Little Ryeowook tugged on his mother's hand to get her attention.
"What is it sweetheart?"
Ryeowook glanced at the woman in front of him before looking back up his mother.
"Umma,who is this ahjuma? She's very pretty."
Ryeowook had asked shyly, partially hiding behind his mother and big round eyes peeking at Mrs Lee.
"Omo..!! You're so adorable!! How old are you?" Mrs Lee squealed.
Looking back up at his mother before whispering softly,"i'm eight this year Mrs Ahjuma."
"Sungmin-ah! Come here for a minute please." Mrs Lee beckoned her son.
A boy not older than Ryeowook ran over.
Hair messed up,cheeks flushed red and lollipop between pouty lips.
Kim Ryeowook and Lee Sungmin met for the very first time that day.
"Min-ah,you have to take care of this sweetheart here from now onwards okay?"
"Wae umma,wae? Do I really have to? " Sungmin asked.
"Because you're a boy and boys look after little girls."
Sungmin looked at Ryeowook and went over to hold the boy's hand.
"Ahnyeonghasaeyo,Sungmin imnida.. You're pretty. Do you want to be my girlfriend?"
Ryeowook starred at him. Then used all the strength his tiny body held to push the other boy to the ground.
"Yah! I am a boy okay?! I also have a hot-dog in my pants."
With that,he stomped off.

Sungmin gave Ryeowook a chocolate bar later that day.
And they had become friends from then.

They were celebrating thier ten years of friendship.
With a big block of chocolate decorated with ten mint leaves.
Sungmin looked on as Ryeowook talked on the phone with Kyuhyun.
The younger boy was smiling and laughing.
A frown marred Sungmin's handsome features as he felt his heart clench yet again.
He never bothered about it untill that night.
He found out that he was jealous.

"Wookie-ah,its late. We should turn in."
Ryeowook asked Sungmin to send him home.
Sungmin persuaded Ryeowook to stay for the night.
"The guest room is always empty. You can sleep there tonight."

Starring at the empty bed in his room as he lied down on his,
Sungmin imagined life without Ryeowook.
His mind went blank.

"Kim Ryeowook,remember what i asked you when we first met? I asked if you wanted to be my girlfriend.
Well,would you? Will you be mine?"
Sungmin asked his reflection in the mirror

"Ah yes. That would be great. Thank you so much for your help." Sungmin ended the call and smiled to himself
Ryeowook was going to receive a mint plant. He loved the gentle scent of the leaves as much as he loved eating chocolate.

"Hyung! Kyuhyun asked me out! Can you believe it?!" his phone read..
Sungmin called his mother and asked her for directions on how to make mint tea.

Lee Sungmin was the guest perfomer for that night.
Holding his guitar and strumming softly, he sang to a sea of faceless strangers
He could not see anyone but Ryeowook. Ryeowook filled his mind
Sungmin sang about a boy who was flying to Japan the very next day.
A boy who was his best friend. A boy who he unknowingly fell in love with.
