Part 3 - Mutual Feelings

Nightly Fool

"Cheers!" My band members and I all said, clinking our beers together. Well, Jin Mo and Ji Tae both had coke, as they were under the legal drinking age. I took a few gulps before setting down my alchohol on the restaurant's long table.

We had just finished our last concert in China, and we had been surprised by how fast tickets had sold out. It was great to know that, even in countries outside of Korea, we were so loved.

Hyun Jae was now hoping we could promote in Japan during our next comeback, though I wasn't too sure we would. I expected if we did promote in Japan, it would be in a year or so, after we were no longer considered a rookie group.

We were going to sleep at our hotel tonight, before waking up early to catch our flight back to Korea. Though, since most of the hotel's rooms were booked, and our manager didn't want to waste money on going to another hotel, we had two people to a room. The only problem with that was that the rooms had one bed each. Only 4 of our members were spared from sharing their beds.

~

When Hyun Jae and I went back to our hotel room, I was, once again, drunk. Hyun Jae, for the second time, led me into our room. I dropped onto our bed, sprawled out horizontally, taking up the entire huge bed, while my long legs were hanging off the sides.

Hyun Jae sighed, pulling off my shoes, and helping me get my sleepwear on. While he was in the middle of helping me change my shirt, he paused a moment. His breath seemed to hitch while his eyes were on my bare torso, but I, extremely drunk, of course did not notice at the moment.

"You won't remember anything tomorrow, right, Min Ki hyung?" The younger boy mumbled, before slowly leaning towards me.

His lips touched mine.

~

I woke up, my head hurt like mad and my throat was dry. I sat up with a groan, rubbing my forehead.

Slowly, I relived what happened the previous night in my head. I did not have that great of a memory, though I practically always seemed to remember what happened while I was drunk.

Hyun Jae kissed me.

Did he like me back? Was it another dream?

That must be it. My dreams are too imaginative...

I picked up the cup of water that had been on the table next to my bed, looking at the clock as I put the cold glass on my lips. It was 6:00 AM and I had half of an hour to get ready before we left for the airport. I sighed before tilting the glass upwards, downing the entire thing.

Hyun Jae was in the shower, and I could hear the water running in the bathroom.

I began to get dressed, deciding I would shower when I got back to Korea. We had a fan meeting later, but it wasn't until quite a bit after we returned from China.

I was checking SNS on my phone when Hyun Jae got out of the shower.

His hair was still wet, and he wore only his towel.

"What happened last night?" I asked casually, not wanting to ask about the kiss, which was most likely a dream, once again.

"Nothing much, you got drunk, I brought you back here, you passed out." He said, rummaging his suitcase for clothes. I could notice a slightly nervous tone to his voice.

"By any chance, did you..."

"Did I what, hyung?" He seemed to be a bit pale, biting his lip.

I stood up slowly, setting my phone on my bed, and walking towards him.

I mustered up the courage to ask him. If he said he didn't, then I'd just say it must have been an absurd dream.

"Did you... kiss me last night?" I asked softly.

Hyun Jae dropped the clothes, wide eyed. "I-I'm sorry hyung..."

He did. It really happened.

I moved forward, gently but quickly pushing him against the wall.

It took me a moment, to pull myself together and do what I wanted to for so long.

My lips pressed against his. They were soft and warm.

He was tense, surprised, but relaxed after a moment. Our lips moved together, and his hands moved to my hair.

~

Hyun Jae laughed quietly as he stared at his phone.

"What are you giggling at?" I asked, leaning over his shoulder.

"The fans ship us together. Look, they're posting the photos of our last radio show, when I held your hand under the table. They noticed!"

"'Ship?'"

"It's when they want people to be together as a couple, hyung."

"Really? If only they knew." I laughed, planting a kiss on the younger boy's cheek.

We had been secretly dating for three months already, and we were hoping that no one found out. We weren't completely certain how we weren't found out yet, but we were grateful. It might have been because our members simply thought it was skinship in our friendship, though it was much more than that.

~

"Happy one year anniversary, hyung." Hyun Jae said softly, smiling at me.

We were laying on my bed in our dorm, hands entwined. We had just got back from dinner with the cast members of the drama we had been cast in together.

"Happy anniversary."

The room was silent for a while, I stared into Hyun Jae's beautiful eyes, and he stared into mine. My hand cupped his cheek, my thumb moving in slow circles.

"I love you," I whispered.

"I love you too. More than anything else in this world, hyung."

We fell asleep. At that moment, I wish I could have stopped time forever, everything was perfect. Little had we known, nothing stayed perfect forever.
