Korean news sites almost crashed with the revelation. Everyone is racing to make an article about the situation. Many are trying to reach the agencies and the person involved, to no avail. The TV show, FOODIE, acquired an all-time high rating because people switched networks in order to watch, and the topics: DARA, KIM JAEJOONG, SANDARA, and JAEDARA, immediately became trending topics.

There were a mix of both positive and negative backlash, especially for the succeeding days after the show. Official statements were released  by both companies, as well as by both Dara and Jaejoong in their respective social media account.

‘We hope to get your support,’ was the direct and simple caption.

Some fans expressed their support as this fulfilled their wish of their respective idols finally marrying. Others were rather disappointed because of difference in opinions regarding their idol’s should be partner. But all of these were put aside and ignored by the couple in favour of their own happiness. You can say that it is quite selfish on their part, but humans, most especially idols whose whole life was dictated, has the right to be selfish from time-to-time, right?

Despite the revelation of their relationship, the two still remained carefully private with their lives. There were occasional fan sightings of them going out together, with friends and family, and of course, pictures posted in Instagram by their family and the couple themselves.

It took a year more before the engagement and
