Beijing's weather was anything but ideal. Breathing through the layers of thick smoke and pollution was a pain. It was uncomfortably hot and the blue sky was blocked by a layer of dull gray. The streets were crowded with people. Adults were yelling at their children who wandered too close to the bustling road. Cars honked at each other and there seemed to be a never ending traffic jam. People pushed and squeezed past each other without any word of apology. They were all in too much of a hurry to care. The city was so alive. Adjusting the surgical mask on his face, the dark-haired male sat at the table of a cafe by himself. His piercing gaze skimmed along the hundreds of different faces that flashed by.

Piercing screams could be heard from blocks away. A large crowd of people gathered at the front of a building, waving signs in the air and chanting her name. "Taeyeon! Taeyeon!" It was definitely a surprise that she was so popular even in another country. It was very difficult for models like her to grow such a huge fan-base. She was a rare case. Most non-Korean fans were screaming phrases at her in Mandarin. Others attempted to speak with broken Korean. The picture perfect model didn't waste any time interacting with her fans. Armed with security, her manager, and staff, Taeyeon was quickly ushered into the large studio. Saying that the fans were disappointed would be an understatement. Many looked devastated as they stared at the large glass doors to the building that they were forbidden to enter. The man dressed in all black watched the scene unfold without a single word. Shoving his hands into his pockets, he turned and left as the guards began shooing the dedicated fans away.

 That Night

"Finally," the tall brunette groaned. "I thought that we wouldn't ever stop." She had been complaining to her manager the whole way out the building.

"Taeyeon, this is what you signed up for," her manager replied, giving her a pointed glance.

"But Amber, the photographer was so picky! I think my feet fell asleep from all those weird poses." It was always humorous to see a poised Taeyeon whine and complain about her job.

She received an eye roll as a reply. "You're lucky they didn't choose for you to be an idol. You would be dead after the first practice."

Taeyeon had originally auditioned to be a singer and many companies scouted her back in South Korea. However, the rigorous training was too much for her so she opted out of each company before they made her a real idol. Becoming a model seemed a lot easier and she was glad that it gave her a more flexible schedule.

The model tsked and smacked Amber on the arm gently. "I am a very hard-working woman," she protested. "I could have made it but I was just too good for them."

Her short-haired manager smirked, opening the door of the black van. "You mean you were too lazy for them."

Taeyeon pouted slightly but her expression immediately brightened when Amber suggested that they get frozen yogurt. It was late at night but the city was still full of people and busy markets. They would have to drive to a less populated area if she wanted to enjoy her dessert in peace.

Thirty minutes later, her driver pulled up at an isolated little shop. The parking lot was relatively empty and the store didn't seem to get much business. Taeyeon was still disguised with a gray hoodie and surgical mask when they entered. She tried to keep her composure but the urge to leap with joy was overbearing. Frozen yogurt was not a part of her usual strict diet so it was one of those rare days where Amber was in a good mood and decided to cut her some slack. Taeyeon piled her strawberry yogurt with fruit, marshmallows, and rainbow sprinkles. She was so intrigued by the many flavors that the sound of the little bell of the store went in from one ear and immediately left the other.

"Do models usually eat so much?"

Taeyeon's head snapped up at the deep voice that spoke her native tongue. Her heart almost skipped a beat. The man standing in front of her was terribly handsome. As good-looking as her Yeollie (and maybe even more). She usually didn't interact with fans or strangers but he was just so... attractive. The way his black hair was styled enhanced his dark eyes and made her heart flutter slightly.

"W-well, even models have to treat themselves sometimes," she retorted, trying to sound more confident than she felt.

She couldn't help but notice how the veins on his arms stood out prominently as he squeezed chocolate frozen yogurt into his cup.

"You are Korean?" she asked, trying to sound like a normal human being. That proved to be pretty difficult since she rarely socialized with regular people.

"Yes, I live in Seoul. My hometown is Daegu," he replied nonchalantly.

There was an awkward pause as Taeyeon watched him scoop the chocolate chips into his cup. It was only a few seconds but the silence seemed to drag on forever. She had felt so attracted to someone in her entire life. Taeyeon never learned. Everytime she told herself that Sungyeol should be her one and only, she would meet someone else that she liked even more. "You're pregnant, Ms. Kim! Congratulations." She almost died on the spot when the doctor released the news to her. No way. Thankfully, it was still too early to show a baby bump and she still had time to fix things before Sungyeol finds out.

"Is Miss Popular here in Beijing for only a frozen yogurt?" Taeyeon was snapped out of her thoughts by the man's voice. There was a teasing tone as he spoke.

"Of course not!" She pretended to be offended. "I'm a very busy woman, you know? I came for extremely important work."

The stranger glanced at her with a small smile "Oh, I see," he mumbled. "I'm only here for vacation. I'll be leaving next Monday."

Taeyeon smiled widely. "Me too!" she squeaked. "Maybe we will be on the same flight. First class?" Her heart fluttered again when he nodded.

Weighing her cup on the scale, she gestured for Amber to pay. Her manager glanced at the new stranger and gave her a warning look but Taeyeon ignored it completely. She worked, worked, and worked all day. Sungyeol wasn't there so she needed a another source of affection. She liked this guy and he seemed to be exactly her ideal type. His clothing was mostly leather. His black skinny jeans were sinfully tight as he sported a neat haircut.

"What's your name?" she asked, gesturing for the stranger to sit in the seat across from her. It was a bit funny because the colorful little shop was filled with transparent yellow furniture. She was constantly reminded of how they looked like large children sitting in pre-school chairs.

The boy blinked at her for a second before breaking into a smile. "Choi Minjae," the ravenette replied. He held out a hand for her to shake. Taeyeon later swore that she felt sparks when his palm touched hers.

 A Week Later

It was barely three o'clock in the morning and the airport wasn't exactly the ideal place L wanted to be. He was glad that he would be departing Beijing soon, though. The messy city definitely was not his style and he couldn't wait to return to Seoul. Not to mention the fact that he was finally going to put his plan into action.

Beep. L's phone screen lit up to show that he had received a new message.

 From Taeyeon:

Oppa! (≧◡≦)  Ne ~ Where are you? I've arrived!!!

 Lord, the girl
