Beer and Meetings

Home-made Love

Occasionally I wonder what brought me to this point. It had to be the fact we were magically connected, or clumsy enough to bump into each other. Either way lets not seperate and hold each others hands over road bumps.

Bea stared at Taeyang shell-shocked, before she pointed at the chair. “Sit.” Taeyang jumped at the sudden English.

Beas walked passed the couch, into the kitchen that was situated behind a wall around the corner. She opened the fridge and dragged out a beer.

Stomping back into the living room, she glared at him. “Why haven’t you sat yet?”

He looked at her confused, before Bea rolling her eyes switched back to Korean. “Sit down, Taeyang.”

He nodded, watching as she walked over to the other side, and plopped down into a chair. Pulling the tab back, Bea took a swig of her drink.

Placing it on the den table, she turned her narrowed eyes to Taeyang.

“How did you get my recorder?” she asked first.

Quickly he went to explain, “I noticed your piano, and when I sat down I saw it at the corner, and when you caught me. I shoved into my pocket by accident.”

Nodding along with his story, she raised a hand, “So you’re saying you listened to all the songs on it.”

Taeyang nodded, “Yes, and so has my boss.”

For a moment they just stared at each other, before Bea leaned back her expression gob-smacked, “Wow, well I don’t know whether I should be angry, or impressed that my music attracted positive attention. So, when can I have it back?”

Taeyang winced at the question, “Well-, they have already decided to go with the songs.”

“What?” Bea leaned forward shaking her head, “They can’t. Those are private.”

Taeyang really didn’t want to notice how pained Bea looked, he covered by continuing. “It’s already begun, but they would like for you to be on the CD.”

“No.”

Taken aback at the vehement answer, Taeyang couldn’t help but ask why.

Bea narrowed her eyes, “Those songs were made for me, me, and me. I had no intention of ever letting them hit daylight. Because of you, they are now being dragged from the dark—.”

Midway through Bea groaned, and dropped her head into her hands, Taeyang then noticed that the tip of her ears were red.

Muttering into her hands, Taeyang could barely hear her long rant, but words like ‘Crazy’, ‘embarrassed’, and ‘the hell’ where spoken.

Raising her head, Beas reached up and pulled her scrunchy off, letting her hair down. Letting a nervous hand go through it, she sighed, “Why didn’t you just take the credit for it?”

Her eyes delved into his. Taeyang shrugged, “As a song writer myself, it would feel gross to take someone else’s work.”

Bea pouted, turning her eyes to the wall. Taeyang couldn’t help but feel that the chef was unaware of the amount of pure Aegyo she was giving off.

Bea muttered.

Taeyang shook his head, “I’m sorry I didn’t hear you.”

Bea faced him, her eyes narrowed, “I’ll meet your “Boss” but I don’t want to perform.”

Taeyang realizing what she’d said jumped up, feeling relieved he grabbed Bea’s hand surprising her, and with vigor shook it.

“Thank you. Thank you Nonna. I don’t know what the others would have done to me, if you had said no.”

Taeyang was surprised when her hand landed on his, he slowed down. Bea frowned at him, “I’m not your nonna,” She pulled her hand from his avoiding his eyes, “I’m younger than you I’m a 90’s baby.”

Taeyang stepped back, awkwardly he put his hands into his pocket. “Okay, well, I’ll send my driver over tomorrow so you can come by.”

Bea nodded, later she watched him go down the back stairwell and out of the alleyway.

Sighing she shut the door.

“HA-HA! You’re singing?”  Ebony was laughing so hard that Bea pulled the phone back.

Once it grew quiet she placed it back against her ear, Ebony choking laughter had died down, but her humor hadn’t. “So, the Pastor is definitely going to have something to say if you’re found out.”

Bea grimaced, it wasn’t like she didn’t already know that. “I know that, my supposed friend. But since I’m not actually preforming, it shouldn’t be a big deal. I mean c’mon does my father look like the man who would even know what ‘k-pop’ is?”

Ebony giggled, shh’ing someone in the back ground. “No he doesn’t and you are lucky for that.”

“See, even you know it’s unlikely for him to find out.” Bea maneuvered the pot she was boiling milk in to the side, and reached for the chocolate cubes in a silver dish.

“I’m going to walk in, grin and then dip.”

Ebony scoffed, “You are going to just ‘dip’ out of YG. Girl, are you kidding me, this is your chance to check out the headquarters of the so-called hip hop of Korea and you’re not going to snoop. Hmph.”

Bea rolled her eyes as she slowly stirred in the chocolate cubes, “Why would I even bother with that, K-pop is cool and all, but it won’t help my business if I get all in their business.”

Growling, Ebony grounded out, “Bea. You are going into the place of G.Dragon, and T.O.P. I demand—as you’re friend –a photo of Jiyoungie. It is my right.” She declared.

Finished stirring the chocolate in, Bea moved the pot to the stone topped Kitchen Island. And let it sit, adjusting the phone she laughed, “Ha-ha. This is why I never invite you when they come over to eat. You’d grab the pour guy and show him the Chicago ride, and he wouldn’t ever be the same.”

“Damn right! Everyone should try ‘Chicago’ at least once, and I gladly would show it all to GD.” Ebony crooned.

Bea shook her head incredulous, “You’re so nasty. I can’t with you.”

Ebony laughed, “Trust me, you can, but anyway tell me about this Taeyang guy, is he as short as they say he is?”

“Yep.” Bea answered simply, lifting the pot she poured the chocolate into a black mug, with cat eyes, “He’s short, but his charisma isn’t, he’s also not as, um, big…like in the video you made me watch.” Putting the pot down, Bea grabbed up the cup, “Hm, Ah it was ‘Wedding Dress’. I thought he was going to be really broad. Still—.”

She left off taking a sip, turning her eyes to photo gracing her wall, with Taeyang, Jiyoungie, and Seungri. “He does have something about him that pulls you in.”

“Wooo- somebody sounds like their falling in love.” Ebony taunted over the phone.

Bea almost drop the phone, “Girl, bye. I am not dumb enough to fall for one of those boys. Their sasaeng fans make Michael Jacksons cult look like teddy bears.”

Chuckling, Ebony agreed, “They sure do, anyway I have papers to grade, and a bed to date call me tomorrow after the event.”

Bea agreed and hung up the phone.

Staring at the wall she winced, it wasn’t that she didn’t think any of the male musicians or stars were hot. But…lets be real her father would love to have something to rant about. Dating an Asian would be only the beginning part of his rant.

Turning away from the picture wall, she headed to her bedroom.

Big-Bang were seated in the waiting room of the KBS T.V. studio when Taeyang walked in. Top and Daesung distractedly waved at him when he entered their eyes on the game Daesung was playing. Seurgri was getting his make-up done, while G.D. stood in the corner smiling at a text he’d just received.

“Osu, Hyung what took you so long?” Seungri asked, ignoring the stern look the make-up artist sent him.

Taeyang walked behind the screen, removing his regular clothes for his stage costume. “Nothing much, I had to stop by the Soul Food place.”

The silence after his remark, was punctuated by a sudden sound of feet, and the screen being jerked aside. Taeyang jerked back surprised his eyes wide, while his hands crossed in front of him.

“What?” Daesung said, his eyes intent, “Why would you have gone there?”

Top, eyes roamed the makeshift dressing room, “He obviously went and got food,” His eyes settled on Taeyang, a suspicious glint in them, “So where is the food?”

Taeyang, shocked, and little embarrassed hurriedly said, “I didn’t go for food. I went to ask the chef if she would meet with ‘Boss’.”

G.D. shoved Seungri aside, his eyes narrowed, “‘Boss’? You’re not saying the voice on the recorder was—.” He left off.

Taeyang nodded, “Yeah, I accidently grabbed it when I went into her room. The recorder you found was hers.”

The four men shared a look, before Seungri cried out, “I knew it,” he motioned towards Taeyang, “I knew the shy guy would ruin everything! He always does!”

With that he stomped off, Taeyang incredulous watched as the other members walked away from him. Top dropping the screen.

After he’d changed Taeyang came out only to be bombarded with questions.

“Why Tae? Why did you have to upset our cook?” Daesung wailed from the couch, as Top rubbed his back.

Slightly disgusted with the display Taeyang turned towards Seungri who glared at him, as the make-up artist went to her toes to try to finish the powdering.

“So, you’ve made our special, one-fat-day cook a singer. Thanks.”

Taeyang sighed rubbing a finger across his brow, “She’s only meeting the boss.” He turned slightly towards GD. “You understand right, Hyung?”

Glowering from where he sat on the table, GD muttered. Taeyang didn’t understand a word of it, but he felt like he’d been cursed.

Spinning to face Top, who seemed to be the only rational one, he asked. “Is it that serious if she doesn’t cook?”

“What?! Daesung sat up abruptly, he eyes narrowed, “I’m sure you didn’t just say, what I think you did.” Standing he glared down at Taeyang. “Two months ago, Boa from SM went there with a friend-.”

“Oh god!” Seungri exclaimed, turning his back from them, “The horror!”

Daesung nodded sadly, tears leaking out the corner of his eyes. “They got their food, and Boa-Boa complained, she sent the food back three times—! Three!”

He raised three in front of Taeyangs face. Taeyang slapped them away his face disgruntled, “And?”

“And?” Daesung turned bewildered eyes to Top, “The man says ‘And’, well Taeyang, the freaking sun. Chef-nim, kicked them both out and banned SM from coming there for a month. Three days in, me and Seungri had an event with SM entertainment.”

Seungri whimpered, as the make-up artist patted his back.

“The chef made us these lovely salad-to-go lunch boxes. With homemade raspberry dressing, it was lovely. But Seungri made the mistake of opening said box in the public waiting room.” Daesung paused for dramatic affect.

He covered his face with his hand, before slowly bringing it down. “Imagine, Taeyang, will you? Twelve starving super juniors, and six starving EXO members, chasing you down for a spoonful of salad.”

Seungri whipped around, falling to his knees in front of Taeyang, “They wouldn’t stop, I-I tried to get away,” He whispered harshly, his eyes wide and terrified, “but they kept coming, there was nothing left. Nothing!”

“Shh, Seungri, Shh” GD slowly helped the distraught Seungri up, throwing a glare over his shoulder at Taeyang, “He wasn’t there, he doesn’t know better.”

Seungri sobbed into his hands, “Why wasn’t he, where were you Taeyang? Where. Were. You-?”

Taeyang groaned, frustrated he drew a hand through his hair, “If I swear not to get you all banned from the restaurant. Will you calm down? She’s only meeting the boss nothing big, okay?”

Everyone’s expressions went from woeful, to bright smiles in no time. GD joined Taeyang by his side, and smiled, “We thank you for saving our favorite spot.”

Taeyang rolled his eyes, and followed them out of the room.

Bea stepped out of the van, looking around the parking lot. She could hear the screams of fans outside of the gate, patting down her skirt. She followed the manager into the building, and whistled. The interior was a nice match of tan and browns.

She noticed some awards on the wall, and pictures of musicians from YG.  Instead of being lead to the business area she was led towards the cafeteria, stopping when she smelled what had to be chicken stew. She felt her stomach bubble.

Forcing herself to continue on, she was led to a room that read ‘private’. The manager pushed the door opened, bowing slightly to him she walked inside.

Seven eyes turned to face her, inwardly cringing at all the attention she raised a hand, “Hey.”

Seungri was the first to jump up, his eyes roving over the cook. “Bea-nonna, you’re- you are pretty?”

Bea tilted her head, “Am I?” she patted her skirt, “I was told to dress up for this wedding later.”

Seungri went to stand only to feel to hands pull him back down. He shot glares at Top, and Daesung who sat on both sides of him.

Bea pretended not see it, and walked forward to take a seat next to GD.  He smiled at her, and motioned towards the empty seat to his right. “Taeyang is upstairs, he’ll come down with the boss-.”

The door opening cut his comment short, when a harassed looking Taeyang, and Boss walked into the room.

The “Boss” walked towards the front, and gracefully took a seat. His smirking face made Bea think of  the Cheshire cat.

Taeyang plopped down next to GD muttering, he quieted when the “Boss” started talking.

“I listened to some of you music on the recorder,” the “Bosses” smiled widened, “It was very good, but in English.” He motioned across the room, “As you can tell these boys are korean, but I know I don’t want to lose you’re talent, so Taeyang reps and I decided to ask if you would like to rework the song into a Korean one.”

Bea kept her self-seated. She didn’t want to fall over in her heels, or crack her knee against the table in a dance of excitement.

“U-umm, hrm.” She cleared facing the “Boss” seriously, “Which song were you interested in re-mastering?”

The “Boss” laid a phone on the table, and after pressing a few times, a cooing voice filled the room.

And Bea stared at the phone, her vision tunneling.

Everyone was captured by the lyrics, their eyes closing as they listened to the words.

I love you

Despite my hate, I want you

Tired of faking

Tired of lying

I want you, baby

I need you

So kiss me sweetly

One more time

~~Aoife

Bea forced herself not to move, she forced herself not to. Everything in her wanted to snatch up the phone and toss it out the window. She wanted to smash it to bits. The one song she’d didn’t want anyone to hear was playing.

“Bea?”

Moving her eyes from the recorder, she met the worried eyes of GD. He placed a hand over hers and asked, “Are you okay?”

She nodded, moving her hands from under his she motioned towards the “Boss”.  “That’s enough, I’ll work with you on this song but-.”

Taeyang watched as Bea was lead out of the room by the Boss. His hands in his pockets he slouched, “I wonder why she wants to sing on it? She didn’t seem willing before.”

GD stood, his hands as usual pulling out his phone, and responding to text. “Does it matter, it will make everything easier on you.”

Daesung and Top stood, following GD’s example, but both making their way to the door. Daesung paused, and whipped around, his finger pointed at Taeyang, “Do not get us banned, that is you’re only mission.”

He jabbed his finger one more time at Taeyang, before he walked out.

Once everyone left, each leaving a warning of some kind. Taeyang felt his phone vibrate.

Reaching into his pocket, he pulled it out, and checked it out. He frowned seeing the name, “Chun-i.” He mouthed

Opening it, he felt his body freeze.

Tae-hyung,

Did you know that Bae-nonna was getting married? I just got the Text.

Crazy man, she’s marrying some guy from japan.

Rage coursed through his veins, Taeyang stood and threw the phone with all his might at the wall. The phone shattered against it with sharp crack, falling to floor in pieces.

Marching out of the room, Taeyang cursed slamming the door behind him.

Bea paid the taxi man, and headed up the stairs towards her apartment above the restaurant. Opening the door, she sighed as she took off her shoes. She hated shoes, she hated how they confined her feet. Toeing them over into the corner, she padded across her living room. Tossing her purse on the table, her jacket soon following.

Groaning she stretched her arms above her head, dropping them she then opened her fridge and took out the small carton of banana milk.

Opening it, she chugged it down, gasping, she pulled it from her lips and continued to her bedroom.

Jumping on her bed, she leaned against the wall. Thanks to her experience all day, she’d been stuck on daydream mode, she’d been nearly knocked out at the flower catching.

As far as relationships go, she’d never really had a bad one, or more so she’d never taken the step to have one. Still, for them to pick the one song that had been written by her brother.  She shook her head, he would probably be happy to know that the one song he’d written for the man he loved would be sung by her.

She shook her head, muttering to herself, “Move one, Bea, move on.”

She sat her milk carton on the side table, and went into the bathroom.

Twenty minutes later refreshed, and seating in front of the T.V. Bea jumped when she heard banging on her door.

Grumbling she got up, and walked over to the telecom, pressing the button she asked, “Who is it?”

She could see on the screen it was two males, one was holding the other whose head was sagging.

“Nonna, H-Help, Aish.”

The tall man struggled under other man’s weight. Confused, Bea pushed the button again, “Li, what are you doing here? Who is that you’re carrying?”

Li, groaned, “Nonna, it’s Tae-hyung, he was drinking and almost started a fight at the club. I was the only one who recognized him, Nonna, ugh, he’s heavy can you let me in?”

Bea, pulled away from the telecom and opened the door, only for Taeyang to fall off Li’s shoulder and land in a heap at her feet.

Bea stared down at the R&B star and shook her head, turning her eyes to Li, “What do you want me to do with it?”

To be continued…

Chapter 7: This story is so great! I feel more in the know now that I know Taeyang's relationship with that other girl. Your writing is so good and it makes reading this so much better alongside the great plot. I really like seeing Bea with the rest of the BB members and how they fawn over her food. And I like the thought of her cooking and make them be her guinea pigs. This is just all around too cute~

Chapter 2: I am loving this story. Some information about your character.
Taeyang is how you spell his name. Taeyang means sun(universe wise). If you spell it
Tae-young there is a different meaning behind the name. I just wanted to let you know. Stay inspired. I can't wait to see how your story develops.
