Her Wings [HIATUS]

It had been about three days after the incident where Jungkook, Taehyung, and I were confronted by Krystal. We hadn't seen her anywhere after that. I wanted to tell Victoria when I went to the store the next day, but I figured telling her the whole thing-- the fighting, Taehyung getting hurt, plus the supernatural powers and all-- would be too much for her to try to comprehend. So I made light conversation with her and acted normally.      "Jinyi," she whispered to me, "Taehyung's been out for the last couple of days. Do you know anything? He just suddenly called the manager and asked for a week off," she asked me.      I shook my head, even though I knew exactly what had happened to him, "Nope. I think he just needs a break," I suggested as an answer and Victoria nodded.      "He works really hard everyday, but he still has school. You're right, Jinyi," she smiled happily, "If you see him, tell him I said hello."      I hadn't seen those guys since three days ago. Jungkook hasn't been bothering me, and I haven't heard any news about them in the area. We had only met in such a short time, so we didn't know each other that well at all. But for some reason, I felt sad for not seeing them. Life was somewhat boring again. It somewhat made me perturbed. These boys just showed up in my life to cause havoc but then disappeared? Who does that?      But then maybe Jungkook told them of my powers. They were probably scared of me, like my mom and dad were.      I nodded at her, "Of course!" I replied anyway, and I made my way out the doors, noticing the gray sky. A tired sigh slipped out of me. It seemed to be raining non stop lately. The weather forecast had said it was supposed to rain, but me being myself, I forgot to bring an umbrella. I didn't feel like taking off my blazer to shield my head from the increasing rain drops, so I just walked along the sidewalk for as long as the small little roof above the store stretched out. When I got to the corner, I ran close to a nearby shielded bus stop, which was thankfully empty. I sat down on the waiting bench, pressing my back far against the back to be as covered by the small rooftop as I could be.      The rain seemed to pour harder and harder with every second that passed by, and it was even windy. I could feel raindrops hitting my face, with the only thought of a storm.      I closed my eyes for a couple of seconds, knowing the rain would somehow be able to hit my eyes, but after a while, I couldn't feel any water, but I could hear the solid pitter patter of the rain hitting plastic.      "Why are you sleeping here?"      I looked up, seeing the person I least suspected, "Jungkook?" I voiced slowly.      "Who else?" he raised a brow, "Don't you have an umbrella?" he asked.      I shook my head, "No. I forgot one."      "Even though you knew it was going to rain?" he smirked, as if it was such a funny thing that I had forgotten an umbrella on such a stormy day.      "Yes, Jungkook. I forgot my umbrella even though I knew it was going to rain. You can stop smirking now," I admitted angrily, crossing my arms at him. I was angry not only since he was making a joke at my misery, but because he just suddenly appeared so nonchalantly in my life again, even after what had happened with Taehyung and Krystal and three days of not talking to each other.      Before Jungkook could reply, a roar of thunder from the gray sky sounded, catching me off guard and making me shiver. The boy in front of me noticed.      "Hey, you should come with me to Taehyung's school. I have to get some of his textbooks from his locker for him," he suggested, looking off into the distance.      I looked up at him, realizing that the rain wouldn't stop anytime soon. Going indoors would be better than staying out in the cold rain for hours.      Standing up, I silently looked to Jungkook, and our eyes stayed glued to each other for a while. It was only when I took a step forward under his umbrella that we began walking where Jungkook needed to go.        Taehyung went studied at a small university in the richer part of the city. We had to take a subway there, and surprisingly, he studied Pharmaceutical Sciences. Pharmacists made quite a lot of money, but Taehyung didn't seem to be the type to be in need for money. He worked a lot, but he seemed so happy all the time so you couldn't tell. And then there was the fact that he didn't seem like the time to be in medical stuff; the guy seemed too out of it all the time.      I followed Jungkook through the campus. It wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be. There were some kids walking to other classes, but otherwise, there weren't many kids around, probably because it was raining and almost time for vacation.      We entered the medical building and Jungkook brought me to the pharmaceutical studies section. We came across a hall with lockers and Jungkook walked over to one of them, opening it with a couple of turns. He pulled out a textbook and closed the locker, turning to me.      He looked at me for a while, and then scratched his head.      "Jimin should be ending his classes soon, we can wait for him so we can walk back to the warehouse together," he informed me.      I nodded my head, "Ok, so then-"      "We can stay here for another twenty minutes or so, if that's okay with you," he suggested.      "That's fine," I had nothing else to do.        We ended up near the music building. It turned out that there was a large theater at the back of the campus. It seated about three hundred people, but how it was arranged around the stage made it look like it there were a thousand seats to be filled.      The theater was dimly lit and empty, but the center stage was spot lighted on. There was a grand piano to the side of the stage and a few lights and props scattered around.      "Jimin is in the dance and performing department. He'll be here soon," Jungkook mentioned, leading me up the stage. He turned back to me, "You don't mind waiting, right?"      I shook my head, "It's fine, honestly. I don't think I can get home on the subway myself,"      Jungkook nodded at my reply, and began walking up the steps to the stage once again. I followed him carefully, stopping my steps when Jungkook suddenly went to the front of the grand piano and opened the cover to the keys. He played a couple of notes before sitting down on the bench. (x)      There was a small echo from the intro he played, and followed afterwards was a soft and gentle melody, which seemed sad at the same time. There was a pained feeling coming from the notes, and it made me listen intently. I stood beside the bench, watching the boy delicately hit the keys with precision. He had a sad smile on his face.      I couldn't understand why, but I felt some feelings in my heart. The song made me feel warm despite how much it had rained earlier. It surprised me how much just this simple song Jungkook was playing could relay this to me. I suddenly felt anxious, just by looking at his face. My heart began beating, but I tried to ignore it. Who knew a guy like him could play piano so well?      When he finished, he looked up at me, still smiling.      "I don't know. This song kinds reminds me of you, just for some weird reason," he explained, swiping his finger under his nose. He sniffled a bit before shoving his hands in the pockets of his sweatshirt. "When I was looking at you when we were at Taehyung's locker, I wanted to play this song," he added.      I suddenly blushed, "Why were you looking at me?" I asked with furrowed brows. My heart was beating faster, and honestly, I didn't like it at all.      "Huh?" Jungkook widened his eyes, "You just happened to be the only person there. If there was someone else, I would have looked at them, too. It's only natural," he quickly explained, huffing a bit at my question. I huffed back in return, and we avoided each other's eyes after that.      "Weirdo," I whispered under my breath.      "Says the girl who shoots beams of light from her hands," Jungkook grumbled back.      Instinctively, my mouth dropped and I raised my fist, turning to the boy and yelling, "What did you say!?"      "You should know! Don't you have super hearing, too!?" he yelled back, standing up from the bench swiftly. He was at least six centimeters taller than me, but even so, I didn't dare to back down, and he didn't seem to either.      We stood less than three centimeters apart, staring at each other's faces with crazy eyes, hoping for the other to finally give up.      After about ten seconds of intense staring, my eyes began to feel dry, and so did Jungkook's, since his eyes began tearing up like mine were.      Either luckily or not, our stupid staring contest was ending when a loud joking voice sounded through the theater.      "Hey, are you guys gonna kiss or not?" Jimin chuckled, walking up the steps to the stage, carrying his backpack and a water bottle.      My eyes darted to Jimin and I quickly jumped back after thinking about his words and realizing how close I was to Jungkook. He did the same, grimacing at what Jimin said.      "Huh? Are you crazy? She's totally not my type," he scoffed at me, and I could only jump at him in return, threatening to tackle him.      Jimin just smirked at the two of us, seemingly entertained and happy with our quarrel, but I couldn't help but feel really wary around him. He didn't seem fake with his smiles-- those seemed sincere. It was just that he appeared to be harboring some type of secret. I really didn't know.      Maybe it was the way he was looking at me the day I had told Jungkook about my powers, or the way I couldn't read into his thoughts and could only see a red screen covering them, or the way his sweet smile had turned into a menacing scowl once I had passed him.      It could have just been some type of dislike against me. If that was the case, then I would believe it. There are a lot of people who probably don't really like me, but I've never been bothered by it like this. I didn't know if he hated me or not, but it made me cautious.      "Oh, cool. You got Taehyung's book," Jimin gestured towards the books in Jungkook's hands.      Jungkook smiled, "Yep. He asked me to so I came after school to get them."      "And you let Jinyi tag along?" Jimin asked.      I was honestly pleasantly surprised he remembered my name. But then again, I was somewhat anxious realizing that, because that must have meant I left some kind of impact on him for him to remember me. You would think the guy sees girls everyday, because after all, they were gangsters. You can't possibly remember each name you hear.       I held back laughter suddenly at the thought. There was no way guys like them were cool enough to score big with older girls around the shady parts of the town. I couldn't think of any sane glamorous women who'd want to screw around with guys like BTS, since some of them still looked like they were in their first years of high school.      So ruling that out, Jimin either had a good memory or a really strong opinion about me to remember my name.      "Yeah," Jungkook simply replied. It was one word, but I felt relieved by it. The less he told Jimin about me, the better it made me feel. Sud
