“What?!” Jiyong almost shouted at her.

She flashed a faint smile and reached for his hands.  “I’m pregnant. We’ll be having a baby Ji. You wanted to be a father right? You want a family.” 

Jiyong shook his head and withdrawed his hands. “No. This can’t happen. I want to build a family with Chaerin and not with you.”

Kiko’s smile faded as she held her tummy slowly. “Ji. We’re having a baby.”

“You’re playing games again Kiko. Don’t lie to me again. Leave us alone.” he glared at her.

The girl shook her head. She reached inside her bag and she handed him the pregnancy test. “Here’s the prove. I’m not lying Ji. I’m serious. I have been feeling unwell for a week now. The doctor said I’m 2 weeks pregnant.” Jiyong held the tool and he felt his heart sank. It indicates positive. She is indeed pregnant. He stared at the tool for a long time, letting the new problem sink in his head.

“What is the meaning of this?” Chaerin suddenly asked. Jiyong turned his head and saw her gaze fixed on the thing on his hand.

“Chae...”

“I’m pregnant with his child.” Kiko butted in Chaerin gulped and looked at him who only looked down. She shook her head and went out the restaurant.

“Chae!” he dropped the thing and followed Chaerin. He ran after her and grabbed her on the wrist. “Chae wait...” he made her face him and he felt his heart break again. Tears are forming on her beautiful face. He touched and her cheeks gently.“Chae.. We’ll solve this problem.. I won--” 

She shook her head and put his hands down. “No Ji. She’s pregnant. I don’t want the child to be fatherless because of me.”

“Were not yet sure if it’s true or if I’m really the father of the child. What if she had with other guys?”

“She has been my friend Ji. She may be a flirt but she is not that kind of girl who s with any guy. She loves you Ji and you did it with her. Ji, I think we are not really for each other. Maybe it’s better if we just brea---”

“No! Chae no! I won’t agree to that. What if this is one of her plan? We promised Chae. I’ll figure this out.Just please...trust me.” he pulled her and hugged her tight. She is his world. He can’t bear the idea of breaking up again.

That night, Jiyong stayed at his balcony. Staring at the beautiful view of Seoul as he hold a glass of beer. The image of Chaerin crying earlier flashed in his mind and it made him feel frustrated and useless. I can’t even protect my girlfriend. I keep on hurting her but I can’t bear
