooked, they started to eat. As they were eating, Victoria noticed that Kayla was having a hard time using the chopsticks
"Like this baby." Victoria said as she showed Kayla how to place the chopsticks in her hands and demonstrating on how to pick up something
"Like this mommy?" Kayla said, Victoria smiles and nods. They were busy eating when Kayla suddenly said
"Daddy, you should put the meat into a wrap and feed it to me." Kayla suggested
Since Kayla wanted, Nichkhun had but do it. So he put the meat into a wrap and feed it to Victoria, he knows that it might be awkward for Victoria, even himself
"Mmm, it's delicious. Here baby, try it." Victoria as she also did the wrap, but when Victoria was going to feed it to Kayla, she backed away
"Give it to Daddy" Kayla simply said, Victoria sighed and eventually gave it to Nichkhun
Doing this, feeding each other with the wraps, it reminded Nichkhun of the very first date he had with Victoria back then
'Why those memories are suddenly coming back? Is this normal?" Nichkhun thought to himself as he continued to eat
They decided to stay at the backyard and let Kayla play on the miniature playground while Nichkhun and Victoria sat down, watching them
When Kayla left to the playground, being left alone, it created an awkward and weird atmosphere between Nichkhun and Victoria
It was quiet until Victoria decided to break the ice between the two, since she felt a bit uncomfortable
"Thank you." Victoria said, Nichkhun turned to her and looked at her confused
"Thank you for letting me spend the night here and letting me bond with Kayla. You did great raising her up. I can see that she's a Daddy's girl" Victoria elaborated
