Saturday November 14^th – Fan meeting

 

Victoria arrived at Baekam Art Hall at 7:00 PM. She was there along with about 300 other people, most of them were women, but there were many males in attendance as well. Some were younger and some were older, but most of them came with a handmade signs, placards or an LED signs with either Nichkhun’s name or his picture plastered on it. All of them were in a cheery, giddy mood. They were all smiling, chatting to each other excitedly. She could understand their excitement though. It was Nichkhun’s second fan meeting, which he hadn’t had one in over 5 years. She texted Nichkhun to let him know that she had arrived and joked to him that most of his fans were ahjummas and only a few of them were in their twenties, and she told him that he might need to reconsider his popularity among the younger female population of South Korea. He texted back telling her that if he wanted to he could have worked his magic and any living heteroual female of all age range wouldn’t be able to resist his charms. Victoria giggled at his replied and texted him back telling him that she couldn’t wait to see him on stage.

 

The fan meeting was scheduled to start at 7:30 PM and since there was sometimes left she started wandering over to check out all the boards in front of the hall displaying Nichkhun’s previous works, his accomplishments, his pictures, his biography and that sort of thing. When it was time, the door of the hall finally opened and fans rushed to get inside the hall to their respective seats. She walked into the hall holding her ticket and an usher came over and showed her her seat which was right in the middle of the fifth row….perfect seat to see the stage. She waited eagerly just like any of his fans for the fan meeting to begin and a few minutes later the lights in the hall grew dimmed. The MC appeared on the stage bowing to the fans and began his little introduction to the event and a few minutes later he introduced the star of the evening, Nichkhun

 

“Please give a warm welcome to our most beloved actor…..Nichkhun Horvejkul!!!” said the MC

 

Loud cheers and screams erupted in the hall. Fans began to wave their homemade signs and placards in the air as Nichkhun walked out on stage looking extremely handsome in his simple black tee and dark denim and a casual dark gray jacket with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. Nichkhun walked out smiling his perfect smile waving to his fans and bowing to them. Victoria couldn’t believe her eyes. He looked absolutely beautiful. He looked confident, playful, cute and very very handsome.

 

Nichkhun walked over to the middle of the stage and stood next to the MC and introduced himself

 

“Hello everyone. I’m Nichkhun Horvejkul….Thank you so much for coming here tonight” said Nichkhun and bowed to his fans

 

Fans screamed and clapped their hands at his simple self-introduction.

 

“Wow….just a simple introduction and fans still screamed this loud…Nichkhun-sshi how do you feel tonight?” asked the MC

 

“I feel really happy to be here tonight…I missed my fans…I haven’t had a fan meeting in over 5 years and I’m a little bit nervous right now, but I’m extremely happy though” said Nichkhun and smiled brightly and again fans screamed their heads off at his answer….including Victoria. She figured if there was a time and place that she could express her love for him in a fangirl like manner this would be it. She could scream at his every word to her heart’s content and no one would mind, after all it was not only acceptable, but expected of her to support him at his fan meeting.

 

The fan meeting proceeded on with a little interview. The MC asked him a series of questions about his previous work, his current jobs, his future projects and things of that nature. After the interview it was time for Nichkhun to answer questions from the fans. Some were hilarious questions like has he ever thought of t his eyebrows? To which he replied not in a million years. Another fan asked if he was turned into a woman for a day what would he do? and his replied was he wouldn’t want to be turned into a woman because then he wouldn’t be able to protect the woman that he love. The next question came from a woman in her 40’s who asked

 

“What song would you sing to the woman that you love and what would you say to her?” asked the woman

 

Nichkhun’s eyes immediately went to Victoria. He smiled and looked at her and answered

 

“If I have a woman that I love, I would sing her this song call “Somebody”…It’s an old song, but I think it’s one of the most romantic songs I’ve ever listen to”

 

 “Could you sing us that song?” asked the same woman and fans began to cheer and screamed and clapped their hands to encourage him to sing the song

 

Nichkhun let out a chuckled, but got up anyway. He stood up looking at Victoria as he began to sing

 

“I want somebody to share

Share my innermost thoughts

Someone who’ll stand by my side

And in return she’ll get my support

She will listen to me

When I want to speak

Though my views may be wrong

Nichkhun raised his hands up and touched the crown of his head to indicate an “I love you” sign for Victoria. The MC then asked what would he say to her after he sing her this song, to which he replied

 

“I would tell her that everyone wants to have someone like that, but few ever tries to be that somebody for someone else so I’ll promise to be that somebody for her and I hope that we could always be that somebody for each other” said Nichkhun

 

Fans screamed in their excitement and some clapped their hands, some cooed at the sight of Nichkhun singing a romantic love song and his answer, but one fan cried. Victoria cried because she was happy. She cried because she knew he sang that song for her. She cried because he had promised to support her, to listen to her and to love her

 

After the Q&A session from the fans, the fan meeting went on with a little game between fans and Nichkhun and then after the game was over it was time for Nichkhun to pick one lucky fan who would get to spend an entire day with him. The MC brought out a black box which contains all the seat numbers for Nichkhun to pick. Nichkhun put his hand inside the box and took out a piece of paper and handed it to the MC who announced the lucky fan

 

“And the luckiest fan who will get to spend a whole day with Nichkhun tomorrow is….fan with the seat number 22 row 5!!!!” said the MC and the spot light immediately went crazy trying to spot the lucky fan who turned out to be none other than Victoria

 

The spot light stopped and shown on her while everyone in the hall clapped their hands to congratulate her for being so lucky. Victoria was shocked that she was picked. She couldn’t help but thought that some sort of divine intervention was at work there. She stood up and bowed to those around her as a form of thank you

 

After the announcement the fan meeting went on with an autograph signing session and it was over. Victoria met Nichkhun behind the stage as part of the arrangement for tomorrow’s date. She went into his waiting room where he was sitting there alone. Nichkhun immediately got up and gave her a hug

 

“Hi honey….did you have fun tonight?” asked Nichkhun smiling and fixing her hair

 

“Yes, I did Khun….I had a great time! And can you believed it I was picked as the lucky winner!!! That was amazing!...I couldn’t believe it” said Victoria all giddy and excited

 

“Hmmm actually I could….hehehe I pulled a little trick honey….there was only one seat I could have picked inside that box and it was yours….I had replaced all the other seat numbers with yours so no matter which paper I picked, it would be you honey…hehehe” said Nichkhun smiling and wiggling his eyebrow at her

 

“No you didn’t!!! I can’t believe you did that!!!! That’s awful to your fans Khun!!!” said Victoria gaping and shocked

 

“But I don’t want to spend a whole day on a date with anyone else but you honeeyyy” said Nichkhun pouting a little

 

“But still Khun….those fans they’ve supported you and they deserve a chance to spend their time with you” said Victoria in a reprimanding tone

 

“But what if it turns out that I’d have to spend a date with an old ahjumma who has 40 cats and she wants me to visit her at her house and I end up spending the whole day listening to her talk about her cats?? Or worse! She could kidnap me and lock me up and you’ll never see me again??” said Nichkhun with a pretended horror expression

 

“Oh my god…since when did you turn into such a drama queen? Hahaha....but still Khun I feel guilty for taking away the chance for one of your fans to get to spend time with you” said Victoria looking guilty

 

“Don’t be honey….they’re my fans, they should want what’s best for me, what makes me happy….and what makes me happy is you” said Nichkhun and hugged her

 

“You make me happy too” said Victoria hugging him back

 

“So what should we do tomorrow?? We have a whole day to do anything you want honey…hehehe” said Nichkhun smiling brightly

 

“Actually….there is a place that we should go” said Victoria smiling her radiant smile

Sunday November 15^th

 

Victoria woke up early to get ready and at exactly 8 AM the doorbell rang. Victoria quickly grabbed her bag and a bouquet of white lilies and quickly headed out. Nichkhun was waiting in front of the house and opened the door for her and a few minutes later he drove off towards the expressway and about an hour into the drive they had arrived at Bundang Memorial Park. Victoria got out of the car and took Nichkhun’s hand and started walking along a pathway with trees lining the way. Victoria seemed calmer that day. They walked without saying a word to each other. They continued to walk up the hill until Victoria stopped at the two headstones sitting adjacently under a giant nutmeg tree facing out onto the vast hill and clear blue sky. Victoria knelt down in front of the two headstones and put the bouquet of white lilies down in front of them and said

 

“Hi daddy, hi mommy….How are you guys doing up there?.....I really really miss you” said Victoria trying to hold back tears that started to form in her eyes while gently rubbing the headstones with her hands to remove dirt from them

 

Nichkhun stepped in closer to her and knelt down beside her and wrapped his arm around her shoulder

 

“Do you miss me daddy?....I missed those days when we take Erummie out for walks….he’s so big now too….I missed our movie marathon nights together where you forced me to watch old Hollywood movies….and I missed you too mommy….I missed your home cooked meal….I missed having you helped combed my hair in the morning before I go to school….I missed helping you plant those flowers in the garden…..I missed you guys so much” said Victoria in a shaking voice

 

Nichkhun immediately pulled her in for a hug

 

“Shhh don’t cry honey….they probably don’t want to see you cry” said Nichkhun against her hair trying to console her

 

Victoria nodded her head and smile a little as a sign that she agreed with what he just said

 

“Mommy, daddy there’s someone I want you to meet” said Victoria and turned to look at her boyfriend smiling brightly

 

“This is the man that I love….I want you guys to meet him…You know him right mom?....You used to say he was handsome remember?....And daddy stop with the angry face I know you’re only pretending to look tough…I love him very much…he makes me happy” said Victoria smiling brightly at Nichkhun

 

Nichkhun smiled his bright smile at the conversation she just had with her parents. He bowed to the two headstones in front of him and said

 

“Hello Mr. and Mrs. Song…my name is Nichkhun Horvejkul…..I am head over heels in love with your daughter and I promise you that I will treasure her, take care of her and love her always so you don’t have to worry about her” said Nichkhun while smiling and looking straight into her eyes

 

Tears were falling onto her cheeks, but it wasn’t a sadness tears, it was a happy tears. Victoria felt as though she had actually brought Nichkhun home to introduce him to her parents. Even though her parents were no longer in this world, she still felt nervous about this meeting, but she was happy. She knew that if they were still alive they would have loved him too, not because he was Nichkhun the famous actor, but because he was the man that she loved. They would have been happy for her

 

“Khun can I have a moment alone with my parents?” asked Victoria

 

“Of course honey….I’ll be right there if you need me” said Nichkhun and kissed her forehead

 

“Goodbye Mr. and Mrs. Song…it was nice meeting you and please gives us your blessings and I will keep the promises that I made with you” said Nichkhun and then bowed and got up and walked over and stood not too far from their graves, but enough for Victoria to have her privacy

 

“What do you guys think about him?...Mom do you like him?...How about you dad?........I admit it’s been hard, we have to keep our relationship a secret and it’s been kind of hard to go on a date like normal people, but I’ll take it……….I’ll take it all if I can only be with him……..I remember what you told me mom about finding someone that I love and spending my life with him..….well I’ve found him mommy and I do want to spend my life with him…please look after us ok?...I’ll come visit you guys again soon……I love you so much” said Victoria and gave each of her parents’ headstone a kiss before getting up and walked over to Nichkhun

 

Nichkhun immediately wrapped his arms around her when she was in his arm’s length and gave her a kissed on her cheek

 

“Are you ready for our date honey?” said Nichkhun with a wide smile

 

“Yes I’m ready” said Victoria smiling back at him

 

“Ok let’s go then! Lotte world here we come!!” exclaimed Nichkhun as they started walking back to the car

 

It was 10 AM when they arrived at Lotte World. There weren’t that many people there yet since it was quite early on a Sunday morning. Nichkhun was wearing the usual disguises, a hat, a mask and a sunglasses tucked at the collar of his t-shirt. Nichkhun went to purchase the admission tickets for himself and Victoria and proceeded inside the park. Once inside Victoria immediately grabbed Nichkhun’s hand and half running and half dragging him until she finally stopped in front of the first ride she wanted to play which was The Conquistador. Victoria turned to face him with a wide grin on her face while still pointing towards the ride in front. Nichkhun immediately stopped dead in his track. Even under all those disguises Victoria could tell that his face was full of horror at the sight of the ride in front of him. Nichkhun turned to looked at Victoria, couldn’t utter a word and Victoria simply smiled and said

 

“Oh yes! We are getting on that ride!...hehehe come on that giant ship is calling us!!” said Victoria and immediately dragged Nichkhun towards the ticket booth

 

Nichkhun was sitting on a bench with his head hung low, panting a little. He felt dizzy and needed to sit down and catch his breath. Victoria was sitting next to him with a worried looked on her face holding his hand in hers. They had just gotten off from The Conquistador and needless to say Nichkhun wasn’t feeling that “thrill” from the thrill ride that they were just on. Victoria was all giddy and excited when they finally got on to their seats, but Nichkhun was the complete composite, he was extremely nervous. It didn’t help much either that Victoria chose to sit at the rear as that was the seats with the maximum thrill for the ride. As the giant ship began to swing back and forth Victoria immediately let go of her hands from the railings and screamed at the top of her lungs. Nichkhun on the other hands held on the railings for dear life. He didn’t utter a single word throughout the whole ride

 

After a few minutes Nichkhun felt better and well enough to continue with their date. Victoria felt sorry for him so she let him choose the next ride they would play. Nichkhun immediately smiled and grabbed Victoria’s hand and took her to The Camelot Carrousel. Victoria let out a chuckled once she realized which ride they would play next

 

“This is the ride you want to play….A fairytale carrousel?” said Victoria smiling teasingly at her boyfriend

 

“Yes I do! You’ll be the princess on a white horse and I’ll be the prince!...come on let’s go!” said Nichkhun excitingly

 

They proceeded to the ticket booth and bought the tickets for the ride and got on. Victoria got on one of the wooden horse while Nichkhun stood next to her and took out his mobile phone and began taking pictures of Victoria on the white wooden horse and pictures of them together. After the fairytale ride it was Victoria’s turn to choose the next ride again and Victoria immediately took Nichkhun to the outdoor part of the park called Magic Island which housed some of the most jaw dropping of thrill rides. Nichkhun stopped and turned to face her and even without saying a word Victoria knew what he was actually saying

 

“Are you seriously going to make me go on these kinds of rides again??” thought Nichkhun

 

“Oh come on Khun…You need to play them so you can get better…trust me ok…hehehe” said Victoria smiling brightly and holding his hand as a form of comfort

 

Nichkhun couldn’t argue with his girlfriend, he knew he’d never win so he simply gave in to her demands

 

“Ok, ok, ok…let’s go then” said Nichkhun trying to sound cheerful

 

Victoria was elated. She jumped up and wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him as a form of gratitude. She let him pick the ride that they were going to play next among the three she had chosen. Gyro Drop, Gryo Swing or Bungee Drop. Nickhun examined each of the rides to see how it worked and turned to his girlfriend and said

 

“Honey I love you with all my heart, but there is no way in hell I’m going on that Gyro Swing…I’ve had enough swinging for today….and the Bungee Drop is a no no too…it drops and goes back up and drops again and again…I’ll take the Gyro Drop then…at least it only drops once” said Nichkhun with a determination in his voice like someone who had made up his mind on a very important life decision

 

Nichkhun wasn’t sure that he had picked the right ride to play. In fact he was sure of it. He thought that dropping 70 meters in 2 seconds would mean that it would be over quickly, but he was wrong…completely wrong to be exact. Sitting 70 meters up in the air waiting to be plunged towards the earth wasn’t exactly exciting for Nichkhun, but he was still glad that it was now over and that he was safely back on the ground. He looked over at his girlfriend who was enjoying every second of their date and he had to laugh. She was having so much fun like a little kid in a candy store. Her eyes lit up at every rides, every sound, every sight and every smell they encountered. He couldn’t help himself and reached out and pinched her nose out of love and affection

 

After lunch they continued on with their date. Victoria wanted to go to The Haunted House and Nichkhun knew better by now than to refuse, he agreed and went to buy the tickets for them. They entered the haunted house and proceeded to take their seat immediately Victoria grabbed hold of Nichkhun’s arm and glued herself to him. Nichkhun had to laugh at Victoria’s expression. Her eyes were bulging, she kept looking left, right, up, down and backward anticipating something or someone to jump at her while holding on to his arm for dear life. Nichkhun’s initial fear of the haunted house was completely gone once he had seen Victoria’s panic expression. As the car was moving further inside the haunted house lights flickered above them, sounds of thunder blazed out. Victoria could see a long corridor in front of her with the wall adorn with pictures on her right and a wall clock that ran backwards. As the car moved through the corridor suddenly a picture fell down causing Victoria to scream and hugged Nichkhun even tighter. Just as the car was about to exit the room suddenly a corpse fell down from above and again Victoria screamed her lungs out

 

“Khun…I’m scare!!” said Victoria closing her eyes burying her face in his chest

 

“Don’t be scare honey…I’m right here….Just close your eyes ok…it will be over soon” Nichkhun whispered in her ears and proceeded to hugged her even tighter

 

The ride went on through several more rooms until finally it was over. During the whole ride Victoria barely opened her eyes, but just the sound of things were enough to make her screamed several times. Nichkhun and Victoria walked out from the haunted house with Victoria still clinging to his arm for dear life. Nichkhun chuckled at her and told her to sit down at the nearby bench when he went to get her something to drink. Nichkhun came back with an apple juice for Victoria and Coke for himself

 

“Hahaha…look at you…how was it honey? Did you like the haunted house?? Actually did you manage to see anything inside at all? Hahaha” said Nichkhun teasing her and began to laugh

 

Victoria shot him a deadly glare and retorted

 

“Aishh…I didn’t think it would be “that” scary!...If I had known that it would be this scary I would never have suggested that we play it…aishh did you enjoy seeing me scare to death that much??” said Victoria annoyed

 

“Hahaha actually yes…hahaha” said Nichkhun and continued to laugh

 

Victoria immediately turned around from him and crossed her arms pouting.

 

“Awww I’m just kidding honeyyy” said Nichkhun tucking at her arm

 

“No! I’m mad at you now” said Victoria pretending to be mad at him

 

“Awww I’m sorry honeeyyy…what do you want me to do??...I’ll do anything you want” said Nichkhun smiling and trying to cheer her up

 

“Anything??” said Victoria tilting her head and face him with a mischievous smile on her face

 

“Yes anything” said Nichkhun smiling back at her

 

“Ok…I want you to do something silly right here and right now” said Victoria

 

“Here?...Now?” said Nichkhun confused

 

“Yes” replied Victoria

 

“Ok, ok, ok” said Nichkhun

 

He got up and took out his mobile phone and an earphone. He plugged the earphone into the phone and put one earphone in Victoria’s ear and the other in his. He held Victoria’s hand and pulled her up, pressed a button on his phone and suddenly Humming Urban Stereo’s Hawaiian Couple started to play. Nichkhun started swaying his shoulder back and forth to the beat of the music and then started adding more moves to his dance by stepping to the left and right. Victoria started giggling at his dorkiness, but Nichkhun’s dancing prowess didn’t end there. He suddenly started hopping to the right and wiggling his behind at the beat of the music, then hopped back to the left and wiggled his again and continued his wiggling dance for her. Victoria started laughing at his dancing skill or lack thereof. His dancing steps reminded her of Donald Duck’s infamous wiggling and that was absolutely endearing to her. People around them started to take notice of Nichkhun and his weird dancing moves, but he didn’t care. He continued to dance to the song, he gave her his infamous winks and blew kisses towards her. Victoria was smiling from ear to ear at her dorky boyfriend who would do anything to make her happy even if it meant making a fool of himself in public. After showing a few of his dorky dance moves Nichkhun stopped and suddenly wrapped his arms around Victoria engulfing her and pulled out her earphone and whispered

 

“I am head over heels in love with you Victoria Song” said Nichkhun sweetly in her ear

 

Victoria smiled looked up into his eyes and said

 

“I told you to do something silly not something incredibly cute” said Victoria smiling her radiant smile and tip-toed up and wrapped her arms around his neck and said to him

 

“I am head over heels in love with you too”

PS. I really love this song “Somebody” by Depeche Mode, It’s a really old song from the 80’s, but I think it’s one of the most romantic songs out there. I put this song in this chapter for two reasons. First, because it fits the story and the characters. Second, because I like the meaning of this song, to have somebody who will support you, listen to you yet strong enough to have their own opinion, understand you and love you. I think everybody wants somebody like that, but few ever tries to be one so I hope that every one of you would find your “somebody” and be “somebody” to someone someday (and yes, I do wish the same thing for Khun and Vic too hehehe ^__^)
