Epilogue
Long distanceNYC 3 months later
“The view is beautiful from up here” she says to me as I embrace her on top of the Empire State Building. This is it. This is the moment where I put my heart on my sleeve and hope to God she takes it. She loves me. She won’t reject me. If I keep saying that maybe, just maybe, I won’t puke on myself and embarrass us both. “Do you love it enough to want to marry me and move here?” I ask her turning her in my arms and kneeling at her feet. I have a ring I blew 500,000 USD on that would look beautiful on her finger. Only her finger.
“What?” she looks confused. Did I say that in English or Korean?
“I am head over heels in love with you. I want to spend my life with you. Will you marry me? I am opening a new branch of my company here in New York and I will live here. Will you be my wife and live in New York with me?”
“YES! OH MY GOD! I love you so much!” she screams pulling me off the ground before I could even get the ring on her finger. Dreams do come true and love at first sight does exist. Long distance relationships can work if you work at them.
